This edit helps cement the idea that these people are a family now, instead of Rey being completely alone on a desert planet at the end. Her friends are there waiting for her : )
It also helps explain why BB-8 is there, he’s just a curious little friend : )

I would have to build the shots around those original model shots, but yes that is possible.
I decided to try my hand in making some RotJ-era Coruscant stuff.
This shot would be part of a scene that combines dialogue from ‘Palpatine’s Arrival’ and footage from the “What of the reports of the rebel fleet massing near Sullust?” scenes.
The throne room, in this hypothetical edit, would be at the top of the former Jedi Temple, so new effects would need to be generated to show what’s outside the windows.
An idea I had would be that the area around the palace would be caught in a storm for the entire movie until there’s a turn in the tide of battle, where the sun starts shining on the characters in the throne room.
That’s always been my dream edit idea.

Believe or not, it is in fact a miniature, but I guess 'round these parts this might be common knowledge.
They made miniatures as a reference for the CG modeling. Felucia in the film, as far as I can tell, is entirely digital.
