One correction to make, though, a simple spelling error. The word is "Canonicity," not "Canonocity."

Just like it would be interesting to see what happens after ROTJ. Just like it would be interesting to see what happens after Independance Day. Just like it would be interesting to see what happens after *insert just about any movie here*!
Just because it would be interesting doesn't mean I want to see it on the big screen! That's how we get shitty sequels in the first place!

Seriously, Star Wars should stay away from the small screen. A Star Wars tv series would just end up being another Enterprise or Babylon 5 or Farscape....but not as good as Enterprise, Babylon 5 or Farscape.

There's no rivalry in my mind. They're both awesome. I agree with you in your assessment of the series (even your exclusion of DS9), but I've always had an affinity for TNG. I grew up with it, and I always found it more intellectual than the original series. That being said, Kirk et al had the better adventures!

As bing a SW fan I am, I'll watch Star Trek anytime. They're pretty even in my mind, but there's just so much Star Trek....it's so much more all-encompassing.
In a related note, anyone watch "How William Shatner Changed the World" last night?

That's the worst contradiction I've heard in a long time, but you're absolutely right, Kev.

I agree with you on many points, CO. ROTS was decent. Still, though, I have a tough time transitioning from III to IV. I'll still always see 4,5,6 as the Star Wars Trilogy, and 1,2,3 as the prequel backstory. I agree, though, that to someone who has never seen any of them, I'd show 4,5,6,1,2,3.

I prefered Clive Revil for the holo as well, mostly because it was short and to the point, and much more mysterious. They should have kept him for the Emperor.

Wasn't that because he wanted the whole saga in a film, but unfortunately had to pare it down so that Star Wars was just one sixthe of the story?
In a sorta related note, I was re-reading an interview with GL in Rolling Stone back in April or May (just before ROTS), and he said (I'll have to get the full quote when I get home, but he said "Now the first trilogy is a tragedy, and the last three are just a goofy story." !!WTF
Also, I was watching a piece on the new movie, Zathura, and the little kid said that he thought the movie was "kinda like the original Star Wars, because it focuses more on the characters than the effects. Jon (the director) wanted to stay away from CG whenever possible."
Interesting.
