Suicide Squad - 4/10
An obnoxious piece of filth. Friends of mine begged me to go with them, and my ticket was paid for by a friend, so I went. I deeply regret it.
Imagine being bitten by mosquitos for two hours. That’s Suicide Squad.
In case any of you had any sliver of hope for the upcoming Blade Runner sequel, Jared Leto has just been confirmed to be in the film.
Now I imagine Duracell as Marvel Comics’ Eternity.
I’m excited! However, the digital release is in early October and the physical release isn’t until November, which is total BS.
I agree entirely.
As for the Beastie Boys dilemma, I imagine Kirk eventually tries to go back in time and see a Beastie Boys concert. Hijinks ensue, and eventually someone in the group has to be pinched by Spock.
I’m not confident they’ll include both aspect ratios in HD, would be nice. But I think we’ll only get the Theatrical aspect ratio scanned. At least it will be a new scan and I’m hoping for some decent extras and the original audio mix. Shame, I think this project is no more, I was really looking forward to it!
I believe both ratios will be available in HD on seperate discs.

We used a 35mm IP, which has the complete frame. The 4k scan was of the complete frame and 1.33:1 and 1.85:1 versions were created from that scan.
I agree, Jeebus.
My theory is that SW is in an alternate universe where space magic is real and humans just happen to exist all over the place.
I agree with Dom’s earlier post. Also, I don’t think Rey will get any slave outfit. IIRC Fisher told Ridley “don’t ever let them put you in the slave outfit” or something along those lines.
Just make it past that first original story after the adaptation and it’s smooth sailing. And then stop once you get to the ROTJ adaptation.
Go no further, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.Just to punctuate this point:
Consider your point punctuated.
It may be a while before I get very far into these comics though, since school just started back for me yesterday and I’m fairly busy. That and my shopping cart on the website I usually buy comics from is already pretty full.
FILMS
II - What else can I say that hasn’t been said?
VI - Wonderful swan song, and actually quite good on its own.
BEYOND - I have my problems with the first two Kelvin-line films, but I’ll defend this one if it kills me!
I - Underrated, but maybe I’m biased bc it introduced me to Trek
III - Could’ve been really good, a few things held it back.
IV - Good fun, but I like III just a hair better.
ST09 - It’s a good movie, a but several things just felt off
FC - a bit too dour
ID - waayy too dour
V - Out-of-body experience in bad, beating out the last three because at least it is some kind of experience
GEN - sloppy and bland
NEM - dream rape and dune buggies were just what Star Trek needed!
INS - Nothing about this movie works.
UPDATED AGAIN
Maybe that’s because they’re hiding outside Mike’s house waiting to strike in the event that he does download the edits 😉
Yes! They’re a lot of fun, especially the years between SW and ESB. The only downside of the collected editions is you don’t get the letter columns and ads of the day. Interesting to get a glimpse into what fans were thinking back then.
I’m almost afraid to handle my original issues today.
I love reading old letter columns. In one of my DC Trek books, someone wrote an insane, racist letter. Most of the letters in the next issue were attacking said guy. It was a thrilling arc.
Speaking of the original Marvel comics, should I get into those? I own the latter half of their SW/ANH adaptation in an oversized book (see below) and I’m interested in collecting more issues.
If Fett takes his helmet off, I’m definitely not watching it. Assuming I know beforehand, say from a trailer or word of mouth after the first week (I don’t trust online spoilers).
How do people not know this?

Because there are a lot of casual Star Wars fans out there. What’s strange though is that they know the quote but not what movie it’s from.
When I was little, all 3 films blurred together, and I often forgot what happened in which film. I imagine it’s the same for casual fans, to some degree.
The thread is terrible.

LOL indeed!

That’s some sad sensationalist writing right there.
It would have been pretty ridiculous to see a 53 year old man try to play a baby.
They should’ve dubbed a baby with Hamill. Everyone knows that Luke’s meaty-chlorine ranking was so high that he could talk as a baby. In fact, his first words were “now I must take my father’s place as Chosen One,” which he said 5 minutes before his birth.

Methinks he wants it as “yhwx”.
I guess put me in this thread because I don’t get it.
Whoa, it’s really meta for me then.
I’m not getting the joke now so it means that it makes sense that my profile was linked in here. Well played, Coffee.
Indeed it was. How tragic that my greatest triumph came from a mistake. The link I once had posted was posted in folly, and has since been corrected to reveal the true moment in which ye missed a joke.
Remember when this thread was less than a page long and none of the posts were by Frink or YHWX? Good times.
