People complan that after all the CGI Sy Snooldes crap, that they never fixed the Rancor scene. Now they have.

If people hate the SE because it looks too-much like a carftoon, then why hate it MORE when they fix that?

The problem I have with the SE is that the original movies are forever lost. It's like having a paiting you love, and then someone paints a mustache over it, and you can't remove it anymore. I'm OK with him releasing the SEs, George Lucas can turn the whole thing into a bobsponge squarepants cartoon if he wants to, I don't care. I'm OK with watching the SEs, yes there are some neat things there, windows in cloud city, i liked the sarlaac pit, "you're lucky to get out of there" original line, but it can't REPLACE the original one.

I have them on VHS tapes, copies of the 1995 release, and I don't have a VCR anymore (it broke while I was watching ANH) and I'll not buy another VCR (buying VCRs is too 80s to me), and the DVD was my only chance to see them in a original presentation. I don't want to download it from some torrent, I don't have a DVD burner. I don't want to buy a bootleg, mostly because it's kinda hard to find the original unaltered trilogy here, and it would cost too much to buy it from the US or UK. I wanted an official DVD from 20th century fox and lucasfilm, with comentaries, with special features and all that stuff...

Another good example is THX-1138. I've always wanted to watch it, and it's unavailable here in Brazil. It will be available now, but it'll be that special edition. I'll never be able to watch the original movie, ever...

That's exactly the point, but I wouldn't go on blaming the script. The problem is with the director, he dosen't understand what the actors need in order to work.

OK I still think it's BS the fact that the actors complain about acting against bluescreens all the time, I mean, look at Bob Hopkins in Roger Rabbit, he had nothing there yet he gives a great performance - why? because he is a good actor and because bob zemeskins (forgot how to spell his name) was there.

What we need is to make sure GL never directs again, which I belive might happen.

I've just called home, as I'm working in another city, and Ive found out that someone has adultered their license plate and now I'm getting those traffic tickets on my name, and I might lose my license unless I can prove it wasn't me, but I think I can because the color description dosen't match and I wasn't driving the car during the times reported, but it's gonna take such a long time to clean up my name and to solve this problem, and... oh FUCK!!

Ok I feel much better now.

there is still the slim chance of GL turning around and giving us exactly what we want.

Or... he could go completly insane, and forbid the trilogy to be seen again, claiming it was HIS thing, and meant only for him to see. But I think that if such event happens the CIA has the legal right to murder him.

Lucas should have done this from the beginning then...
the look of the films are going to clash so badly...

Not al all, it's a quesiton of fashion. People in -30 pre-ANH didn't look like that, the buildings and the technology didn't have that 70s look. Think of it as fashion, I mean, people in the 40s didn't look like people in the 70s at all. Maybe the Emperor was a big fan of "Saturday Night Fever" and "That 70s show", maybe he has all the bee gees and abba albums. I think it does make sense, and it helps the whole thing to blend more naturally.

The emperor is not played by Ian on this 2004 special edition?

Uh nope. The CD was on one of those R$9.90 (~US$4.00) things at stores, where you can fnid a whole lot of crap, but if you dig well enough, you can find some CDs other people thing it's crap, but you think it's great. I have bought Pink Floyd's Final Cut and some other CDs from local bands like that. When I see those CDs with a R$9.90 price thrown around in a basket thing at a store I always dig up something I enjoy.

Yes, I've noticed Han understand what the wookies say, but the thing is, how come he can identify sentences from it?? I mean, how can you comunicate a complex sentence by just grunting like that? It's not like huttese, a language that actually sounds like it means something, with words and everything... OK maybe the wookies can comunicate by extreme complex combinations of fast sounds, but there's NO way a human could understand it!

I have just bought Fatboy Slim's "Youve come a long way, baby" CD for only US$4.00, it's great, Im listening to it while I "work" - there's nothing better to listen while executing SQL scripts than Fatboy Slim...

Any other fans of eletronica here? And such bands/artists such as Air, Fatboy Slim, KID606, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Wendy Carlos?

All we need now is Meco to write the score for this movie... Disco's back!
