The whole thing about boicotting is that it won't work. People WILL buy it no matter what. BUT I still have hope: maybe when people buy it and watch it, they'll get angry about it not being the ORIGINAL trilogy, and some people will demand their moneys back and protest, and maybe the issue might get some media attention, and we'll win.

It is obvious to me what has happened. At first, they were NOT clones. Altought there is not so much evidence of this on the films, this gets quite clear on the expanded universe. Then, when GL decided to go ahead and film the PT, he thought to himself "ok, I gotta make something up about the whole clone wars thing", and he decided it would be a good thing to make the stormtroopers clones. He watched the three movies, and noticed that there was no sign indicating the opposit, besides the different voices. He didn't bother to read any expanded universe material to verify this, even the ones he personally approved. He then gathered his team on Skywalker Ranch and anounced that the stormtroopers would be the clones on the Clone Wars, and everyone thought it was a good idea, because it was GL's idea.

crappy CGI episode 7 is better than TPM
nothing is better than episode 7

So ok, you rather have nothing, and if nothing isn't available, you rather have a a crappy CGI episode 7, and then TPM. Ok sounds about right, but I belive TPM is a litle bit worse than that.

What? He didn't have a CLUE about the other episodes until SW proved to be a hit! If he knew there would be all those episodes all along, why isn't there a title claiming star wars was episode 4? It has been confirmed in a number of ocasions that the whole "4th episode" thing only came up when ESB was on its way...

I did not know the technicalaties, only what I was told about. Back on the black and white days, we used a frequency system labeled M. During the change to a color system, there was a need to make sure that the color TVs would still get the b&w signal, thus creating the PAL-M system. I've heard more than once that a lot of effort was put into it so that it would be a good color system for the time. First testings started in mid-60s, and it was only officially used in 1972. I'll try to find out some technical information about it, and post it here.

He started on 4 because back them he did not know there would be 9 (later 6) episodes. There was no "episode 4 - a new hope" back on the original release. Now he probably wants us to watch the whole thing in its correct order, from 1 to 6, not the chronological one.

I remember seeing on TV these bizarre devices that would avoid your car being stolen: flmae throwers at both sides of the car, a huge blade under the car that would slice the thief's legs, smoke and eletric shocks... But there's really one thing that can stop carjackings all over the world: fighting unemployment and crime.

In Brazil we use an alternate and improved PAL system called PAL-M, which is fully compatible with PAL.

I know oojason, and I know it would be frustrating for him being only recognized for an acting job he disliked so much. I still don't know why he accepted staring on Star Wars. He really needed the money so bad?

But what I mean is, actors are paid a whole lot of money to act. I think it's unfair when they complain about the job, and you clearly see it's not such a bad job. Ewan McGregor is getting paid to act against bluescreen all the time and make it belivable. I do not like the way GL directs his movies now, 10 minutes of principal photography under a bluescreen and 2 years of post-production, BUT... they all knew what it was all about, and being actors, they gotta know how to act no matter how difficult the situation might be.

Reminds me of a story I heard about Hitchcock's Birds. I can't recall the name of the actress, but there's a scene where she hears noises coming from the second floor of her house, and she goes up, opens the door, and the birds atack her. When she was on set to do the scene, she asked Hitchcock: "Why? Why would she go up there? Why should I do this?", and he replied "Because I'm telling you to do it."

If the original (and I mean ORIGINAL) trilogy was released on DVD, would you still buy the SE's? You know it might sound blasfemy, but if both versions were released I would buy the SE's first, mostly because I've seen the original ones before, and I would be curious about the changes. I would later buy the original ones, maybe 1 or 2 months later.

Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was originally released in 1977 and has a running time of 125 minutes. Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back was released in 1980 and is 135 minutes. Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi was released in 1983 and has a running time of 130 minutes. All three films have been rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America and are rated PG in Canada.

I don't think that's misleading, but a warning would be fine.

About the whole thing of actors hating blue screens, and actors hating working on Star Wars, I think that's ridiculous. They're movie actors, they get a WHOLE lot of money! I don't CARE if they are bored, or if they think star wars sucks, or if they can't act against blue screen! That's the job they chose to do, to ACT no matter how insanely ridiculous the situation might be, that's what they're getting their money from, so stop complaining and just do the job properly. Peter O'Toole refuse to act in Tron when he found out he would have to act against bluescreens and greenscreens and whatever, that's a ridiculous primadonna behaviour I hate about those kind of actors. Sir Alec Guiness bad-mouthed Star Wars on every ocasion he mentioned it, just as Marlon Brando did with Superman... ok so WHY did they agree on acting on those movies?
