Thanks again, for all the support and questions.

Since we aren't using a blog anymore. We will try to answer whatever questions come up here when we can.

===================================================

1) First of all, it was probably overlooked in the 2nd post due to

the excitement, but a fairly major thing was mentioned that we

haven't talked about before. I'm surprised no one brought it up.

Hint:

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/4459/rfr6.th.jpg

2) We're aware and in contact with poita for the 4k scanner. This may be a factor down the road. But we have all the data we need for now for the films, and we've already made quite a bit of progress with them.

Maybe in the future 4k versions will be needed, but not until we currently finish up what we have.

3) The raw scans will be available if you provide the drives, that was the plan due to the sheer size of them (several Terabytes). I'm sure someone might try to share them afterwards.

Possible legal action or timing has no effect on this, we're not concerned about that aspect of it.

4) About recapturing the prints. Yes, we've done some recaptures of several parts to improve them. And although the print was sold, we still have access to it anytime we needed it. We also have several more resources for the other films in addition to what we already had, with vastly improved results.

5) We're busy, but now we have time to keep some updates going here, just to keep people informed. So, if you have further questions that haven't been answered yet, keep posting, and we'll see what we can do.

Hello again everyone, we just wanted to apologize for the slow responses, and

also to those people that requested blog access. As you know it is down,

and will not be returning in that form. We think we showed you

our intent, and gave plenty of examples of progress to prove that

it was in fact, a real and healthy project. We hope you enjoyed that inside

look into our process and progress.

Furthermore, we will back at some point in the future, in another

form. Can't say exactly what it will be at the moment. Not to look past Star

Wars, as that is our main priority.

But with the advances we have in our capture equipment, and setup.

We now know that Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi will

be a lot quicker to complete.

We also have a dolby sound processor to capture the audio accurately

and properly. We have obtained further prints of Empire that are much

cleaner and have more accurate colors than our previous ones.

Consequently, this will speed up the process whenever we get around

to that.

Thanks for the communities support and to everyone following us, and we will

be sure to update everyone as the appropriate time and project milestones are

met.

Hey people,

Just to stop all the conjecture. We are still very, very busy with this project. The blog became less of priority for the time being.

In fact, we've made several advances with upgrading our transfer process, and have been evaluating the impact on the work we've done so far.

We are being less vocal about it, because as it has been said, there is a lot more scrutiny going on.

We know you will be very happy about what we've got done so far, and in fact we are ahead of where we thought we be at this point in time.

Most of us have been very busy with real life, jobs, and family. Sometimes, we just have to take a break from everything. But never fear, as we are getting back into it, and will have more to report shortly.

May the Force be with You.

Hi guys. Sorry for the break. It's been a busy summer. We have been working hard. Myself and the others have been on vacation, and we're just getting back.

Ok, first. The site is down for maintenance and some updates. Again, sorry for the short notice. These things come up, and we are definitely due for some updates. So keep up the faith.

Secondly, there will be some bigger announcements coming up, and we are just waiting for the right time to make them. You'll see what we mean once we're ready.

We'll be back. So enjoy the break, and may the force be with you.

Awesome. The Transcript has been updated to reflect the username corrections and fix the last "bluray". If there are any other corrections you think I should make, just let me know.

Looks great, although you forgot to fix "X-Wing -> X-wing". Also, I'm unsure about how team negative1 wants their name capitalized. They spell it with no capitalized letters, but I'm not sure if that's just writing style or the way they prefer it. I suppose the only way to know is to ask.

You can capitalize both the names or leave as is, whichever is easier. Thanks.

Thanks to all our supporters, and we know we will have the best possible preservation of the original Star Wars when we are done.

There is no other public project out there that will match what we are doing. Others are close approximations or estimates. We have the expertise in hardware, software, and experience when it comes to determining what Star Wars would have been like back when it originally came out.

So we could just average out what all the transfers have in common?

Don't the Negative1 team have several sources?...

We do have several prints as mentioned in the 35mm thread. We also have a fully color corrected version of our first print. However, we will have to cross reference it against the other ones.

We haven't really looked at them in awhile due to our concentrating on our main project.

There are no unfaded prints of Empire as far as we know. We seem to have to found the best ones though. And that is more than enough of a reference for us.

It's looking like Adywan won't have time to do the color correction of ROTP.  It's perfectly understandable, and I am honored that he did PSB.

I could do the color correction on ROTP myself, but there are surely people here who would do a better job.  Is there anyone here that the forum recommends?

It would involve taking the three .avi files (one per reel), and for each one finding a single color adjustment to apply to the entire reel.  I'd prefer that, rather than trying to do a scene-by-scene adjustment, because that would preserve the relative color balance of the original 16mm films.  This is what Adywan did for PSB.

Please continue this offtopic discussion of Indiana Jones here:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Indy-Blu-rays-announced/topic/13964/

There were many issues with the bluray version, from the colors,

to various scenes. However, it seemed acceptable to most people.

We do not have any plans at this time to anything non star wars at this time.

And now you'll all be interested to see that under this link you can find a complete comparison gallery of all the changes made to v2.1.

Now, there's no comments, just pictures but in most cases it should be pretty clear what has changed (in like 80% of cases it's just colors). It should show all the changes with the exception that when a whole scene was recolored, only some of the shots from the scene are shown as examples but enough to get a good idea about the coloring of the whole scene. Also, where there's a frame that has specs of dirt cleaned up from it, it obviously means that the whole shot's been similarly cleaned up, not just that frame.

If you have any questions about some of the changes, you can use the name (number) of the picture.

I should be uploading the AVCHD tomorrow :-)

Awesome job Harmy. Great job on the fixes. Cinch will be happy the greenish tinge is disappearing now. Also thanks for the credit. We always have watched your progress with great interest.

Hopefully we will collaborate in the future, when we get a chance.
