Soccer pretty much dominates the spot here, followed by tennis, volleyball, marathons, and other olympic sports. NBA has a little bit of coverage here, back in the mid 90s you could spot a game on a non-cable station sometimes, today you might see the highlights of a game the day after. Football is broadcasted by ESPN and FOX over here, but has little to no attention of the media. I've seen newspapers and sports show talk a little bit about the superbowl the day after, but only for the past 5 years or so. There are some amateur football leagues in Brazil, they play on the beach, 90% of them are in Rio. I've played beach football once, as a quarterback. In one play I kept the ball for too long, was tackled into the ground and hurted my knee, so that was the end of it. Baseball is hardly broadcast, ESPN has shown a few games for the past 2 or 3 years, but it gets absulutely no coverage from the media. I'm still not sure of what the baseball rules are.

But doesn't the thread reload itself (thereby constituting a new view) each time you post a reply? Or is a "view" just each time you click into a thread meaning you could click in once and stay there indefinitely?

It checks for the URL of origin, and only add one to the counter if it was different from itself. If it wasn't for that, the view counter would increase every time someone changed page.

Phase 1:

For days 1 to n-1 of an n day cycle:
1. If the light is off and you have one token then remove it and leave the light off.
2. If the light is off and you have zero tokens then turn the light on and add to your count DayNumber - n. Turn the light on. If this was the first cycle then you are now the counter.
3. If the light is off and you are the counter then turn it on. Add Daynumber - n to your count.

this, to me makes no sense. Lets say that the 1st cycle is 20 days. Lets also say on day 10 someone goes into the room for the 2nd time and the light is off. According to your directions, that person is supposed to add to their count(which I guess starts out at zero, you don't indicate where the count starts at), the daynumber(which is 10)-n(which is 20).
0+(10-20)= -10????????????

Starts out at one.

Yeah I think you got a point, isn't it N - daynumber?

That compares 1.33:1 to 1.85:1, it would look a bit different for 2.53:1. Either way the widescreen version is the intended way.

Not really. Kubrick always intended for the widescreen version to be shown at movie theaters, and for the 1.33 version to be shown on TVs. You will not find a widescreen version of Eyes Wide Shut on DVD.

Now this is the thread we can go on and talk about anything, without getting off the topic. There is no topic!

OK, let me start by telling you guys something weird that happened to me last night. I usually don't have dreams while sleeping, and when I do I don't often share with people I don't know, but I think it's ok on this one. I had this dream I was watching episode 3, and for some weird reason Darth Vader and the ROTJ Emperor were in an office, with computers and chairs and everything. And the emperor said "Obi-Wan never told you about your father", than Vader replied with something I can't remember what it was, with his anakin voice not james e jones, then the emperor said "No. I am you father, young skywalker! I've met your mother when she was a slave." - and then I walked out of the movie at that moment thinking "Well GL REALLY needed to have a surprise twist at this movie, didn't he?", and I don't remember anything else beyond that point.

Now, there are now two possibilities:

a: I'm now clinically insane, for dreaming about an unreleased sci-fi movie spoken in a foreign language (to me).
b: I am able to predict the future, and episode 3 will show us that the Emperor and Vader really did rule the galaxy as father and son.

(EDIT) The "ASCII art" I did didn't look as good after posting it, but it was like a "cross", imagine a square screen but missing 4 little squares at the corners.

Not entirely correct but you can get the idea. For the theatrical version, the widescream frame was chosen, cutting off the top and bottom, but just a little. For the TV, they get the 1:1.33 section, the middle one, and cut off the sides, but just a little bit.

He's referring to the Guiness Book Of Records, Not Alec Guiness. Anyway, Sir Alec only died in the late nineties or perhaps even 2000. He hasn't been gone that long.

He passed away august 5th, 2000.
