But seriously, who doesn't want more of the world's greatest adventurer?
Anyone that doesn't want to watch a 70+ year old man in that role. The series should have ended in 1989, everything else just taints it.

Wow this is really bumming me out. I've said before that I wasn't buying this set but the look of Raiders is a further setback.
I'm not saying the colour palette is wrong, just to my eyes Spielberg (so much for no changes) went a bit too far. The frame cropping doesn't help either.
Thanks to those posting the links and caps.
This set is overpriced to begin with so the wait for the eventual separate releases isn't a problem and I'll definitely pick up Temple and Crusade when that occurs.
In all likelihood I'll get Raiders too, to complete the trilogy, and make the HDTV rips less immoral.
If this is out of line I'll remove it but could someone who knows about this sort of thing PM and let me know that the rips I have (Raiders 9.94GB, Temple 12.5GB, Crusade 14.1GB) are the best versions? The file names all end in W23, as in the release name, and all are 1080p.
Check your PMs.

If anyone really has a problem with the color timing of the new BD box set, it's a simple matter of getting the 2008 HDTV Broadcasts. The timing is relatively similar to the Lowry, and it's available in really high HD quality (on the scale of 20 GB something captures).
Anybody know where to find this version besides newsgroups? I'd love a PM. Teh only seems to have a 9GB version with missing links. Hmm... might be time to finally fire up one of those free trials.

What exactly will be the 2.1 changes? Would it make sense to wait for it before working on the German version?

CatBus,
Interesting. Those are good points, but I actually see the AVCHD as possibly being the MOST important release. I'm looking at this from a "spread HD restored SW to your less tech-savvy friends" perspective.
While it won't look as good as the BD or MKV, it'll still look pretty amazing. And I know plenty of people who have BD players, but I literally know no one (save some people on internet forums) who has a BD burner (I don't have one either). I think for most of us trying to spread the gospel of an HD, restored SW, being able to get near-BD quality with only a DVD burner is essential.
The MKV is great and all, but to me is the least convenient, and probably not very useful to our less tech-savvy friends.
Just my opinion.
edit: whoops, everyone answered this much more quickly and succinctly than I did :)

FWIW, here's how I see the releases in different formats:
AVCHD: I don't see much point now that it's not the top video-quality tier for the DeEd anymore.
Ummm... You do realize that a lot of people don't have BD burners, right?
Oh, and I definitely would like a V2.1 of the AVCHD, Harmy.
Edit: Ok, I saw your edit but still I think there's enough demand around here for an AVCHD.

Muxing it now, so if everything goes well it could be online in an hour or two.
Awesome! I can hardly wait.
What's the latest on the AVCHD being uploaded?
@ Harmy:
640Kbps is within AVCHD spec. :

So, AVCHD doesn't need to be 448Kbps, that's just for SD DVD, right?
Yes, 640Kbps is within spec. :

I am (VERY SLOWLY) downloading the covers and wanted to ask, are they already at the proper size for a printer to produce them for a BD case? Or, will they need to be resized?
What covers are you talking about and where are you d/ling them from? And yes, like it was stated before 'Undercoverxp' is a great program for printing out covers.
The covers are linked in the first post.
Right. THE V1.0 covers that is.

Between the wait for Puggo's Empire and this AVCHD I don't how much I can take anymore.
Edit: I see the AVCHD is coming soon : )

Anyone know if the stereo version of Hairy_Hen's audio is affected by this problem?
The audio options include all three 1977 mixes; the original 70mm six-track was recreated by hairy_hen, the original stereo
mix was captured from LaserDisc and the original mono mix was restored by Belbucus.
Grazie!

MeGUI might be the most powerful tool to make x264 encodings but sadly I must say that I have no idea how to tweak the settings to get the best results.
Well, I think nobody does.
The best results should come from these presets you can download. I used the recommended DXVA-HD-HQ preset recently with amazing results:

To whoever is posting this to Usenet, why did you stop posting in a.b.starwars at file 117, then continue the post in a.b.hdtv?
Also as a FYI - file #106 didn't post. (I plan on just downloading a par file & rebuilding it, but others might not know what or how to do that.)
What are you talking about?? If the link below is any indication everything you stated above is wrong.
I guess it is possible the remaining files are still uploading,
They are still uploading....

Does anyone know how Chewtobacca is converting this to DVD5? It might be faster for me to convert it myself than to download it. I just tried AVS2DVD and HCENC kept crashing.
The easiest way would be to use ConvertXtoDVD. Depending on processing speed, you can have a DVD5 ready to play in under an hour.
Unless things have changed you definitely don't want to use Convertxtodvd. It doesn't use a good encoder like HcEnc. AvstoDvd is superior.
That said, from everything I've read on the web the best way to go is to use MultiAvchd to convert HD files to SD DVD. It's worked for me and it's meant for such conversions.

Meh. More proof that SW is going down hill.

I was under the impression it started going down hill circa 1983.

Thank you, Harmy, and happy birthday.
Thanks, also, to everyone else involved.
Now, does anyone know if I should download this from usenet, would I be able to return to myspleen and help seed? That is, will the two versions match?
Also, if anyone is still in need of a myspleen invite, please feel free to PM me. I've got a few spare.
AND ANOTHER THING, IF SOMEONE COULD TELL ME WHY THE CODE APPEARS IN MY POSTS, I'D REALLY APPRECIATE IT...
Others have said many times that in your case you need to clear your Internet cache. I recommend using 'Ccleaner'. It's a great lil program, here's a link. :
Thanks, Stretch, hopefully that did it!
You're welcome and it looks like it did work.
