Why can't the clones have souls? Couldn't you use it as a basis for the moral conflict a young jedi might face in deciding what is right? I thought part of the problem with the PT was that you had these huge battles of "fake" beings fighting with no real emotional attachment to any of them.

Perhaps this is borrowing too much from EU (but my knowledge of that is fairly limited in that area...), but I was thinking that the problem with clones could be that they are telepathic to a limited degree - say planet wide communication with each other but not galaxy. Lets say they're also stupider than the average sentient which makes them easier to control.

Now, Palpatine could introduce his own modified clones into the population, ones that were smarter who could influence the others to do whatever - over throw the local government, attack ships, etc. And these 'infected' clones would travel to planets, contaminate the local clones, and move on causing chaos along the way.

From the outside, this could look like an independent movement. The clones want their freedom and will do what it takes to get it. The Republic brass wants it stamped out immediately. The pacifists want to grant them more rights.

So what about the Jedi? I was thinking that they could be the only group that can pick out the modified clones (but not know that they're artificial until it's too late). So who do they side with? The clones threaten the whole galaxy so they have to be destroyed. But on the other hand they seem to be asking for the same rights as other sentient beings, perhaps there can be some sort of agreement with them? Which side Anakin falls on is debatable. Yoda and Obi-wan I think should side with the more peaceful option.

Ultimately, they have to be destroyed, because we don't see them in the OT and this could be the reason why - droids don't go crazy like the clones can.

Either way, both reckoned that they would certainly 'escalate things' with both the store and 'Gateway'.

Good luck, and I guess we'll all now know to query the sellers about the whole 'Warranty card'/'extra cover' scenario a bit more in future, at the point when we first pay for something.

Does anyone know the email address or phone number to Gatway's CEO? Sometimes a polite email can shame them into doing the right thing.

I like what you did with the Mace/Palpatine conversation.

It's kind of weird how Anakin just stands there for most of it. Could you cut it so that Palpatine says "the Jedi are taking over!"  just as Anakin is entering the room, and then the force lightning just as he reaches them? It would give him something to do while he's being indecisive.

or

Something could be done to make Mace seem to be the aggressor in this situation so that the force lightning is more of a defensive move. If he's trying to tempt Anakin, he needs to be more sympathetic. His change from weak/frail to FORCE LIGHTING!! is too fast.

Otherwise, good job.  Less whining is good thing.

But whatever is done it needs to be subtle (a full body floating apparition blocking all of Palpatine's blasts would look really corny and without new footage very fake, the PT has enough heads tacked on to CGI bodies as it is).

Actually, if the Yoda/Palpatine fight is cut from RotS, some of Yoda's defensive posturing could be used. I'm not sure what would work for Obiwan.

But yes, the key word is subtle. As though the force lighting is the only thing illuminating them until poof! they're defeated and disappear.

Edit: This would be cool.

Maybe he can't see them but can only see the partial deflection of the bolts.

There is a big thing made in the PT about the power of the dark side focused in a few individuals blinding the many Jedi to the powers of the Sith.

Maybe this works in reverse.

Only one Jedi and two Sith means the balance has shifted and Palpatine's cock-sure powers are weakening.

So when he refers to Luke's feeble skills he is assuming Luke is trying to reflect the blasts himself and not that he is getting some limited help.

Vader on the other hand may be able to see them as he holds the scales.

I was suggesting making it subtle (Monroville found my mockup, not the last word hopefully in the concept, too subtle to make out in a frozen image).

Palpatine is so snarly that he could notice and still keep the same expression and say the same things.

Hmm. Well the emperor not being able to see them would make sense, he never had a close connection with Ben or Yoda -- unless trying to kill them counts. But how do you show that Vader understands? Or is that the point? Are you looking for a way to illustrate his conflict without a flashback? I wish I knew how to make mock-ups, I'd like to see this in action.

But the palace is what tells us the most about Jabba. All we know about him is that he's a crime boss at least high enough up the totem pole to have a bounty on Solo's head, and Han doesn't necessarily seem like a big time operator. That's all we know prior to ROTJ's opening.

I don't see where the argument that the palace is somehow inappropriate comes from, since 90% of what we learn about Jabba's character is from the palace he lives in.

I see your point, but if he wasn't that big of an operator, why would Han be more worried about paying Jabba back than getting caught by the Empire? If all he had to do was avoid Tatooine, he should have just stayed with the Rebellion that's willing to protect him from the stray bounty hunters.

Since I do see him as having influence beyond Tatooine, a sleazy little strip club in the middle of no where seems odd. You could go to Mos Eisley for that. I don't want CGI just for CGI. I do think that showing more money at least would make taking him out seem more impressive.

Side question: Looking at what I wrote, is inTERgalatic correct or is InTRAgalatic better?

So if the name Skywalker is erased from the prequels, what reason do we have to follow Anakin for three movies? I don't think there is enough material to make it about Obiwan.

I don't suppose we could make Jar Jar Obiwan's "fallen disciple"? (kidding! unless you know how to make it work...)

So what is it that these movies absolutely must have to work?

I can't remember who first mentioned it here but there was a suggestion of the Tantive IV [or whatever it was in rots] going to Dagobah and the Skywalker twins being born there.

I'd much rather have Yoda simply stay behind on the planet after this. I think it's simpler than having him travel there solo.

I like it too but I never saw a reason as to why they had to land there. Yoda going into hiding makes sense; Organa, Obiwan, and Yoda meeting together one last time makes sense. But why Dagobah? Just because Yoda is there in ESB? Seems rather circular.

Perhaps Yoda should just disappear? It's sadder and more appropriate to have him leave without a real plan, with just the force to guide him.

As it is now, the PT is using the OT as a way to pad out the story. It needs to be less of a grocery list and more of a mystery.

Wow! what a surprise! I've believed the project to be "dead" when at some point I've seen no interest at all!

I see now that I was wrong (and sad to notice it only now).

I'll be happy to resume the work! The folder "Fixed Universe" in my computer it's still there with the WIP on Dark Empire.

Yay! I'm rereading the Thrawn trilogy, so this is perfect.

I was thinking to change the boring mood of this shot, and making it more stylised moody, as the heroes are closing to dark gangster paths.

Its a concept and i made two versions, One with sail barge and one with not.

i tried to open a bit the scale and create a visible path that leads to the palace.

Playing around with Mcquarie's moods..

That would be a lot better. I've been thinking that the area around his palace should have huge, tacky signs of wealth and power. Kind of like Harod in Jesus Christ Super Star. For an intergalactic crime boss, Jabba's palace seems a little too understated.
