I LOVE this kind of phrases! (^^,)

OK, here you are the test I made: took the worst offender screenshot from UHE, the same frame from the MPEG2, then I ColourMatch'ed the UHE with the MPEG2 as color reference, a blur, a grain plate and voilà: almost watchable wax face!

Konnichiwa! (with moshi-moshi, mirai, monogatari my japanese language knowledge stops here...)

Here you are the file, reuploaded: http://www.sendspace.com/file/5gb215 (1.3MB)

I think the best thing will be that Twister111 will continue his work up to image 20; Sadako will start from image 21; when ready, you should cross check your work, to see if something could be improved or corrected?

Is it good for you?

Please, just don't forget to menton image filename!

Upscaling Robocop Criterion (Released)
Time

Sync'ing a laserdisc track perfectly with the BD video was a pain in the... you know what! (^^,)

But it's rewarding! DVD should be easier, though... I have never had a problem; when the DVD has missing frames - not many, let's say 2 or 3 - at reel changes, I simply add "null" frames with audio, and the soundtrack will stay in sync!

Still, nobody wrote anything about the test color grading I did... a simple "I hate it", or "I love it"... or also a "leave it alone" will be appreciated! (^^,)

DTS audio preservation .... UPDATE 07 May 2015 ... Work In Progress
Time

I agree, and I repeat my thanks to Jetrell Fo, Doombot and CapableMetal, to have provided some Cinema DTS tracks for some of my projects; hope to be again your "client" for some of my future projects! (^^,)

Keep working on this, guys, it's an important task and I'm glad people like you are working on this great project...

BRAVI!!!

OK, grain 2 is good, and I don't know why I have NOT chosen it first... maybe because I used the old one thinking it was THIS one?!? (^^,) too many files, too many versions to remember...

What about contrast? Is bad, or quite good?

DoomBot, your "ticket for test clip" is still valid... write time, or name a scene, and I'll do another test clip with grain 2.

As I watched and rewatched the test clips with added grain, I thought that this kind of grain plate is too subtle... I mean, grain should not be very noticeable, but only a bit; with the grain plate used until now, it was less than a bit...

So, I decided to test two new grain plates; they are similar, not very different when saw in static images, but quite noticeable in comparison to the old one; I must test them in motion!

[spoRv] projects - past and future
Time

I decided to abandon the [ruLes] mark; any further laserdisc related project will be released under the [spoRv] "trademark".

Added some new titles to provisional list of future releases:

  • Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem (BD with improving contrast)
  • Back to the Future (DCP video + LD soundtracks)
  • Independence Day Extended Edition (BD + DVD for extended scenes + LD soundtracks)

I'm thinking also about The Ring from D-Theater...

plus The Arrival (BD video with correct contrast & grain plate applied + LD soundtracks + LD extras) - to be announced soon.

Other ideas?

You have not to excuse: this is an hobby, not a work, and what you, I, all of us, is doing is volunteer and not paid so... don't worry!

And I understand you, as I have some health problems too lately - luckily not so bad; and I understand more the problems with pets - look at my new avatar!

I can't read japanese text in tumblr; probably is because I had to reinstall OS and forgot to install japanese language support... well, please make a reference for each image, using the original image title - like image 1 was season1_60626.JPG - it will be easier to me. OK for tumblr.

If I well understood, when there are only Google and/or Bing translation, then it could be (almost) exact, right?

Thanks again for your effort!
