Solo - Han Movie NON-SPOILER thread
Time

I got reserved seating for this one because 3 movies worth of lines have sort of overstayed their welcome. The place is set to be packed.

For Force Awakens, the line nearly surrounded the whole building! For Rogue One it was only about to the corner of the theater. For The Last Jedi it was about half of that. I wouldn’t really be surprised if I didn’t see a line this time.

Something I love about seeing these movies on opening night is the audience engagement. Something gets me truly giddy clapping and cheering along with a huge crowd. I hope that I’ll get that again tonight.

The politics in the Prequels are stupid. Why didn’t Amidala allow the Republic to investigate the invasion? Or, better yet, why didn’t the two Jedi Knights, who witnessed the invasion firsthand, back up her claims?

Why does everyone suddenly want to give Palpy emergency powers? It’s not like the Separatists actually did anything at that point.

Why does nobody object to Palpatine’s sudden transformation of the Republic into an Empire?

It was an insult towards me actually. All my posts on Peterson have been eloquent and reasonable. I don’t care anymore because you admitted yourself that you’re unwilling to read them, but here’s the part of the VICE interview on makeup. It’s at about the five and a half minute mark.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsz0DHwzAvc

When asked if he thinks women who want to be taken seriously in the workplace and who wear makeup are being hypocritical, Peterson says yes. I don’t agree with him, but at least he answered directly and didn’t waffle or equivocate, which is what he’s often accused of doing.

But that’s an insane stance. Being direct about is irrelevant IMO.

It’s definitely an extremely conservative viewpoint.

If conservative = misogynist, sure.

Thinking that makeup isn’t necessary in the workplace is misogynist. Ha, yeah, okay.

This is why words don’t mean anything anymore, the supposed “blue wave” coming this November is going to fall flat on its face, and Trump stands a good chance of being reelected in 2020.

Hopefully he’ll be able to lose the popular vote by less than 2.8 million votes this time.

A win by Electoral College without the popular vote is still a win. I guess some people haven’t figured that out yet.

I’m well aware. I didn’t say otherwise. I just think it’s wonderful that Trump lost the popular vote.

You can’t forget that he actually won the popular vote, it’s just that millions of illegals registered to vote:

I’m kidding, if my sarcasm isn’t already apparent.

Anyways, I have respect for Dr. Peterson in the fact that he is obviously well-educated, and that he has the right to hold his beliefs. I also have the right to think that he’s a dickhead.

EDIT: Here’s a quote from Dr. Peterson:

“The idea that women were oppressed throughout history is an appalling theory.”

I had a dream that my family went out to see the new Avengers, and at the end there was a trailer for the next movie, and for some reason my dad decided to go and see it as soon as we walked out of the theatre (I dunno why it was already released). For whatever reason he wanted to watch it in the safety of his car, but both our car and a rental we had were parked a few floors above the theatre, and instead of driving down a ramp, my dad decided to just drive the cars off a ledge and crash into the floor beneath us. At that point I realised it was unrealistic for any of this to be happening, so I woke up.

That’s hilarious.

I hate how he constantly says something to the tune of “neo-liberal marxists”. That’s his catch phrase, almost. It doesn’t mean anything! Apparently anyone who cares about women’s rights or trans rights is a “neo-liberal Marxist.”

He conducts himself well in the recorded arguments I’ve seen, but his actual opinions are stupid.
