As for Nemesis, it is out there but it is apparently far too old to possibly retrieve.

It might still be possible.  If you really want it you can use a news client like "Forte Agent" and retrieve files that are much older than what you can find on nzbclub.  I have usenetserver too and agree that it does rock and with it and forte agent I have been able to download extremely old files.

Still not working for me and I have the preview

Uncropmkv?  Are you loading the same mkv every time?  There could be something wrong with just that mkv.  Out of the TONS of mkv's I've opened in uncropmkv only a few haven't worked.  I just assumed something was wrong those files.  If that isn't it maybe you should update FFdshow and Haali Media Splitter.  Oh, and make sure avisynth 2.58 is installed.

How do I turn this h.264 @ 25fps to NTSC without quality loss so I can get the DVD audio to synch up?

Use uncropMKV.  (By the maker of multiAVCHD)  It's worked for me.  There's VERY little quality loss, in fact you can choose the bitrate for the file.

I have re-encoded these kind of files using Ripbot264 and have been very happy with the results.

I like Ripbot too but in Jetrell Fo's case he would have to re-encode the audio in Ripbot per what the maker of Ripbot has stated in a forum.  This is not the case with Uncropmkv.  (Apparently there are sync issues if you don't re-encode the audio in Ripbot)

Are you saying that Uncropmkv can slow audio without re-encoding?

I believe he's saying that it will slow down the video so I can add the DVD audio to it without sync issues .... or am I reading you wrong stretch?

Oh, sorry I didn't make that very clear.  Uncropmkv will slow down the video just fine.  The audio that came with it will sync perfectly and I assume your DVD audio will also.
I've used both Ripbot and Uncropmkv many times and in this case I would definitely use uncropmkv.  One pass is enough and it will be done faster than ripbot.  Setting it up is much simpler than ripbot also.

Thanks Stretch for explaining. I have downloaded Uncropmkv and will be playing around with it tomorrow. I have a 720p of "Swiss Family Robinson" at 25fps that I would like to slow to 23.976fps. I will report back my impressions.

I used Uncropmkv to slow down "One Hour Photo" from 25fps to 23.976fps and it worked like a charm.  The main reason I use uncropmkv though is to make mkvs 100% AVCHD/BD compliant.  (Especially if it isn't exactly 1280x720 or 1920x1080)  Great little piece of software IMO.

The blu ray is not so good a source for reconstruction Lucas removed the original intended techniscope film grain with dvnr.

The same was done to American Graffiti.

What source do you suggest? I know it has been de-noised/grained, but atleast the outcome should be better than the angrysun version's quality.

For what it's worth there are two HDTVrips on Rutracker.org of THX.

Looks like Mickey's Christmas Carol got a very DNR-happy release.  We're not talking Sorcerer's bad, but damn if it isn't close.  Plus your standard cropping, but I'm less worried about that due to the fact that it was likely presented this way at one point.

So what's the recommended edition of this?  This is the first mention of Mickey's Christmas Carol in this thread.

What is this version better? and if so how is this release better then the 40th Anniversary BD?

Detailed Review about your edition.  ALL 'Exorcist' Blu Rays are the 2010 transfer.  The ONLY difference between yours and the other editions is the third disc with a few new exclusive special features.

I would love to have the new/current Blu-Ray, as is, but changing the ending (epilogue) to match the theatrical. Personally I feel ALL of the extra scenes (and the aggressive sound mix) benefit the film UNTIL the epilogue, where the stuff is a mood killer and just too boring. It's unneeded.

Are you talking about this release Matt?

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Exorcist-Blu-ray/57331/

I have this but it is still unopened, I want my Son to see it lol, he said nothing is scary and I wanted him to see this classic, also where exactly would you edit the extended back to the Theatrical? this actually could be a very easy edit.

If you're not "made of money" you should definitely go for this Region Free version:

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Exorcist-Blu-ray/68275/

What is version better?

That's a good question.  I'm not sure what the differences are with the special features but for me all I really care about are the movies themselves.  The Theatrical and Director's cuts should be the same on both of them.

Edit:   I'm definitely not saying the UK one is better it's just got what I want and for a much lower price.

Return of the Jedi: Radical Re-Edit (Released)

The problem I always found was, if Vader doesn't mention Leia why does Luke suddenly attack? Ator, a couple of pages back, solved this problem, but I haven't got round to editing it yet. It'll mean reediting the entire battle of Endor... not a particularly appealing thought.

Is it possible to get this theatrical version of Phantom Menace anymore?

If you have a usenet subscription it's still available on alt.binaries.starwars.

Go to www.binsearch.info and search - The Phantom Menace -Theatrical Edition - Adywan [Audio fixed] .    It's 530 days old.

Edit:  I recommend subscribing to 'Usenetserver' because it absolutely rocks.  Apparently other services have serious issues downloading old files.  I've had usenetserver for a long time and rarely have any issues.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Brilliant, thank you! I was starting to fear I'd have to recreate it from scratch.

EDIT: Well, I just found the non-corrupt original .mpg file, because I kept searching my computer for the word sabre and the corrupt version would always come up and thanks to your upload I knew to search for lightsabre instead. I just thought if I looked for sabre +.mpg, anything with lightsabre would automatically come up as well - apparently not. What's even weirder is that when I searched for Luke +.mpg, it hadn't come up either but as soon as I searched for the word lightsabre, it came up instantly.

Why do you insist on spelling 'sabre' the British way?  The American and Star Wars spelling is 'saber'.  Google will back me up on this.  I'm sorry it just bothers me since I've always been a spelling nut.

Despite the fact that I LOVE the laserdisc format, I must admit that I'd like to use it only when necessary - e.g. when there are no other HD available version... for example, I thought to use the BD for BATB instead of LD, but then I discovered that the BD is messed up... so, I reverted back to LD.

For BTTF, there are some HDTV rips that could be used; LDs could still be used as color references, plus of course for their marvelous soundtracks!

Yes, but like I mentioned above I'm interested in Parts II and III also.  The BDs of these are horrible and the only 'decent' HDTV rips available right now are the uncompressed HDnet versions which aren't really that good.

Well, I didn't realize people was still interested in project with laserdisc as the video source... and I'm happy! (^^,)

About BTTF [ruLes]: who knows, maybe if anybody else is interested... but I should receive the spanish, german and french soundtracks - even if I'm pretty sure someone is more than willing to do it, you know who I'm talking about, right?

I'm very interested.  I hope the project would cover all three movies though. :)
