I was thinking about AotC today and how it ends. I've concluded that the wedding scene should be removed. If their love is supposed to be "secret" and "forbidden", then why have an official wedding? With records, witnesses, etc. -- it's no good.

I don't want to lose the scene completely. I was thinking it could be added to Anakin's vision in RotS. Start with the wedding and have it morph into the nightmare. I think it would give it more of an emotional impact there, as well as making it more surreal.

btw, on the walk up scene, r u referring to the droids?

davnes did an edit a while back that had luke's head pasted over anakins in the scene of AOTC where anakin is riding the speeder bike. thus, luke's arrival is shown on a speeder bike.

Yes I was thinking about the walk up with the droids. I'm not sure why a Hutt would like Tatooine, they're supposed to like swamps right? So having having private, swampy gardens in a desert would be a way for him to flaunt his wealth.

Here's an idea: what if the sarlecc pit wasn't native? I could see it in one of those sunken gardens in the picture I posted. It makes more sense than this monster just hoping an animal wonders into/is sacrificed to it.

Yes I saw Davnes post, and I thought it would be pretty cool. AotC would have to be changed so it wouldn't seem like a repeat, but I see no problem with that. Better that Luke has a cool entrance than more angst from Anakin.

Very nice ideas Skye, but I dont think Jabba has his hand in everything, he sort of seemed "bigger" in the PT than in the OT.

In TPM he opens the pod races and everyone loves (?) him but later he seems more like a boss that is living the good life away from things and the Empire.

Or does this seem wrong?

But yes, that walk up for Jabbas palace would be very nice indeed.

How about a legal face to his business to throw off the Imperial IRS? :P

At this point it just becomes a game of 'make up a random explanation."

There is not a single line of dialog or plot point in either trilogy to give the impression that lightsaber color is particuarly important, save the implication that baddies have red (although that's not important enough for Anakin/Vader to make a point of trading his blue saber in).

Consequently, one can say anything they want about lightsaber colors, and any arguments carries just about the same weight as any other, since it's all based on nothing.

My understanding was it was meant to be a simple blue/good red/bad dynamic in the OT, but they needed a green lightsaber to show up in exterior fights against the sky in ROTJ, and in the PT Lucas just didn't give a damn, and let Jackson have a purple lightsaber for no reason, senind a million fanboys into seizures to come up with various explanations.

I suppose that is the best way to approach it. It doesn't add to the story really. Lord, it's so easy to become GL about all of this, trying to explain what doesn't need explaining.

Can someone post the link where all of the mock ups have been saved? I can't remember who was doing it.

i wouldnt say blue sabres would be dumbing it down, but id like to make the PT look visually ancestrical to ANH somehow. red lasers and blue sabres could be one of many ways of doing that.

casual viewers coped because they just didnt care i guess. maybe theyre better off.;)

oh what a can of worms this website is!

With the blasters, sure. They're massed produced for manufactured armies, clone and droid. You wouldn't expect a lot of variety. Red for regular, blue for ion is fine.

Lightsabers are personalized and I find it hard to believe that Luke would be the first to try green. I was just thinking that if the colors represented different schools of Jedi/Sith philosophy, then the differences between PT and OT would be more understandable. And possibly show what was lost with the Jedi purge.

Windu's purple saber does seem like a dumbing down because all it does is make it easier to pick him out in a fight. So either change his or add more purple so it doesn't seem like a marketing ploy. His character should be able remarkable for reasons other than his favorite color.

Back on topic: would there be a way to give the other council member's more of a role? Right now in the vanilla version, it all seems to fall on Windu and Yoda. Perhaps have Anakin consult with someone other than Yoda about his dream? Spread the blame around a bit?

I'm sorry to dig this up again but I thought I'd add my two cents to the lightsaber color debate.

My thinking is that the color of a jedi's lightsaber is a way to indicate who taught them as a padawan. So Luke has green because Yoda has green. Anakin blue because Obiwan has blue. Granted Qui Gon's is green but since he's a more open minded Jedi, he would want his students to decide for themselves. Someone would have to add more purple sabers to show who Windu taught. So there you go -  tradition without making it visually dull to watch or turning it into KoToR.

If you want to be really radical about it, make Qui Gon's red, as kind of a visual protest against the idea that color could really indicate a jedi's morality. Since Anakin could kill children without switching from blue, it could be a way to show how gray things were during this time period. I don't think any one will actually do this since it would be very confusing to the casual viewer. But these fan edits aren't really for casual fans.

Honestly, I can understand the argument of the old order insisting that everyone have blue, but would Luke care if everyone had green? I figure he just wanted to distance himself from his father, past and present.

Lucas and co seem to be content to let us be as long as we're not attempting to profit. Ady has made it clear that these donations are only donations, that he's not making any profit off them, and that he is not selling the film.

OK. I was wondering because other Lucas-based projects have flat out refused to take any donations. He's been doing this a while so I guess he's safe.

Edit: I'm not seeing the link to PayPal in his signature...

Just small things here and there in their appeances, since they inherently look childish, to try and minimize that.

Isn't there also the problem of Luke and Han essentially laughing at them when they first see the Ewoks? Would they have to be Cantinzed too? Because I never saw respect from the rebels with the Ewoks and their moon. It's more, "Well since you're here, why don't you go do X and keep out of the way?".

Hi! I decided to stop lurking and join the discussion. I have read almost all of this thread (sad I know) and I would love to see some of these ideas become reality.

About the Ben/Luke conversation, someone suggested that it be cut altogether, and I think I have to agree. I don't mind Leia being a Skywalker - it's pretty much set in stone now, but it would be nice if Luke showed some of that famed Jedi insight and just knew that Leia was his sister.

So how about this: Luke training on Dagobah, Yoda dies, Luke being unsure, cut to Vader & DS, back to Luke preparing to leave, R2 beeps a message, show X-wings monitor with message from Leia or Threepio about the rescue, Luke heads to Tatooine. I think it would be easier to piece together.
