Ridiculous One: A Star Wars Story

I used to watch Lazytown with my girls a lot. I was quite surprised to discover one of their songs went viral recently.

From what I’ve heard, it has to do with, at least in part, the fact that the actor of that villain got cancer and started a gofundme page to help pay for the costs. It helped spread the word when he did a live version of the song online.

I wonder if you could edit the “I am one with the Force and the Force is with me” to a rhyming game - something like “Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers…” and they keep cocking it up.

Or, this could start playing and when he sings the word “…one,” Chirrut picks up with “…with the Force, the Force is with me.”

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Fan Edit Ideas thread...
Time

Rogue One as Episode III ideas:

-Add opening crawl (with JW theme) which describes events from the end of Catalyst. Mostly just about Galen learning that his Kyber research was to be weaponized and he and his family fled to Lah’mu.

-Remove location subtitles.

-Add scene transition wipes

The Han Solo movie, if any good, could become an alternate Episode II, since it would’nt fit between R1 and ANH unless they CG-faced Han and Lando and anyone else that might show up.

However the shot of him watching the Tantive IV jump to hyperspace destroys the continuity - how could Leia pretend not to be part of the rebellion when her ship had just undocked and flew out of a battle with her crew knowing that Vader witnessed them??

At the beginning of ANH, the Tantive was already shooting/being shot at by the Star Destroyer. They all knew, Leia was just desperate and made something up. Plus, they could’ve been flying a few days or so, so she could just have been feigning ignorance to the events of the previous battle, as if she’d just recently been picked up.

Rogue One * Spoilers * Thread
Time

Just got out of Rogue One. I liked it quite a lot, but not quite as much as TFA. It’s very close, but a few very minor things made me sort of scratch my head. These things seem like they would be easy to fix in a fanedit, though, and likely will.

 1. The Rogue One title card, I liked a lot. Different, but familiar. I did not like it’s placement. I think it should’ve been at the very opening, rather than a few minutes in.

 2. Location subtitles. JEDHA, EADU, I just don’t like those in general.

I liked the CG-face characters. They weren’t perfect, but I was impressed with how far the technology has come since, for example, Tron: Legacy’s younger Jeff Bridges.

Overall, I think it felt like a good EU book, or a comic, or a game, but on the big screen. Not in that it follows Legends canon or anything, it simply expands the universe. It serves its purpose, and I liked it quite a bit.

Least favorite movie: Boxtrolls

I’m surprised anyone had any kind of strong reaction to that movie, positive or negative, especially one that would make you declare it your least favorite movie ever.

Why? I’m squeamish

Not sure what squeamishness has to do with it, though I’ve forgotten at least 95% of that movie since I rented it from a Redbox years ago, so what do I know?

Clones and Sith are the worst films of the franchise, period. This author must be living in a parallel universe where incompetent filmmaking is high art.

How can this be a New Yorker article?

I agree with every word of this post.

Then WE ARE in an alternate universe!

We are?! Quick, someone tell me how to spell Berenst(e/a)in!
