Help Wanted: Is there someone who could record HDTV broadcastings?
Time

If so, there is a desperate needing to record Harry Potter saga - it would be broadcasted today, tomorrow and on Monday (2017 May 27, 28, 29), on Freeform - http://freeform.go.com - schedule: http://ew.com/tv/2017/05/26/memorial-day-weekend-tv-marathons-2017

The only requirements are that the movies should be full screen 16:9, and the recording should be 1080i/p, a bit-perfect copy would be preferable, but an high quality capture will do.

HP 7 (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1) is the most wanted, but the others would be welcome as well!

Thanks in advance!!!

Notes:

The fullscreen DVDs of HP 1,2,4,5,6 are 1.33:1 open matte, but, apart in rare cases where there is a bit more image (and a lot less), they are in practice contained within the 1.78:1 frame; for this reason - and also because they are low res - they will not be taken in consideration

HP 3 on DVD is pan & scan; on HD is mainly pan&scan but has more image than fullscreen DVD on both sides, even if cropped in comparison to widescreen; it retains few lines of image more on top and bottom

HP 6 is the same, but retains a bit more few lines in comparison; actually, this is applicable only to pan&scan scenes; there are many scenes which are open matte, can’t quantify them for the moment, but are not surely scarce like ep. 7

HP 1 2 3 4 6 do need IVTC, while 5 does not; HP 8 has some residual deinterlace artefact; HDTV would benefit of deblocking, denoise, and a grain plate, as well as the WEBdl, even if for the latter difference is less evident

HP 6 7 8 have logo that would be wiped away using a second (or third) source

HP 7 best currently available version is 720p - a 1080i/p HDTV would be very welcome!

HP 8: an eventual “IMAX” reconstruction could be taken in consideration as a side project

HP 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 HDTV and HP 5 WEBdl would be used as main sources

Of course, the usual 5 languages (audio and subtitle tracks) would be added.

Star Wars saga - Extra Extended Edition (1080p) (* unfinished project / WIP *)
Time

To whom it may concern: I would be back on projects soon; sadly, even with a new PC, the encoding time is still quite high - maybe because now I raised the bar, and attempting to actually do an encode that would last few days, while before may have lasted for weeks… for example, planned HP saga encoding time would take from three to four weeks, only of encoding time 24/7!

During that time project working would be impossible… that’s why a second PC would solve the question - one to work actively on projects, and, once ready, the second used just for encoding; add to that the new 4TB HDD is almost full!

So, if someone kind enough would donate a good workstation with plenty of HDD space, I’m here! 😄

[Fundamental Collection] covers
Time

I started to redesign the covers (and disc label) from scratch; I’ve taken inspiration for the layout (as many here and out of here) from the minimal design of the Criterion covers - I know, not the most original, I must admit, but I think final result is indeed quite interesting; of course, I’m waiting for your opinions.

Inner cover is the same of the outer one - I was tired to design specular version of the outer cover, add to this I’m lazy, too 😉 - apart it replace the sinopsys and features with the chapter list; disc label use the same front cover art. I’ve tried to keep everything as much minimal as possible.

Each release would get its own post; they will be posted whenever ready.

"Three Brothers" Harry Potter animation open matte restoration (Released)
Time

Mixed the two sources to get the best possible quality - increased details, lower noise; sadly, as they have different color grading, and low bitrates, the logo (actually, the TWO logos) are barely visible in few instances… but if you think that main source is 720p@2000kbps and second is 576p@600kbps, result is not that bad… https://mega.nz/#!56IC0QwL!hgRwt3ynv9Y7vD-w1qm0DJBFxF8zQsKVkejzIhUlz4c

So, if someone is aware of a better source, please drop me a PM!
