Big departure from the original...now the fleet has 2 Battlestars??

I wonder if this means we're going to see Sebatian Spence (SciFi's First Wave) more often.

Also, I would have sworn there was a line in the commercials where Cain says "Target Galactica's Main Batteries" or something very close to that.
...
I didn't hear that line in either of the last 2 episodes.

What You're Reading Now: Revisited
Time
I just finished The Story of Science, Book One: Aristotle Leads the Way. Pretty interesting look at how perspectives of our Earth and the universe have changed over time.

Tonight, I start Black Rednecks and White Liberals by Thomas Sowell. It will be the first of his books I read. I had not heard of him until I saw him for about 10 minutes doing an interview on TV. I found those few minutes very interesting and ended up getting the book for Christmas.

I also got my hands on The Unofficial MacGyver How-To Handbook, which is an amusing read.

At 25, am I younger or older?

Younger Answer: When I was younger, I wanted to be a paleontologist...digging up and studying dinosaurs. (At this point, its only a hobby.) Then I got into computers.

Right now, if I could have any particular job, I think I'd want something similar to what I do now, but I'd prefer an older crowd with more computer knowledge. These kids after school are going to cause me to pull out my hair.
I could see myself with a LAN party center, offering business-related computer services and high-speed internet gaming...for a price.

Older Answer: What I do now is to monitor an 8-computer 'technology center' at my local library, which is a whole 0.3 miles from home, so I walk to work daily.

Some day I hope to
Time
I only have 1 long-term aspiration.

At some point, I would like to go to Europe and take a few weeks to eat my way across Southern Germany. In high school, I took German (though I've forgotten most of it) and one of my teachers talked about how every little town has its own recipes for wurst (sausage) and beer. Well, I'll probably not partake the beer, but I love meats of all kinds, and I would enjoy the chance to sample them all.

Other than that, I'm fairly content with my life as it is.

"HEY, I DIDN'T KNOW OPTIMUS PRIME WAS JEWISH."

Did you notice that they changed a line of the song from that episode?

On the DVD, before the episode was ever aired, the song went:
"Though by many they're abhored
Hebrew people I've adored
Even though they killed my Lord
I need a Jew "

But now, when that episode is broadcast, it goes:
"Though by many they're abhored
Hebrew people I've adored
I don't think they killed my Lord
I need a Jew"
It should be noted that Fox didn't even AIR that episode, even after that change. It never saw broadcast until Cartoon Network played it.

Death Star spotted by Cassini probe !!!

I scanned this image from my Banthatracks number 28, 1985. The blurb reads:
On November 12, 1980, scientists at Jet Propulsion Labratory were amazed as the image scanned across their monitor screens. As the picture of Saturn's moon 'Mimas' took shape, they realized it looked like another familiar celestial object--The Death Star.
Then, the caption for the image of Mimas says Office of Public Information, Jet Propulsion Labratory, California Institute of Technology, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Pasadena, California 91109

Some favorite moments of mine:

- Willy Wonka spoof, Peter hits his knee. Spends the next 3 minutes nursing it.

- The old man looking for his 'muscly-armed paper boy' episode. In particular, the answering machine at the end.

- The classic rebirth...with a list of every Fox show to debut then get cancelled by Fox.

SNOW
Time
If you are referring specifically to the most recent storm system (yesterday), Cleveland got rain. It was still cold, but not quite cold enough for snow.
The snow on the ground (from earlier in the week) did begin to melt, which turned into a problem today since it has now gotten cold enough for more snow and for the slush to freeze into ice.

Should Stanley Tookie Williams have been executed?

Well, come on, you were going to kill that man! Now, there are only 2 reasons to kill someone for a crime:

* Because he is a total menace to society and should be totally excluded from it.

* So it will scare people thinking of doing such crimes.

If you make him work as a slave as opposed to KILLING him, that will make both points valid. Besides, any human rights advocate should belive that killing is worse than being put to work. Also, don't they know that there are still slave labor over the world?
I can't believe I missed this point when I first read your post ric.

Jesse Jackson would sue the state of California if they even considered the idea of enslavement, especially if it was black Stanley 'Tookie' Williams.
