“This time, instead of taking PM requests, I’ll have an email system where you’ll email a copied sentence and automatically receive a reply with a link. All the information will be in a published Google Doc to separate it from this site.”

I’ve seen faneditors do this but I’m wondering how you’ll do this on OT.com without breaking a rule.

This is not a direct link and thus does not break any rules. All information and instructions will be in a separate Google Doc, which is the only link on this site. This is no different than asking people to email me for the link; the only difference is that it’s automated.

Okay, looking forward to it.

Jingle All the Way (1996) - Restored & Regraded [Theatrical & Director's Cut] (Released)

We previously used GASMASK’s 4K release. We’re now using FLUX for the most part. The grain retention in particular is way better, as well as slightly less crushed blacks. I’m pretty sure they’re both pinched from Disney+.

I just found the FLUX one on Usenet

There’s a 1080 upscale of the 480 telecine scan on Archive.org. I’m working on grading it and replacing any missing frames.

Could not find it

You should try out Google.
Google: american graffiti archive
‘American Graffiti (35mm TC Upscaled)’ is the one you want

Actually, rather than wait, maybe you guys can help me find moments where the film gets blocky too. I highly recommend you compare the 1080p and 4K versions together so you can see the difference in change of bitrate, hence the blockiness. It’s also easier for me to start working once I arrive back home on Tuesday.

From what I read the 4K is a “completely botched encoding” and the 1080p is way better. Knowing that I don’t know why you would want to use the 4K at all.

Though 4K was known to be a double of 1080p, so hopefully anyone might barely tell the difference.

With AVC 4K should be four times the bitrate of 1080p.

Thank you SonnyGFunk and You-Too. A nice looking release.

I was wowed by the colours on these renders, particularly ROTJ which looks incredible. I have no doubt that if Team Blu had released ESB and Jedi back in the day they would have received universal acclaim.

Are you talking about 97 or Theatrical?
