I can't really explain why so many are 1280x768, but I do know that they just put small black bars top and bottom. It's not really noticeable because they're only 24 pixels each, and when you have subtitles on, it uses the extra on the bottom for the titles. I think the reason they're 768 is just that it's standard for screens, and probably cheaper than making one 720 high

What's the difference between the two? I would like to know which category I fall into.

If you want to get technical, nerds are usually considered to be intellectually superior to geeks.

I would be a nerd then.

You edited his post!

He had written "If you want to get technical, nerds are usually considered to be intellectually superior to nerds," and you changed it! How do you know his intention? What if he meant that geeks are smarter than nerds? Or what if what he typed was exactly what he meant? You can't assume what you did.

Oh, and for the record, you're totally not a nerd.

SLAP!

Snap out of it! How many frakking times does this same arguement have to go on in here! Get over it, Adam and MeBe. You're doing nobody any good by Finking each other.

Yes, it's just your opinion on a messageboard, Adam, but you seem to think that if people would just watch the films in order, they'd have the same opinion as you. You DON'T know any better than these parents what order they should show the movies to their kids.

MeBe, while I may agree with you, I don't always agree with your tactics. That is all.

They probably did exist at some point and may still exist but are lost. Whether or not they had/have any 'magical' powers, well it could just be legend. That's the thing about legends - you never know. Have you read the Da Vinci code? If not, it's a pretty good 'popular' introduction to an old grail theory.

This is where I laugh. Now, I'm not laughing at you, YIYF, but, well, I'll admit that as a teenager, I was enthralled by grail theories and conspiracies and that. I read all the books and literature on the subject, including 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail' and then learned a terrible truth. Pierre de Plantard made up everything he said about the Priory of Sion. Now, that doesn't mean the Grail never existed, but it did mean that book lost a lot of its credibility. There's documented evidence that the Priory of Sion was creadted in 1956 to protest a housing commision in France. The stuff about it guarding the grail and the holy bloodline and todays Knights Templar, well, it's crap.

Nonetheless, when I heard about 'Da Vinci Code', I knew I had to read it (and Angels and Demons). It's a popularist fancy, and an engaging story, but it's just that, STORY. If you do read it, don't think of any of it as true. It's a romanticism of 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail', even mentioning it in the book. It's as though Dan Brown read HBHG and thought, "That's really cool, let's make it a novel!" without reading anything else. Now, it's still a fun book, but you can't even think of the theories as theories, since most of them have been proved bunk.

I'm afraid that, as Switch Radic put it, Laura Prepon is being sucked into the Hollywood idiot machine. That and she's playing blonde serial killer Karla Holmokav in that movie Karla. I keep hoping and praying that she'll go back to the red locks because there are so few precious beautiful red heads out there in Hollywood.

I remember that case from back when I was 10 or so. Scary times. A story that needs to be told, but I think it was ill-timed, with the release of Karla Hamolka from prison this past year

IT'S SO HARD NOT TO POST SPOILERS.

And I'm so thankful you try! I just finished season one today so I could watch the premiere of season two. I'm enjoying the show even more now than I did when I last posted (one day and six episodes ago). I'm frustrated, though, because I was spoiled, and now have to wait a whole week for the next episode. Yes, I suppose I could order the DVDs from the US, but then I'll watch those, and won't be able to see 211 for another ten weeks! I guess I'll just have to suffer. It hurts so good. So very, very good!

Actually, Season 1 was shown in the Uk first because Sky was the primary benefactor for season 1. Wehn it came to season 2, Sci-Fi in the States paid for it all, so they get to show it first.

Don't feel bad. The first episode of season two is tomorrow, here in Canada.

What's the problem so many people have with animation anyway? I mean, all it is is a different medium to tell a story. Not all animated shows are silly like so many seem to think.
What an incite!

Is someone starting a riot, or was this a comment about his tremendous insight?
Sorry YIYF, just razzing you. Grammar hits us all. No hard feelings, I hope.
