Just don’t get in an altercation over the alterations 😃 Interesting thread .
Sorry for your loss , I have lost a lot of loved ones in recent years myself and it stings . They are carry on in our hearts and memories .Sincere Condolences .
^ me too ! That is a great poster with a strong Ralph McQuarrie influence , I wish they had credited the artist though . Does anybody know who made it ?
Yeah, Maybe William Shatner was on to something after all …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUL7q8eyig8
^ awesome ! reminds me of a similar scrapbook I made as a kid , wish I still had it , it had newspaper articles and all the toy ads I could find. I really like that Star Wars to Jedi advert with the line art of Vader , never seen that before ! And for a lark , I called the toll free NPR number on the Empire Radio advert , it is active as a home cell phone service company !
^ and it appears to be stuck on to a 2-1-B torso ! Never caught that before .

and this is that featurette…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQzltwQwJxg
Yes! OMG! I haven’t seen this in forever! So it’s basically an unreleased web doc. Kind of surprising they didn’t throw this on the bonus feature blu ray.
Thanks for the link!
^ you’re welcome , always cool to find something you have not seen in ages .
^ Be funny if someone with a modern lcd tv bought that today , not knowing the difference between what widescreen and “full screen " meant back then and got it cued up only to go " What the hell are those black bars on the sides!? , I thought it said FULL screen !” 😃

^ That same featurette also appears on the final vhs release of the OT from 2000 at the beginning of a new hope . I have that box set . It is just the 97 special editions without the special edition branding and photoshop versions of the Struzan posters on the tape covers …this set…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNo8FUiZKv8
If you watched all of it , all of over 120 episodes , how did it fail to maintain your attention entirely ?
Mala, how much of the cgi version have you watched in order to make a fair comparison ? I actually like both series very much. Tartokovsky’s is fantastic and really feels like Star Wars , the cgi series also greatly expands upon the friendship between Obi-Wan and Anakin and has some great drama . It reminds me a lot of the original Marvel Star Wars comic series …there were some goofy one offs but as a whole , it was also epic. See the Landing at point Rain , The Mortis Trilogy and pretty much all of the lost missions season six and you may see what I am talking about . Although I will say , Grevious has never been more badass than in the 2d animated series and I wish he would have been more like that in the movies
I recently bought a vhs copy of episode 2 at a goodwill here in the U.S. , it came out at the same time as the dvd and had this as a bonus feature that was exclusive to the vhs in order to entice fans to double dip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrPh8Tlbybc
Can you take a photo of it? Looks like you have something that even http://www.swonvideo.com/ doesn’t have a copy of!
this is the one I have , my old phone takes crappy pics so I found this link that shows it…https://www.depop.com/products/jennisettles-sealed-star-wars-episode/ and mine has a Walmart sticker rather than Toys R Us . It retailed for $15.24 at Walmart in the U.S. , I got mine for two dollars .
^I like it too and it is not too far off from the plot of the novel Bloodline which explains a lot about the political state of the galaxy and Leia’s motivation for forming the resistance six years before TFA . It’s a great read and one of the best of the new novels I have read .
ROTS was never released on vhs in the U.S.

but the real question is …is the Kaminoan a Lama Su ? 😃
I’ve said it before and I will say it again , this issue never bothered me , the original Marvel Star Wars series was considered non canon for a long time after it ended , a lot of articles I read looked upon it as being ridiculous around the early 90’s …and then the EU realized it had some merit and brought back characters like Lumiya decades later , then there was the whole issue of the Mandalorians having their back stories changed continuously ,all of this happened long before the Disney acquisition . Now they have even brought back Valance The Hunter from that original Marvel series . I just watch and read the stuff I like and ignore the stuff I don’t . The funny thing is , all of those books branded “Legends” can still be found in most major bookstores . They had to spend the money to reprint them , so to me , it shows they care on some level.
And there was this gem…

Wow , just read that article and while it got a lot wrong , it did predict the episode 1 plot of Darth Vader starting out as a slave boy , and the pain inducing collar is not too unlike the chip that blows you up if you try to escape . Interesting that they knew the name Anakin Skywalker at this time . Where did that name first appear ?
That’s a good question, as I never heard it before ROTJ came out. Maybe Lucas dropped it in an interview at some point?
Star Wars Poster Monthly also went off on a lot of crazy speculative tangents, and that was an officially licensed publication! The only one I recall off the top of my head was one about the OT troopers being clones and how they were trained. Not sure if they were getting notes from Lucasfilm or making stuff up.
There are only three issues online that I know of.

Wow , nice find Silverwook ! I remember reading some of the poster monthly’s that I borrowed from a friend back in the early 80’s after Empire came out and being fascinated by the photos in them , I vividly remember one of the Imperial Walkers coming over the ridge .Thank you for posting that link , talk about rabbit holes ! Just read some of this one and it mentions the 12 film saga as well as the love triangle between Luke , Han and Leia …http://www.theforce.net/image_popup/image_popup_global.asp?Image=timetales/misc/arcana/pos15-02.jpg

^ well , the Death Star did have it’s own four note motif…and then there is this …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo9GN--eoGk
^ lol . And yeah , I dig Simonson’s style on it’s own as well …his covers for the series were his pure art and they were fantastic ! He also did the full page splash of the Tarkin battle station in issue 51 by himself . Great link ZkinandBonez ! I see it originated from a fan of the Two True Freaks podcast , That one also covered this entire series in their Star Wars Monthly Mondays segments , I listened to the whole thing years ago and it is truly a delight . I had almost forgotten about it . And they came back with a review of the new/retro issue 108 ! I will have to give that one a listen . Here is a link to their stuff…http://www.twotruefreaks.com/shows.php?show=6
^ Thanks Biggs ! Glad you are enjoying it . This is hands down my favorite site on the web , incredible community, resources and talent on all the boards here .
^ Nice posts dude ! Those are my favorite pinups from the six issue adaptation of Empire , the one of Boba Fett by Walt Simonson is pretty awesome too , check it out if you get a chance
^awesome find !
