kind of difficult since Disney owns Lucasfilm .
kind of difficult since Disney owns Lucasfilm .
^ but at least the prequels are watchable , right ?
The battle starts too suddenly. Let the scene linger in silence everyone behind the shields for a moment.
^I disagree , I think the very few seconds of the door unlocking at the beginning you did is very good
The only I can think of right now (I’m sure there are much worse):
A.P.E (1976).
Space Warriors 2000 (1985))
Magic Lizard (1985).
Curse of the Screaming Dead (1982).
Guinea Pig: Mermaid in a Manhole (1988).
Nekromantik (1987) .
Zombi Holocaust (1981).
Tintorera (1977).
^Mermaid in a manhole sounds like a bad porno movie
^ at the time I watched that episode of TCW , I thought the Priestesses were the Whills , who , as many know , were mentioned in the prologue to the original Star Wars novel and the saga referred to as the journal of the Whills . This concept made it into Rogue One in that The characters of Baze and Chirrut are guardians of the Whills .Chirrut even mentions " the force of others " which is a concept from early Lucas story outlines and drafts .
I’m pretty sure John Knoll came up with the idea …https://www.wired.com/2016/11/john-knoll-rogue-one-star-wars/
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes
Hot Shots and Hot Shots part Deux
^I agree . it would have been like midichlorians on steroids
all I can say is I think I would much rather have what we got than that “microbiotic” world…https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2018/06/george-lucas-says-fans-would-have-hated-his-star-wars-sequel-trilogy/
Dark Force Rising by Kerr is my go to edit of Revenge Of The Sith , it streamlines the story to be more focused on Anakin’s fall and cuts out the childish and cringe worthy moments you mention .
^I have seen a lot of variations on those ideas in a lot of mags in the early 80’s . Obi -1 was a fairly common one ,and I remember reading a pretty neat article in Cinefex right after the special editions came out but before the prequels , that outlined where they thought the prequel trilogy was going . I think they mentioned Luke’s ROTJ outfit as standard Jedi attire , which is what I always thought it was .I will try and dig up some of my books and scan some articles soon
I will just follow the story through online reviews and comments here , the animation style does not really appeal to me either , wish they would go for a more realistic approach like Final Fantasy or even the style of some of the DC animated films . I can’t see signing up for another streaming service for this . Even when the Mandalorian comes out , I may just wait for a season blu ray release or something .What the hell ever happened to free , quality tv ? oh yeah , that does not exist anymore .
This guy gets it ! best analysis I have seen for one of the most misunderstood scenes in the new film that I have seen , I have owned a copy of The Hero with a thousand faces since 1988 and it has been the template for the heroe’s journey in film for decades now and TlJ indeed follows the structure the structure being 1. the call to adventure , refusal of the call ,supernatural aid , the crossing of the first threshhold, the belly of the whale 2.Initiation ; the trials , the meeting with the godess, woman as the temptress, atonement with the father ,apotheosis, the ultimate boon 3.The Return;and finally , where this part of the saga leaves us …refusal of the return and the magic flight . there are many more chapters in the book with common threads to many world mythologies and religions and I believe these will come into play by episode 9…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXK2oJ3tA-8
^ that sounds similar to what the (Canon) Jedi of the prequels did , except they were not in hiding .sounds like a narrative thread that will tie in to the sequel trilogy , ie, Luke’s desire to wipe the slate clean as he saw the hypocrisy and hubris of the Jedi order taking babies from their families and indoctrinating them .Ben and Yoda never told him of this in the OT ( the prequels were mostly retro active anyway ) , maybe Luke learned of this info after Ben Solo wiped out his temple , that being the case , it would go a long way to shedding more light on why he decided to wash his hands of it all . I would be pretty miffed after all he went through if that were the case . but , that’s just like , my opinion man .
^thank you
speaking of Mr. Best …here is his latest field notes …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhKqhpzxXks
this fits the thread subject well I think , although I am not sure if the writer is aware of the contributions of Ahmed Best to the character of Jar Jar and his subsequent harassment for playing the Gungan…https://revengeofthefans.com/2018/06/05/loving-what-you-love-without-hating-what-you-dont-surviving-fandom-in-2018/
Awesome , thank you for compiling this great resource that will help new members as well as us long time members of the site as well as giving a shout out to it’s contributors over the years
Ren needs to fire a proton torpedo down Rey’s exhaust port.
^ stay on target 😃
“No, Leia was definitely not Luke’s sister circa TESB. There are deleted scenes that illustrate this in spades - as well as the Marvel adaptation of the film. It was a love triangle, pure and simple.”- this is a correct statement and there are plenty of articles in publications such as Star Wars Insider , Starlog , Cinefex , Fantastic films etc to back it up as well as the making of books by J.W.Rinzler . I have many of these publications in storage boxes and will have to spend some time digging them up .
This is a pretty good video on just that topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-qi4OhCii4
You know, back in the pre-TLJ days I thought Reylo was idiotic but TLJ goes to great lengths to set it up. Finn, who I believed would end up with Rey by the end, is now with Rose and Poe’s got BB8.
While it might be a cliché, it is an interesting and a new place of the franchise to go. If they do it right, it could help Ep 9. But doing it right would be very hard to pull off, and they might see the entire saga fall apart if they fail. Something to keep in the back of our minds, I guess.
This is a great video that explains why, but I really don’t like the title of the video. I thought the best videos the showcase this were the three-part theory video series by the now defunct YouTuber, Vincent Vendetta.
I never saw Rey and Finn as a possible couple in The Force Awakens. I just saw them as friends. I didn’t hate that he ended up with Rose, though. I have faith that J.J. Abrams will wrap things nicely. I actually think that if the two survive in the end, with Ben being redeemed, it could help set up a possible fourth trilogy focused on their kids if Disney and Lucasfilm ever think about making another trilogy.
^ at about 20 seconds into that video , I felt like shipping my pants
Unfortunately, I feel that the “Reylo” fans, such as fangirls who draw fan art of the two characters seen in the video are making this story direction look like garbage. That is one of the reasons why I think some of the most popular Star Wars fans out there, who are not toxic, do not mention it, because they see it as a fangirl shipping dream of theirs. I’m sorry if I sounded hateful, I didn’t mean to come off as that. “Shipping my pants” is hilarious!
^you did not sound hateful .I may have developed a sarcastic streak recently due to site osmosis and the death of a friend so sorry to everybody if I have not seemed myself of late .

that’s the thing though , Disney has stated that this will be the final episodic Star wars installment , There is going to be a new trilogy by Rian Johnson ,which has stalled , that has nothing to do with the Skywalker saga . I think they have to wrap up plot points with episode 9 . I may be wrong though , I suppose they could change their minds .
