I’ve just made two MKVs, one with mkvtoolnix and the other with makemkv (so I can see the results). Can you give me a specific example of a problem with yours? It is certainly possible that mkvtoolnix is having difficulty joining together certain types of tracks while maintaining interleave points perhaps that’s the source of the problem?

One problem with mine was the audio syncing: notably while the admiral is mocking Vader’s religion and while Porkins says “I’m right with you Red 3”. There were other places but those two pop in mind. There were also horizontal video tears sprinkled throughout, ranging from minimal to very offensive. Those varied with each export, however.

You should try out makemkv. It’s free, easy to use, and I’ve only had great results with it.

Eh.

I like that album but Lightning Crashes is just ok. Maybe because I heard it 8,000,000 times on the radio but still.

Top only at a 6/10 is a crime, however.

And am I the only one who thinks Live went downhill right after that album? Kind of like Radiohead and Amnesiac.

I’m glad to see your opinion on Lightning Crashes and I’ve heard it a zillion times too but still think it’s amazing. Ever heard of ‘In Rainbows’(2007), which is one of Radiohead’s best albums with much acclaim and came after Amnesiac? I doubt you have.

Sorry, I mean Ok Computer, not Amnesiac. I’m obviously not into Radiohead that much.

Ok, fair enough. 😃

Let’s wait until we hear from the members that worked on it. The only reason it annoys me is because I’d like us to build a stronger base with Spleen and Blu when it comes to 35mm - if we support them they support us.

Could someone PM me to explain what “Blu” is, in this context?

Blu-Torrents.

Blu-Torrents is now defunct. The new site is https://blurg.xyz/.

I am just gonna post my unofficial x264 mkv of 2.7 on the spleen, but I need to have permission so that I can post it, so can I, just post it?

Pretty sure I wrote something earlier, while being helpful on how to compress your own version, stating very clearly to do so only for your own personal use and NOT to share it anywhere, ESPECIALLY since you don’t know what the Hell you are doing. For the love of God, the last thing you should actually do is share that anywhere, it would be a complete disservice to the Despecialized Edition effort. No one here wants you to do it or would be at all okay if you go ahead and do it anyway. If you like watching your own version that most of us who know more about video compression would consider unwatchable, that is good for you; please don’t contribute to the problem of us having to deal with complaints from people who get files like this and think the problems they encounter have anything to do with the creator-endorsed versions.

WORD

There’s enough clutter in the Star Wars section of the spleen as it is.

Is this edit still happening? Very interested in this!

The whole thing aired uncensored on HBO in January. A 1080i and 720p rip of this exist on public trackers.

I’ve looked everywhere for a 1080i rip (Usenet, torrent sites, tehparadox, etc,) but to no avail. I wish it existed but I believe the above mentioned is not true.

'Let It Be' - has anyone done done a quality preservation? (Released)

It looks like the rare unreleased “The Beatles - Let it Be (1992 film restoration)” is on Dailymotion.
For those not aware: this version of the movie is a direct transfer from the restoration done by Ron Furmanek in 1992, making this one the best image (new transfer from original negatives) and audio (mono on Twickenham section, glorious stereo afterwards)

It appears that the DVD of this from Rutracker has far better picture quality than the Dailymotion and the one from Dailymotion is severely cropped.
