About half way through checking the WP - here are the things I've noticed so far. Apologies if they have already been addressed or if they are correct the way they are.

Someone mentioned Hoth looking a bit purple and I agree, although it seems to be purple sky more than purple snow:

5780
12943
13646
14217
14547
14649
18427
38329

45761 to 46122 - Magenta flashes similar to ones fixed in Star Wars?

Falcon interior from 52992 - Everything seems way more saturated in closer shots, especially the lights and Han's lip.

Did you see this post, Harmy?  Could it possibly be a Purple Hoth? (okay a little hyperbole there)  At least three people think so.

God, I was positive it was gonna be the color of the snow on Hoth this time around.

After watching the workprint on my HDTV this was actually the only thing I was unsure about.  I thought Hoth was going to be more blue (which I've gotten used to) and so many discussions had come to the conclusion that it was originally blue much of the time.

The thing that really stood out for me was much of the time on Hoth it seemed to be closer to a shade of purple.  I'm surprised I'm the only one whose noticed this.

Ok, so I've been busily searching Usenet and the Spleen for copies or preservations of the original full screen pan and scan of the trilogy. I have already added Starkiller's 1982 Video Rental to my collection. What I am wondering is if there are similar transfers of Empire and ROTJ available. I guess what I am after is something akin to what I experienced growing up watching them for the first time. Anyone care to point me in the right direction for Empire and ROTJ? Many thanks!

Try "Dark_Jedi Full Screen LaserDisc" at your favorite usenet search engine

Which, if I'm not mistaken, will have to be www.binsearch.info.  (Just checked and they are all there, btw)

Is there a free program that can convert MKV over to an AVCHD?  I can't watch that great-looking Back to the Future DCP because the bitrate is too high for my computer to play smoothly.  I know I'd be sacrificing some quality, but I'm sure it will still look amazing as an AVCHD.

So, I'm done with the 25gb BD for the JSC trilogy. I've tested it on the PS3 slim for the last week and everything works as it should.  What's the best delivery format?  BDMV folder or ISO?

BDMV folder.  If you have a BD burner you can easily burn it with imgburn.  If you don't have a BD burner you can quickly convert the BDMV folder to AVCHD ,etc; without having to extract the files from the iso.  I'm not sure if there is any freeware out there for extracting iso's so I definitely think a BDMV folder would be the best way to go to accommodate both those with and without a BD burner.
