Yeah, the scout walkers are more brute force, like a tank.

Yeah, cool idea with the rain.
Beauteeful. And that's just a mockup.
Yeah, the swamp background was actually a miniature built by the ILM model shop.
Nice work bingowings.
I like vaderios enhancement as-it is. I wouldn't add anything more. it's just enough to liven up the interior, but not distract from the action. great job vaderios.
vaderios
Still i like the new SE Xwings take off from yavin instead of dots
Yeah, i think I do too. And it doesn't add anything to the existing sequence, just replaces an existing shot with something more dynamic.
Wow. His name is Gino. I wonder if that's Gino Acevedo. He used to work with Rick Baker.
Imagine the rebels landing on Endor in their shuttle. Instead they show it flying and then cut. Now it's parked.
PT Lucas would've shown the shuttle coming in for a landing. Needless.
Lucas really got into the whole thing with the SW SEs. Like the one you mentioned from ESB SE and also the Falcon lifting off from Bay 94 in SW. I liked the old when when it just blasted off and the troopers look up.
I missed that suggestion bingowings. But it would seem to add a little gravitas to the whole thing if things don't quite work out for them.
The existing cut is too cookie cutter, A,B,C, by the numbers if you know what I mean. The heroes outwit Jabba too easily IMHO.
And you could still start off with Jabba's palace. Then go to Vader/Dagobah. Then back to Jabba's with Luke arriving.
Well just only keep the ones that establish something.....like a new planet or something. But we dont need to be shown every single landing on Coruscant for instance. Move things forward a little. Break a landing up with an interior shot once in a while. Lucas just resorted to an fx shot each time. Boring.
What I want to know is why 3PO thinks Lando and Chewbacca never returned from Jabba's palace?
Boushh then shows up with Chewbacca.
?
Take Luke out of it completely at first. Have him leave Dagobah and then go to Tatooine once Leia's plan goes to hell.
It would also give Jabba more weight as a villain if he screws up the heroes plans initially and Luke has to go in and rescue them.
Have the heores split up in the beginning. Luke is on Dagobah finishing his training. Leia and the rest are off rescuing Han.
But Jabba forces Luke to come to the rescue.
I dont know. Im making it up as I go. :p
Double post. Gahhh!
ROTS is the biggest offender. Landing pad mania!
Ripplin, I think that might've been the original longer PBS version of Making the Saga specials back in '83 or '84 that you're thinking of.
On gripe I have with the PT is the sheer number of landing pad scenes. It's like Lucas fell in love with showing a ship landing in the OT and went overboard on it with the PT. We don't need to see a ship take off and land. be more creative. Maybe show a landing from the cockpit for once...or better yet, cut to the ship already parked...shocking
I agree with that. I like the idea of the CW just flaring up in the outer-mid rim when TPM starts and somehow inserting a few dialogue and visual "tie-ins" to suggest so.
sketch rob, Barton was sound editor for ROTS, not film. He did do a rough pass on the film, but Barton cut the final with Lucas.
Ben the butcher did enough of a number on both the sound and film of AOTC to bring about the demotion.
He did redeem himself with Wall-E and this month's Star Trek though.
One thing Ive thought is having nearly the whole federation thing take place in one episode, droids and all.
Here's a question to ask:
In Star Wars, Lucas dropped us right into the middle of an ongoing battle. There was all this stuff before that happened off screen before the start, yet the part where we started made us not worry about all that stuff.
We didn't see the first major victory by the rebels. We didn't see the stealing of the plans, etc.
So, at what point should TPM start? In my opinion it should start after the invasion is over. It's nonviolent anyway(at least in the final cut). So what did we miss?
I like the idea of mirroring, not copying Star Wars. Then you have Episode 3 mirror ROTJ by inverting that whole story.
The reason ILM didnt do it has nothing to do with ILM but everything to do with Lucas and the budget he gave them.
ChainsawAsh, Ben Burnt didnt work on ROTS as an editor. Just sound.
I really like that. Great work.
That's right. Open it on Dagobah and walla
Can you imagine a prequel character commentary track for the OT starring Ric Olie and Prequel Yoda?
My head would explode at Yoda's dialogue.
"Luke's hand, looped off it he has"
I have my Behind the Magic CD at home in my desk drawer. What did you need to know Ripplin?
I also have the one released later on the OT trilogy.
That was Ralph Brown? :o
Do we really need a siren? He already gave the evacuation order. People are fleeing. We get it already.
Put Ric Olie in the shot then for cryin' out loud.
"Look, it's an evacuation and the people are leaving!"
