Help: looking for... a few LaserDisc Audio Tracks
Time

zeropc said:

i'm looking for the following audio tracks in uncompressed pcm from the ntsc laserdisc of these movies

The Shinning (1980) - 144min Original Mono

The Abyss (1989) - Theatrical Cut (LTBX LD) and Director's Cut (THX S.E.)

Robocop (1987) - Director's Cut Criterion Collection

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) - Criterion Collection

Full Metal Jacket (1987) - Original Mono

A Clockwork Orange (1971) - Original Mono

Trading Places (1983) - Original Mono

An Officer and a Gentlemen (1982) - Original Mono

Robin Hood: King of Thieves (1991) - Theatrical Cut (found)

Amadeus (1984) - Theatrical Cut (THX LD)

Taxi Driver (1976) - Criterion Collection Original Mono

what do i want to do with these tracks?

i'd like to remux these audio tracks with the blu-ray or use them on the restoring of the theatrical cuts (robin hood and amadeus)

why do you want the laserdisc audio, isn't audio on the blu-ray good enough for you?

i prefer to watch the movies in their original audio mix and many blu-rays don't have them anymore. you only get access to 5.1 upmixes. i like to preserve the original mix if possible and laserdisc is a very good source for that.

the audio itself can be captured and then send to me. you don't have to edit the side change. separate files for each side of the laserdisc are also fine. please don't process them to 48khz. i'd do that myself after all syncing is done.

if you have any of these movies and can share the pcm audio, please send me a pm. once i receive the audio, it will noted here and you'll receive full credit, unless of course you don't wish so.

thanks in advance

I have the Abyss Special Widescreen Edition Stereo Extended Play 2 disc LD from Fox Video Both Analog and Digital tracks. Will that work?

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released)
Time

Sorry that I am late to the party but I have just recently rejoined the forum. The phone number on the wall did exist . I have seen the stills and may still have the capture somewhere. I have the some what uncensored LD and the completely uncensored VHS. I made a DVD of these back in the early 2000s and I will dig them up. It may take a dew days.

Idea: Bourne Ultimatum edit?
Time

Just saw the Bourne Ultimatum.
I paid about $10 for the 3 disk dvd set called the Bourne Files. It Has the 1st two movies and a third disk with extras (if you already have the movies don’t bother with this set) , in the package was a check for $7.50 for the purchase of a ticket to the Bourne Ultimatum. The early showing at the theatre near by was only $6.50 but I did not get a dollar back. So for $10 I got the 1st two movies on dvd and got to see the third. Not bad.
The new movie has an interesting concept as sequels go. The first two thirds of the movie takes place during a gap between the last two scenes of the last movie, the Bourne Supremacy. It is then that an expanded version of the last scene of the Bourne Supremacy is shown and the movie picks up from there. I feel a fan edit coming on as soon as the Ultimatum DVD hits.

Eyes Wide Shut (Original Cut Preservation / Edit) (* unfinished project *)
Time
Let me jump in. Maybe this will help. I lifted this from Matthew Hunt's website

"Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
5.1 Dolby Digital stereo, colour, 1.85:1, 35mm.

Directed, produced, and co-written by Stanley Kubrick. A sexual and psychological thriller starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, released in 1999. The narrative concerns marital jealousy and temptation, and it seemed to prefigure the collapse of Cruise and Kidman's own off-screen marriage. Eyes Wide Shut was the subject of intense speculation and rumour, climaxing in a frenzy of anticipation. The increasingly lengthy periods between Kubrick's completed film projects caused much online debate. The secrecy in which Kubrick shrouded each of his productions, and his seemingly endless filming schedules, added to the internet gossip. Kubrick did, however, allow stills photographer Manuel Harlan onto the otherwise closed set.

Before the film's premiere, the scene in which Cruise and Kidman kiss in front of a mirror was released in isolation as a teaser-trailer at the ShoWest trade fair. Intriguingly, the two versions of this kissing scene (the one in the film itself and the one in the teaser) differ slightly. The film version is shorter, is cropped on all four sides, and utilises an alternate take for the moment when Kidman removes her glasses. Kubrick died of a heart-attack a few days after completing Eyes Wide Shut and it is perhaps no coincidence that this posthumously-released film is not available in the version he originally intended.

In America, black-cloaked figures were digitally inserted to mask the simulated sex in the film's orgy sequence, in order to secure an 'R'-rating from the MPAA. (Like A Clockwork Orange, the film's extensive nudity is exclusively female and largely gratuitous.) The digital figures were, thankfully, not present when the film was screened in the UK. However, for the UK release the orgy scene was censored in a different way: a recital from the Bhagavad Gita during the Meditations music in the orgy scene was removed from the soundtrack, replaced by meaningless chanting.

The Bhagavad Gita recital is not present in any video edition of the film, though it is included on the film's soundtrack CD. All Warners VHS and DVDs are 1.33:1 unmatted (Kubrick's preferred video format for the film), though they have numerous alterations: they are clearly cropped when compared with the ShoWest teaser, a reflected crew-member in the bathroom overdose scene was digitally erased, the jarring reel-changes were smoother, and the intentional graininess of the image was reduced. All NTSC editions have the orgy sex digitally censored whereas all PAL and SeCAM editions do not. Italian inserts were filmed to replace the English-language text in the warning letter handed to Bill and the newspaper article he reads, and are available on the Italian PAL VHS version."

There is also a web page that has photos that compare scenes between the US and the International versions. I have the link but I am not sure if I can post it.

If you're interested, I made a cover for Let It Be, specifically for the Demonoid version which I downloaded. Here it is, if you want the high-res version, let me know. I have also designed replacement covers for the other Beatles films, to match. Cheers.

Could yould post a link to this or at least upload a flat version. I can't get the image you posted to come out right for my cover.
Thanks

Can you be more specific about this, Suntech? They never told us that the AQ disc 9 contains ALL the stuff from the laserdiscs. But they transfered the materials in a way which make us believe it is everything.

The Laserdisc is the Special Widescreen Collector's Edition. (CAV)
Exclusive Collector's Section including
Premiere Presentation of Out-Take footage.
Interview with Ridley Scott.
Behind-The Scene Footage.
H.R. Giger's Paintings and Drawings.
Conceptual art work.
Rare Production Photographs.
Screenplay Excerpts.
Annotated History of the film.
Theatrical Trailer and original Advertising Materials.

I do not have the remote to my laserdisc player so I can not step through all of it but what I have seen, to me looks as though that it is presented differently than that of the DVDs

Both Suntech and Bigrob are mentioning their laserdiscs. Are you able to compare the LDs with Alien Quadrilogy disc #9, guys? Did Lauzirika's team move all bonuses from the two collectors edition laserdiscs to the DVD set or did they leave something behind? Suntech is even suspicious that he found some unused footage already. I am waitng for a definitive answer about the LDs content for years and nobody can tell this for sure.
I recorded the Making of Alien3 on a DVD-R again, this time without the drops. I am also buying the Making of Alien Resurrection LD now, but I cannot copy it. Should I borrow the LD to Meedermow or Jonno?

There are some things on my Laser disc that I do not see on any other format. Most of it is just presented differently.
