The Man Of Steel #1-6

The Good:

  • The art!!!
  • Living Kents!
  • Characters are mostly good

The Bad:

  • Krypton’s bleakness (and the stupid “Birthing Matrix”)
  • Lana Lang’s appearance to yell at Clark for ruining her life felt weird to me
  • Supes has no interest in Krypton at all? Flying around for a bit and thinking is all it takes for you to not care at all about the father whose final act was saving your life?

ABCs of Death (2012) – 3/10

ABCs of Death 2 (2014) – 7/10

Flipping through my Netflix queue this morning looking for something to watch while waiting for the DVD of The Conjuring to show up, I came across the first of these. Watched the first five (through E) and I’ll admit it’s not that great so far, but I wouldn’t go so low as a 3/10.

I just looked up “F” and it’s for “fart” so that doesn’t encourage me, however.

Ha you should have went to Wal-Mart. Ours has the conjuring in the $5 bin. I wouldn’t imagine were the only one.

We also had the BLU RAY of the Fellowship of the Ring. Seems odd to have a brand New blu ray of a big name movie that cheap.

Aw, man! Walmart here never has any Blus in the $5 bin! At best, there’s the occasional DVD with a slipcover.

Riri Williams is Ironheart

God that’s stupid. Can’t wait for Iron Man to come back.

Wow, that’s so cinematic!

I kid, since I’m not aware of a comics thread other than “Last comic read.”

I’m more annoyed that it’s ANOTHER #1 issue, but I quit caring about keeping up with current comics, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

I don’t like Walmart because they’re a terrible company. I’ll just leave it at that.

We’re doing just fine without you, and fyi Wal-Mart donates a ton of money to children’s miracle network hospitals. Even more than they advertise they do.

When our story opened up everyone was afraid it would put our local grocery store out of business. And it did. But (almost) everyone that worked there got hired at this Wal-Mart and now makes more money than they did there, so it didn’t exactly hurt people’s jobs.

Its not the villain everyone says it is, it’s just any other large chains where some branches are better than others.

Also did you know all employees get quarterly bonuses based on how good that particular store did? And it is on an individual store basis. So in a sense when you shop at Wal-Mart you are helping the workers in your local community.

Walton Invasion II: yhwx’s Revenge

This time,

It’s personal.

Ugh. I’m a manager at Wal-Mart (talk down to me for working at Wal-Mart all you want but management here pays me very comfortably) and I totally lost my cool with a customer today. I don’t feel bad about it either.

Our Wal-Mart has a gas station (an actual wal-Mart gas station not a Murphy’s like some Wal-Mart’s have) and a customer there was so furious about something they demanded to speak with a manager. So I went out there.

So, they wanted to get $4 in gas. (Yes this all happened over $4) They apparently didn’t know how fuel pumps work or something. There was only one attendant on duty and she had a line of customers so she couldn’t just drop them to go pump his gas for him until she got her line down and when there’s input one of them they aren’t supposed to step outside anyway unless it’s an emergency.

Anyway, as I get out there I hear the Bastard screaming at the girl “Well I guess you’re just too stupid to turn the pump on!” because supposedly his gas wouldn’t pump.

So I walked out there with him and proceeded to, without any trouble, pump his gas for him. And, with his recent uncalled for insult on an innocent cashier, I calmly said, “Hey, would you look at that… I pulled the trigger and the gas pumped, imagine that. I guess somebody’s just too stupid to pump gas.”

I don’t feel bad about it either. The trend (in this town anyway) to treat retail employees like absolute garbage knowing they have to just take it is getting old. Normally I would’ve just pumped his gas and left with an obvious smirk but that guy was too much.

He deserves it. And I love Walmart. It’s my favorite place for late night blu Ray runs.

It’s the best place for late night anything runs! Well, actually, it’s the only place here where I’m from.
