Idea: The Phantom Tollbooth (animated, 1970) - a preservation?
Time

I just discovered that MGM/Warners did an animated version of Norton Juster’s excellent book “The Phantom Tollbooth” back in 1970. I was surprised to find that Chuck Jones, Abe Levitow, and Mel Blanc were involved, which is like a who’s who of classic WB animation. TPT was one of my favorite books as a kid, so I would love to see this.

Here’s the thing, it’s only available on VHS, and that’s out of print. I would be willing to purchase the VHS if someone would be interested in doing a VHS>DVD preservation. I’ll have the VHS shipped directly to you, I have no use for it. All I’d want is a copy of the finished product. If you’re interested in tackling the project, please PM me!

Dawn Of The Dead Ultimate Edition Volume 2-UPDATE Discs 1-4 (Released)
Time
Thanks DJ! Very much appreciated!!! And of course thanks to Meedermow as well! I've enjoyed the first two discs very much, I'm sure this one will be no exception.

Any chance it might appear at the other place... the D place? You know, the one that doesn't make me wait 6hrs to start downloading because I have a .923 ratio, thereby making it even more difficult to improve my stats by preventing me from jumping on new stuff as early as possible?

thanks again!

MODS: Receiving subscription notices for deleted DJ threads
Time
If I should be posting this somewhere else, I apologize. I don't see a General Help forum. Anyway, I'm receiving email after email notifying me about new posts in the recently deleted dark_jedi threads. The link I'm receiving is http://www.originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=11&threadid=5740 but when I click it I get a page saying:

Sorry, we were unable to locate the object requested.

Error Code: 102

I don't see this thread on my subscription list anymore, so I can't unsubscribe. I don't know how everyone else is getting to the thread to post to it, but clearly I'm not so fortunate. Sure would be nice if I wasn't getting subscription updates for it, though, it's getting rather irritating.

Again, my apologies if there is somewhere else I should have posted this.

thanks,
Ron Moses

Dawn Of The Dead Ultimate Edition Volume 2-UPDATE Discs 1-4 (Released)

I watched most of disc 2 and all of disc 1 with the Savini commentary last night, and I have to chime in and say how thankful I am that this is available. Meedermow, you da man. Having these additional commentaries is really the highlight for me, but even the bonus documentary stuff has turned out to be a real treat. Thank you so much, and keep 'em coming!!!

DJ, I understand how you must feel... I do hope that you decide to complete and release your From Beyond disc, though. I promise I will review it in depth! :-)

AAAAHHHHRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! I feel like I've been banging my head against the wall. For the fourth time, I do NOT have a 400 ft 16mm scanner. I have a 2000 ft 16mm WorkPrinter. If I were to do a 16mm film transfer, it would NOT be necessary to cut up the film. (not that I have time right at the moment... too many other film projects going on).

But once you've got some free time, I imagine that 400 ft. 16mm scanner of yours will come in real handy!

*BANG!*thud*

Thanks for doing this, it's a good idea. Do you expect much degradation in image quality? I only ask because, to be honest, it looks pretty bad already. I was kind of surprised, given that it's a dual-layer disc.

That's not to say it isn't an excellent edit... it most definitely is. Thumbs up to ocpmovie for his hard work.
