The colors can look potentially great if would be corrected a bit, but the fake coreners are quite dissapointing. If anyone knows how to contact the creator, perhaps we could ask him to release it without the corners?
Sending a PM to the uploader might be a possibility.
But do corners mean the entire film is scanned? Or do corners mean it is cropped?
Regardless, it’s unusually bright. Between the brightness and the rounded corners I think it’s pretty much unwatchable. Shame…
Not only round corners but much of the movie is overly bright IMO.
On Cartoon Chaos they just added this: Song of the South 1946 [Thunderbean BD25]
This is a newer scan (2022) from a 35mm IB Technicolor print by Thunderbean. It restores a segment that was missing from the previous scan that is around.
What previous segment are they talking about that is missing?
It’s up now on the spleen.:
“It includes a sequence of about 25 seconds starting at around 54:22 that’s missing from the previous HD rip.”
It’s also cropped on the four corners like I’ve seen before on other releases like Puggo’s. I don’t understand why they do that. I’ve never seen a Song of the South 35mm cropped like that.
The previous 35mm scan had no round corners as well. So I guess it was also cropped?
What do you mean? I believe this (Thunderbean’s) is the first SotS with round corners.

Is the Lion King Laserdisc ‘2977 AS’ recommended like the other one?
https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/06338/2977-AS/Lion-King-The
There are 4:3 HD versions available to download on Usenet.
Do you think you might make a ‘smaller 1080p’ version of ANH Custom SE?
Is this movie any good?
The current BD is Ok but doesnt contain the right colors. Can i receive a link for this rework?
as is stated in the title of this thread it’s no longer available
Unless of course some random kind soul out there that got it while it was available shared it.
PM sent. Thanks!
“Audio 2: 5.1 AAC (source: 1997 DVD)”
AAC isn’t blu ray compliant. Why not AC3 instead? Is that still a concern? I figured most people play MKV as such.
It would be a concern for those who burn this to disc and want 5.1 surround. You say “most” but there are still those who like to burn movies to disc. I suppose there’s minimal quality loss if you convert the AAC to AC3 640kbps. This can be done with ffmpeg or eac3to I believe.
Edit: Actually, couldn’t you convert the AAC to PCM with zero quality loss? PCM of course being BD compliant.

To me a glaring omission, not to mention disrespectful.
I agree. I’m surprised you’re the first person I’ve seen pointing that out.
“Cast Away is one of many Zemeckis best works and must be preserved.” (original post)
My all time favorite movie is Back to the Future which is a Zemeckis Movie. Forrest Gump is a Zemeckis Movie. Both of these movies are great. Castaway was excruciating to watch in the theater. I don’t think I’ve ever watched anything so boring in my life. Nothing compares. Please someone here tell me what’s great about it.
Please send me the links to this. Thanks!

Only buying Superman II UHD if it’s the Lester cut.
Oh it’s including both cuts just mentioned what I found out about it and Superman the movie is being remastered so it’s not the same uhd.
According to digitalbits there has been no OFFICIAL announcement that both cuts are included yet but of course I hope you’re right.

I have it, it’s very much a proof of concept sort of thing. Some of the film added stands out from the main feature, it’s pretty high quality fanfilm stuff but when added to Return of the Jedi a lot of it stands out.
Sorry just checked, maybe not.
I have three that I snagged all around the same time, tagged on my computer as:
ROTJ radical when it irises out to the credits it says edited by Yads. mkv 1:54:28
ROTJ radical re-edit, when it irises out to the credits it says edited by Yads. mkv 1:49:26
ROTJ radical version 2, again irises out edit by Yads. mkv 1:50:08I think I am confusing this Yads guy with Ziggy, sorry.
The second one is the one that I mentioned that had the fan film stuff worked in with Boba Fett chasing down Han on Endor. It’s the most changed one of the three.
Yads is aka Daneditor. So you don’t “have it”. I’ve been here since 2011 and as far as I can tell there’s never been any type of release from ‘Ziggy’.
I’ve also never received a link from Ziggy or anyone else who claims to have seen it. Starting to wonder if this thing even exists.
+1
