I would like a version with Star Wars Episode I and Episode II crawls with Rogue One being Star Wars Episode III for my personal alternate Prequel trilogy.
My plan is 2 Episodes from this season, 2 from season 2 and Rogue One to be the the episode 5 finale!
I started watching the workprint, but real life has gotten in the way and I havenât finished it yet, but I did want to make a few comments on what I have watched so far.
The crawl is mostly good, but you can lose the last paragraph. There isnât that much tell in the official crawls, and besides we actually get that in the âfilmâ itself.
I understand why youâre cutting the sister mention as the subplot doesnât appear to be going anywhere at all this season and if it does pick up in season 2 the flashbacks can always be incorporated there. The problem is that in this opening scene in the bar, thereâs clearly missing a transition. It goes from the two officers grousing at Cassian/cut to him walking outside once more. Viewers who watched it know that the woman comes back and tells him the non-info about his sister. But non-viewers are left with⌠well, nothing. Like I said without anything there it just feels like itâs missing something. I dunno if you can have the woman walking back to him, an implication that something happens with her, I donât know. Itâs just very obvious something is cut there.
Cutting most of the young Cassian flashbacks? THANK YOU.
I still have more, but so far, itâs incredibly seamless other than that one section there. It just feels like Iâm watching a movie. Iâm almost an hour into it, and itâs just excellently done. You are so very good at this.
Thanks Arabian.
The crawl is a bit of a placeholder at the moment. I want to stick to the classical 3 paragraph crawl, bit I agree that it needs more work.
The bar scene is the main issue given that Iâll be cutting the sister subplot.
What Iâd love to do is edit it so that he goes into the bar looking for a âbuyerâ. It may be possible but I havenât had a deep look into it. Once I go back to the finishing Iâll have a proper look at whether thatâs possible.
The way I cut it in the Workprint was done to imply that he was there for pleasure, but once the security guards started to take an interest in him, he decided to leave. I agree that itâs not ideal.
So, Iâve checked the workprint and I must say - very good work.
I like how you cut a lot of boring stuff from eps 1-3. Personally, Iâd cut even more, but still, good job. You left what needed to be left, you cut what bothered me the most. I like the structure, the pacing is great, looks like an actual movie. Also, Iâve been following your fanedit career since the first trailer of your TCW movie edit and I have to say that you improved a lot in terms of pacing and removing stuff. I love your âArmy of the Republicâ but I always skip the first 35min cause itâs mostly a boring filler that could and should have been cut. Now, I think you mastered the art of sacrificing some scenes for better pacing and more coherent movie structure.
Anyway, great job as always đ
Tbh, I wait more for the 2nd movie, that part of the season was just so epic â¤ď¸ Canât wait to see how you will deal with those episodes;)After seeing what you did with âAndorâ I really hope one day youâll improve Obi-wan for us đ
Thanks so much for the input. It was really difficult deciding what to keep, particularly the Aldhani scenes. Iâd love to have cut more but didnât want to lose the character moments, particularly Nemik and Skeen.
Out of interest, did the Mon Mothma scenes work for you? I cut a lot out and moved up a couple of scenes from later episodes to tie them in better with the heist.
Iâm currently working in a Workprint for episode 2. Thatâs a challenge with so many separate plots in play, and having all of Cyrilâs Coruscant scenes to fit in!
Just wanted to say I like your title a lot.
I always try to put a lot of thought into things like that, mine is a two-fer and I called my Ep1 âFrom a Dusty World to the Starsâ becuase I liked the play on Stardust.
ThanksâŚâŚ Iâm struggling with the title to episode II.
Iâd love to see your edit đ wouldnt miss it đ
I agree that the first arc should be heavily cut.
EDIT
Since we currently have The Mando, TBOBB, Obi-wan (which I have no doubt one day you ll touch as well đ), Andor and Ahsoka on the way; maybe youâd reconsider dropping the âepisodicâ style and try to make them all more like âA Star Wars Storyâ? Or just to skip âEpisodeâ in the title and then Just leave SW logo there and the title 9f the movie?
It d be more consistent 8 think. Cause if u do a chronological order, you have Episodes 1-3, Solo, Obi-wan, Andor Episodes 1-X (3-4, I imagine), RO, Episodes 4-6,Mando EP 1-3,then probably Ahsoka Episode I (what if its only one and thats it?), then Eps 7-9.
I have considered losing the episode numbers, but I feel that with Mando and Andor having have 4+ movies, without the episode numbers it could get confusing. Kenobi (when completed) will just be Kenobi.
Having seen how season 1 plays out I have completed my first cut. Headline points of the edit are:
Iâm looking for a couple of viewers to give feedback on the first cut before locking it down and tightening uo some tricky music transitions. PM if interested.
Plenty of clouds around in Kenobi.
This is an absolute masterpiece. I really loved it. I never finished the series because of all the unnecessaries moments. Your edit made it perfect and I donât feel like something is missing.
Thank you for your amazing job.
Thanks for your kind words. Feedback like this makes these projects worth the effort!
This is amazing. Thanks.
Here is a link to the first 30 minutes or so, to give an idea of what Iâm aiming for. The audio has been edited too but some of the music transitions arenât as tight as they will be for the final edit. The 30 minutes includes the opening logos and crawl, all of the episode 1 footage and the first few scenes from episode 2. Iâm hoping to have the first 3 episodes put together by the end of the weekend.

So whilst waiting for the next Mandoverse series, Iâd thought Iâd have a stab at the Andor series. I absolutely love this series as it is, but I think it will make for an epic movie series with some of the fat trimmed and the plot sped up.
My aim is to create 2 movies from season one (and then 2 or 3 from season 2). Its gonna really push things to condense season one down to 2 movies so the likely runtime for each will be approaching 3 hours. I considered making 3 movies, but the material doesnât fit with a 3 movie structure. Unlike my Mando edits, the movies will have a new opening which will fit in better with the feel of the series.
We have a natural time jump in Cassianâs story between episodes 7 and 8 which will determine the content of the 2 movies.
Episode 1: Spark of Rebellion

Uncompressed 1080 MP4 [9.6GB]

Here is a list of the changes:
Broad Changes
The Movie has been edited to introduce a time skip between this and Andor Episode 1. During the time skip the Vel has disposed of the hauler, the stolen credits have been hidden by the rebel network, Dedra has continued her investigation into the rebels and Andor has assumed a new identity.
Andor has been captured off screen to eliminate the Niamos scenes. His capture is explained in the opening text.
The remaining elements of Episode 7 have been used as the opening scenes to set up that everyone is trying to hunt down Andor, unaware that he is en route to an Imperial prison under an assumed name.
Syrilâs Coruscant scenes that were cut from the previous edit are utilised but his mother is cut completely.
Vel now leaves Coruscant after she is ordered to find Andor and doesnt return. Her connection to Mon Mothma is absent.
Linus Mosk is cut completely. This gives Syrilâs character more strength and autonomy. Syrilâs presence on Ferrix is largely cut. He only appears when he rescues Dedra.
Andorâs return to Ferrix from EPisode 7 is utilised as two dream flashback sequences whilst heâs on Narkina-5. These scenes are essential for Andor and Marrvaâs character arcs and the ISBâs investigations but donât work well if used chronologically.
Scenes involving Mon Mothma and her family are largely cut. Only the basic plot requiring her to sacrifice her daughter remains.
There has been a vast restructuring in this edit with a lot of scenes moved around. This required numerous new audio transitions requiring combinations of audio rebuild, rescore and use of audio revurb to make them seemless.
Detailed Changes
Opening sequence and text to match Episode 1
Syrilâs arrival on Coruscant from EP4 is intercut with Kleya meeting with Vel from EP7 and Dedra briefing Yularen and the ISB from EP8. Syril arrives at the appartment but his mother is cut.
The sequnce ends with Syril in his room looking at the hologram of Andor. Here I have cut together two seperate scenes to give it length and emotianl weight. the audio has been rebuilt and scored using a segment of the Episode 5 Main theme.
This sequence sets up the theme of the movieâŚâŚ everyone is looking for Andor.
Episode 8
Sharp cut to Andor arriving on Narkina. The arrival sequence is edited to be continuous as the ISB scene is part of the opening sequence.
Cut to Syril arriving for his first day at the Bureau of Standards from EP7. The external shot has been removed and replaced with a repeat shot from within the bureau with rebuilt audio to remove intro music.
Cut to Andor in his prison uniform, being delivered to his unit. The sequence is shortened to remove the uneccessary interplay between the guards about staffing levels.
The âsprint segment" on the factory floor has been cut.
Cut from Andorâs shocked face to Syril at his Bureau work station from EP7. Use of revurb on the machiinery audio leads nicely into the silence of the Bureau. The audio in the Bureau scene has been rebuilt to remove the music. The monotonous background hum of the Bureau works much better to show Syrilâs plight following the events of Episode 1.
Cut to Andor on the bridge at the end of the shift. The orientation sequence plays out as one continuous scene with the Mon Mothma scenes removed and placed later in the edit. Iâve used Syrils scenes as the juxaposition to Andor rather than the Mon Mothma scenes. Mon Mothma has no connection to Andor, whereas Syrilâs arc is driven entriely by his obsession with Andor.
We cut from Andor reflecting in the darkness of his pod to the first of 2 flashback scenes using footage of his return to Ferrix from EP7. This first flashback is of Andor returning to Maarvaâs house and her agreeing to leave ferrix with him. The audio is rebuilt to remove the music. Sound effects are added as an intro to the flashback.
Cut to shot of the hot prison floor and pan to Andor in the dark leading to the "30 shifts laterâ timejump. This scene is used upto the point where the prisoners leave the shower and pick up their clothing.
Cut to Syril at the Bureau as the ISB arrive to take him in for questioning. End cue from the Fuel purity track is used as the inro transition. The audio at the end of the scene is rebuilt to remove the music and a version of Syril Suite music cue from Episode 11 is used as the outro music.
Hard cut straight to Syril in the ISB interrogation room as Dedra arrives. Audio at the start is rebuilt to remove the music, allowing the music from the previous scene to transition through.
Cut to the prison as a normal shift unfolds.
Cut to Syrilâs second interrogation scene.
Cut to Ferrix scenes of Brasso and Bix with Maarva and the watching Vel and Sinta. Vel and Sintaâs scene is heavily edited to remove reference to Vel leaving Sinta on her own.
Ferrix and Luthen/Cleya scenes play out in sequence but with the scene of Vel leaving Ferrix being cut and removing Luthen ânot knowing what he knowsâ when talking about Andor.
Cut to nightime prison scene where the prisoner is about to commit suicide. Added in shot of Andor sleeping. Then cut to the second Ferrix Flashback scene where Maarva tells Andor she is staying on Ferrix. The Flashback of young Andor v the Clones is removed to avoid having a flashback within a flashback - it is used later. Cut Maarva âThatâs just love⌠nothing you can do about thatâ - those lines never sat well with me. Edit Andorâs exit to cut references to Andorâs sister. AUdio rebuilt and the end of the Maarvaâs Rebellion track used as the ooutro music.
Cut back to a reversed, trimmed shot of the prison at nightime and Andor sleeping as the fellow prisoner jumps to his death.
Cut back to Ferrix scene where Bix is spotted - âGet Heeeeeerâ is cut.
Cut to Luthen and Saw. Part of Sawâs rant is removed.
Cut to Bixâs capture and meeting with Dedra.
Cut to the Prison floorâŚ. Only the very start of this scene is used and combined with the frist prison scene of Episode 9 to create a single scene.
Episode 9
First prison scene moved up to provide a spacer between the Bix/Dedra scene at the end of the last episode and start of this episode. Audio revurb used to create an ominous audio transition that cuts straight to Dedra turning around to face Bix.
Audio rebuilt at the start of the Bix/Dedra scene to remove the music, allowing the revurb audio to transition through.
The torture scenes have been removed. Iâve gone with the ANH tactic with the torture being implied rather than shown. It also helped with the pacing. We see the suggestion of the torture, the results of it and the information gained from it.
Mon Mothma/Vel scenes cut with these scenes replaced with the Mon Mothma political gathering scenes from EP8. These follow on from her senate scene with the middle of the three scenes being cut completely.
Syrilâs mother is cut.
The ISB scene where Dedra briefs Partagaz on Bixâs interrogation is moved back and follows on from the final Mothma scene. This scene then transitions with a wipe to the next day at the Narkia 5 prison.
The Syril/Dedra scene is edited to make Syril appear less creepy. âHave you been waiting out hereâŚâŚ Yesâ, âBeing in your presenceâ and âI sense it, I know itâ have been cut. This scene is cut into 2 parts. As Dedra walks into the ISB building we cut to the next Prison floor scene and then back to Dedra as she arrives at her office.
Removed the prison doctor âHeâs had a massive strokeâ - I dont like âearthyâ langage in my Star Wars!
Moved the last ISB briefing scene to the end to provide a spacer scene between the prison scene at the end of this episode and the start of the next.
Episode 10
Cut Ulafâs body being taken through the factory floor.
Cut Mon Mothma âIâd feel far more comfotable paying you for your troubleâ - sounds like something out of a west end musical!
Cut first 2 clips of Andor cutting the pipe - we have already seen him working on that pipe but it looks untouched.
Trim the sequence of the new prisoner being prepped for dropping onto the floor - speeds up the sequenece.
Trimmed the breakout sequence. The floor is activated a lot earlier, as it should have been.
Cut the shot of water dripping through the ceiling of another floor.
Cut Kino hesitating and not knowing what to say over tannoy.
Trimmed Lonniâs journey in the lift.
Cut references to Lonniâs child.
Cut to Melshi and Andor running⌠audio rebuilt and re-scored using âTell me theyâre leavingâ. Wipe transition to Chapter 11 scene at Maarvaâs house.
Episode 11
Cut Andor and Melshi on the cliff.
Cut Andor and Melshiâs capture and escape with the aliens - poorly executed scenes. Having their escape happen off screen works just as well.
Cut Vel and Kleya scene.
Cut Vel and Mon Mothma scene.
Cut Brasso - B2 scene.
Cut scene where Bix is asked about Anto Kreeger.
Cut Syril/Linus scene.
Keep scene of Syril emptying his safe but cut his mother leaving the apartment.
Cut Melchi from the Niamos scene - implies that Melchi and Andor already agreed to separate before this point.
Move the Fondor battle scene to the end to provide a better transition into the next episode.
Episode 12
Cut first scene of Wilmon making the bomb.
Edit Vel/Cinta scene to remove references to Vel coming back - she has been there the whole time.
Edit scene when Andor touches his fatherâs brick so that the flashback is of him being killed by the Clone Troopers - provides a more powerful resolution to the story.
Cut Luthen speeder sequence.
Cut all scenes involving Linus and Cyril. Cyrilsâ presence on Ferrix is unknown until the point where he rescues Deedra.
Trim the funeral band procession to speed up the pacing.
Cut the extended pause during Maarvaâs hologram speech.
Cut Bix refusing to leave with Andor.
Add post credits Death Star scene as the final scene before cut to credits.
Hello there
Iâm very interested by this piece of work, would it be possible to have a link ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who could help !

This film is not only very well edited, but also, for me, it fixes the biggest mistake that Boba Fett and his Din and Grogu-centric chapters had: making them meet again without generating a tension that gives weight to the reunion. If in the middle of the series of another character you introduce as a secondary plot what is the main one of another, it feels strange. However in your films, taking that reunion to the end of a third film without Grogu appearing until then, you feel that in relation to the previous ones there is a weight and a burden for the separation. It feels that the protagonist is Mando, the plot is dilated and the ending works better. Anyway, you have made my new canon of how I am going to see these series (single episodes that shine apart).
The audio mix in this one works perfectly for me, I donât notice any difference with the Disney + versions and the transitions between plots are smooth and elegant.
Thanks Warhorn. I think most people found the Grogu-Mando reunion odd, and it is probably the only misstep so far in Mandyâs story. What I ultimately want to do is move the reunion to the start of the next Movie, but that will depend on what Season 3 entails.
Spectacular! I would say that it even has a better rhythm than the first, and although the changes have hurt me more in this one (I love episode 7 of the second season), seeing it I understand that it is impossible to integrate the story in another way. I loved the way of integrating the Boba Fett plot, it feels completely organic knowing the nature of the third part (which I havenât been able to see yet, but Iâm looking forward to it).
The only problem I have noticed is the sound. In the parts with music it is more noticeable: it is as if it had applied a noise reducer that distorts the general loudness. These days I have been putting the film in Premiere to change some parts with music because otherwise it seems to me a fantastic film.
Congratulations, another great job. đ
This was a lot more of a struggle to edit into a movie. There was a lot I would have liked to have included, but for time and structural reasons had to be cut. The Ahsoka/Mando team up, episode 6 and episode 4 have some really great moments.
In terms of the sound issues, I have watched it back a few times and didnât pick up on anything. Weâre there any specific time stamps where itâs a problem?
Amazing job. I have enjoyed every minute of the movie and I feel that all the omissions and changes regarding the chapters are very well done. The editing work in dialogues, the rearrangement of scenes, the use of music, the way of spinning the chapters⌠I sweat thinking about doing it. As a Star Wars standalone this would be a blast. Congratulations, it is a 100% enjoyable movie.
Thanks for the feedback. Season 1 is definitely the most conducive to making a feature length movie and the end result is a pretty satisfying 3-act edit.
The most recent files are in Google drive now. PM if interested.
Have you considered incorporating Shamookâs redone VFX of Lukeâs first entrance in the Mandalorian Season 2 Finale? Some shots donât look good as far as the mouth movements go but I believe I using a few re-done Shamook shots could really help bridge the Luke we see in the Mandalorian with the more realistic Luke seen in the Book of Boba Fett?
I considered it but couldnât find an adequate quality version.
Version 3 now completed and available as 1080.mov, mkv and Blu-ray.
In the end I didnât re-instate the battle at the Corvus fortress. It never felt a necessary part of the story and details the plot. The movie runs so much better without it.
Instead Iâll slightly alter the Mando-Armourer dialogue in EP3 regarding the beskar spear. It doesnât need to have come from a Jedi.
Apologies for the silence on this thread. Now that EP1 V3 is done Iâm tinkering with this to put in the new logo, add in the Aksoka duel and add in Boba retrieving Slave 1. Itâs mostly done, so will be available soon.
Loved the V3. It seems truly complete now.
I totally agree. Hopefully I can leave this one alone now!

All links now up and running. Luckily the Bluray rendered without a problem - very strange!
So after a week of trying to sort out the rendering issue Iâve had to come up with a very unsatisfactory workaround of rendering the project in two halves and then reimporting them to FCP and rendering that.
Anyway, the 1080 is done and is uploading to Google Drive, so will be available once its been processed, which usually takes 24 hours!
Then Iâll sort the BR render.
Here is the new artwork and updated chapter list.
If youâre looking to make a chronological edit of the 4 arcs separately, or splitting the season into 2 edits itâs a good time to get ideas together.
Iâll be doing an edit of this series but with 7 hours of footage itâs too early for me to know how to approach it.
My main questions at the moment are:
1 edit or 2?
Are the flashbacks needed or not?
How will the 4 arcs connect?
Iâve been floating ideas around and the main one Iâm playing with at the moment is to set up the scene with the opening crawl and jump straight to the Security Force arriving at Ferrix. Episode 3 can then largely play out as the opening act.
Itâll certainly be fun to speculate and discuss over the next 2 months. Canât wait for tomorrowâs episode.
