Maybe they've had the new transfer ready for years. We did see the new Yoda as early as 2005.

yes they have. this was documented in an interview years ago that they had the HD transfer ready for a Blu-Ray release

But specifically for Menace, right? Because if they'd been working on it for a while (by the time the Yoda clip came out the film was already six years old), then maybe since then they've been working on Clones and Sith, and haven't reached the OT yet.

No, they were talking about the OT. That was done and ready to go, so in other words they wouldn't be doing anything else to it.

Ah, I see what you're saying now. Like someone else had said, I guess it's like the 2006 DVDs: Lucas had some old Laserdiscs to use, so why bother with anything else? Just like how now he has those multi-year-old transfers (would that transfer even look as good as a transfer today would?).

I agree, I don't believe this trailer is any indication at all of what the set will look like, but people like to complain anyways instead of just waiting.

ok then, answer me this: If the trailer is no indication of what the blu-ray set will look like and that they have just used stock footage from the old releases, as some people have said, then why have they used the new transfer for TPM? Wouldn't that be the old footage too?

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

lol, not sure if this has been mentioned, but I'm listening to the center audio channel of ESB (Adywan's Theatrical Reconstruction, though this is probably the case in all versions)... I'm listening to Vader's speech to Luke just after the reveal, and you can actually hear Jones taking in breaths before the lines. Obviously, since it's Vader talking this shouldn't be heard.

Is it gonna be fixed at all?,

FANTASTIC! But what else would we expect?

Some notes:

1. Yoda's blink at 0:42 or so looks a bit off... maybe it's just a little bit too slow?

2. After Luke fails at raising the X-Wing, is there any way to make the disappointed lowering of Yoda's ears a bit smoother? It's always seemed a bit choppy to me puppet-wise (if that makes any sense).

3. When Yoda says "Judge me by my size, do you?", his eyes move to look at Luke half way through the line. But shouldn't he be looking at Luke the whole line (and the ones in that angle before then, too)? Why would he be staring off into nothingness while directly talking to Luke until the eye movement?

4. Another puppet-motion thing, but could Yoda's right hand at around 2:45 when he moves it towards his chest... could that be smoothed a bit, too?

5. Could it be more obvious that Yoda climbs up onto that ledge/rock to lift the X-Wing?

I know most of these were in the original, too, but I've just noticed them upon watching the clip.

Keep up the great work, best of luck to you, Ady!!

Bob, me again:)

Have you considered, so as to give Anakin's character a little more depth, to have him go to his home (or padme's) after Palpatine's reveal, instead of going right to inform Windu... so his turn wouldn't be a decission taken at the time hi cuts out windu, but we know more remarkably that he's confused... I mean, inserting the scene of "something's happening, I'm not the Jedi I should be" right after Palpatine's office scene. Pros I've found on this:

1) showing that Anakin's actual "circle of trust" is his wife, not the Council, which means giving more depth to his relationship with padme WITHOUT the employment of any wooden dialogue

2) showing how confused Anakin is by the content of the scene

3) showing it not only by the content of the scene, but by knowing he told the emperor he'd go to windu and he went to padme's instead.

4) making Anakin a political actor (he's balancing his personal interests over his duty during a major part of the film, instead of having him do it only when he finally turns.

Besides, by putting that scene there, it can leave the spectator thinking that Padme could suspect, at some point, what's going on... and if you delete the shot of Obi Wan boarding Padme's ship without his knowledge, it could even give more meaning to "you're with him, you will not take her from me" line in Mustafar... so as to make us doubt about Padme's role in this whole game (the same idea that's expressed in the Emperor/Vader holochat in ESB). And, this would, of course, increase Anakin's hate for the Jedis by giving an actual and tangible reason.

Cons:

How to get windu to the Palpatine's office... perhaps you could twist the holo-conference to make it seem that right after grievous death, the Jedi would remove Palpatine, no matter what he does.

That's quite brilliant. And plus, the way the scene ends with Anakin promising Padme she won't die, it's almost as if that's when he would make up his mind (and thus why he would be crying later on in the temple room, because he'd know what's about to happen). From there, two things could happen.

Path 1:

-After Anakin talks to Padme, cut to the holo conference, and then somehow without a rough cut, get to Anakin talking to Windu. Only issue here is why Anakin would warn Windu if he's already made up his mind.

Path 2:

Like Mithrandir said, twist the holo conference so that the Jedi would arrest Palpatine after Grievous' death no matter what, and then have Anakin talk to Windu but NOT warn him about Palpatine's power, setting up a trap for Windu.

So it would change the whole thing in that Anakin makes up his mind to turn away from the Jedi while talking to the reason he would in the first place, Padme, and then until the Palpatine duel, sets up the trap for Mace to go face Palpatine, who'd be unaware of Palpatine's true powers. Only issue there would be Mace's lack of alarm when Palpatine goes all dark-side.

Help needed extracting files? Extracting wants extra part.
Time

I just finished downloading the "White Star Extended Edition" of Titanic the other day from fanedit, but upon extracting the rar's and opening the resulting folders, I was met with five new .rar's in both folders (one for each of the two discs of the set). I tried extracting the first part in each of them (as I did the original .rar's to get the two folders), and it keeps asking for a Part 6 rar in each folder, but there are only five parts.

Help!

Certainly anyone who'd watched and paid attention to the OT would have known that back in 1999.

Not true - the name "Palpatine" is never said once in the OT. Without things like the close up on Palpatine at the end of Qui-Gon's pyre, all the audience would have been able to guess is that Sidious and the Emperor are one in the same, but not that Sidious and the Emperor and Palpatine are.

Has it been considered changing Luke's pronunciation of Tatooine at the end? I'm sure Hamill has said it right at some point after countless interviews through the years.

Someone already asked that a couple hundred pages back. I stumbled upon it earlier this morning.

Adywan decided that, just like Han and Leia's names have multiple pronunciations, the planet name may be pronounced differently as well. He said he is leaving it how it is.

And considering that Luke is a native, his pronunciation may actually be correct.

haha, in how many threads can one actually say something was posted a couple hundred pages back? lol

Anyways, a fair answer. Thanks! :)

Ady, when Luke's leaving Dagobah and he goes off the scene and Yoda and Ben rest and the have the reveal that there's another "hope"... are you planing to do something (add some breeze, or a slight tremblor) to make it more denotative of the situation (a fighter taking off)?

I don't know how a breeze or tremor could even be seen. It's nothing but darkness, a puppet fading in and out, and a disembodied voice. Not much to be effected.

Info & Editing Feedback Wanted: for My Music Video...
Time

I really had no idea what other part of the forum to put this in. I know there’s a lot in this video, but seeing as how editing is a huge focus of this forum, the editing in this video is what I’d like feedback on the most!!

FIRST AND FOREMOST: I don’t think I can dance and sing, let alone as well as Michael Jackson, the original artist of the song featured in this video, “Black Or White”. This was simply for fun, a way of expressing myself in ways I’d never even dreamed of before. Just don’t hate on the vocals or moves or compare me to Jackson - I know I’m not a pro by any means.

However, editing is a HUGE passion of mine, and it is that feature of this video that I’d like some feedback on. 😃

Thanks a ton!

We get the name anakin in ROTJ.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I've recently thought that Ben says "Annie was a good friend." in ANH - not "and he" as I thought before - which would make ANH the first mention of Skywalker Sr's (nick)name. You could argue it was poorly pronounced, but it was Alec Guiness!
