I prefer the original music , although this is an interesting experiment and provides a new experience . That is just me though . I am interested in seeing/hearing how you incorporate the ending of this scene with the one that comes afterward in the space battle though .

Just viewed part one of this edit you sent me via pm . Sorry for the delay, have not been feeling well . First thoughts …Some of the music choices were…unexpected . I like how you deepened Jar Jar’s voice to make him a bit less goofy in the scenes he is in and I like the GodFather 2 style flashback editing . The only thing that took me out of it were a few of the sound effects you threw in to highlight some moments you obviously had some problems with . I chuckled a bit ,admittedly, but your description of this edit implied a more serious tone to me . I think there are ways you can edit around some of those scenes or drop some of them all together and still make the narrative work . I will give more feedback when I watch the second part . Overall it was an enjoyable experience so far . Thank you for sharing .

would love to see an edit of Conan The Destroyer…I have only found info for one edit online and it seems hard to obtain .Something that puts back in a lot of the score from the original 1982 CTB would be nice. and cut down the goofy bits with Malak the thief and excises the camel scene where Malak says " remember that "? or some such nonsense . I mean,WTF Malak , you weren’t even there !

gotta go with Mark Hamill …it was Luke’s story and struggles that invested me in the OT and his journey from immature farm boy to mature Jedi Knight resonated the most with me .

It bugs me when anyone names an edit " The ant-cringe" whatever . It assumes that everyone has the same opinion on what makes something cringe worthy . Maybe "My anti-cringe edit " would be a better way to title such things . But that’s just like , my opinion man . not gonna lose any sleep over it .

^ totally agree ! When the 1997 Special edition was announced , this was the thing I most wanted to see and I was really bummed out when it did not happen . First time I got to see the Luke /Biggs Anchorhead scenes was on the Behind The Magic cd-rom a year later . That storybook had me imagining what it would have been like in the film for 20 years at that point .

And as I said above, there was basically a rape scene in the 1974 rough draft with a “half-naked” Leia and the “Urellian trappers”, which was indecent enough that JW Rinzler shied away from describing it on the official SW site.

I really think it’s your own assumption that, since SW is “family-friendly” now, it must have always been that way from the very beginning. The evidence suggests otherwise.

because Lucas conceived the film as a retelling of the serials of his youth and wanted to give kids a modern fairy tale mythology and has been quoted many times as saying so . George Lucas in an interview in the New York Times, published on the 12th of September 1976:

It's for young people. 'Graffiti' was for 16-year-olds; this is for 14-year-olds. Young people don't have a fantasy life anymore, not the way we did. All they've got is Kojak and Dirty Harry. There's all these kids running around wanting to be killer cops.

^sorry , but as an artist who has been in many life drawing classes , there is nothing in these sketches to support your claim . What you are seeing is thumbnails in the first three , devoid of detail and meant to block out a scene,and in the final images ,those are construction lines for building up the figure . Mcquarrie and many other working artists studied anatomy and in order to draw a clothed figure , the underlying structure is first established in order to accurately portray how the drapery falls upon it . Had that been a completely finished painting from that drawing , those lines would not be there .

I like the idea of Rey and Kylo Ren battling on the Death Star wreckage being intercut with the resistance engaging the Sith fleet ! Sounds like a cool edit !

I often hear the popular opinion that only the even numbered Star Trek films of the original movies are the good ones . I disagree…I just watched Star Trek The Motion Picture (1979)again last night and I think it is highly underrated . I think it is like 2001 A Space Odyssey on steroids ! It’s trippy as hell and has a poignant story . Some complain about the pacing being too slow ,and I used to be in that camp , but watching it again , I remembered that it had been 10 years since the original tv series ended .This is the audiences re introduction into that world and they are meant to experience the same sense of wonder and awe as the characters in the movie themselves experience .Plus , I genuinely appreciate spending time in thought provoking slow burners such as Bladerunner and Watchmen etc .I know George Lucas has been quoted as saying that the problem with some film makers is that they spend too much time on sets and settings and not enough on story , but the best of them make the settings and the worlds part of the story , almost characters themselves.

Thank you ! I actually started thinking about making book covers while making it .Now to try and find some book publishers that I can submit my own art samples to . Any suggestions from people on here ?
