Anime Question
Time
We don't have Shonen Jump here, we do have manga compilations. You see, a manga series is released first in a manga series magazine like Shonen Jump, and then it's released in an "album" version, with about 8 chapters in each book. We have those here.

The japanese Shonen Jump is where the new manga series get published, it's very ahrd to get your own manga series published on Shonen Jump. The most popular ones are turned into anime, some are not.

The american Shonen Jump, from what you've said, is merely a collection of popular manga, not exactly the "translated" version of the original Shonen Jump.

"So, this is Luke Skywalker... I'm not sure if I should leave him with you... I'm not sure of what to do..."
"I have a plan..." (Lars gets up) "Mein jedi.... I can WALK!"

End, at the end of episode 3, the Death Star will blow up planets with "We'll meet again" on the background.

Ric's Star Wars week

Local Burger King. I didn't want to eat the "happy meal" thingy, so I asked "pleeeease pleease give me a toy", and she thought I was some sort of a lunatic who escaped from the mental house, so in order to avoid confronting me she just gave me the Vader one and asked me not to tell anyone. Well... I think I'm broking my promise now, eh?

No, let me correct you, the JAPANESE Shonen Jump publishes manga series and THESE get an anime version if popular. 65% of anime are derived from manga titles, 20% are original anime works, and 15% are original works that later turn into manga (usually the result of the last one is horrible). What I asked is if there was a north-american version of Shonen Jump.

I agree. I think medical research is a necessary evil. Cosmetics research is a different story.

I once had a Behavioral Psych professor talk about how there was no conclusive evidence that smoking causes cancer. And how he knew of an experiment where they put these masks on dogs (beagles) that basically forced them to smoke cigarettes to try to prove it one way or the other. That's AWFUL.

That's horrible. I don't agree on animal research if:

a) It's something frivolous or useless, like cosmetics or perfume.
b) It puts animal to horrible tortures, like burning them alive or something.
c) It has warfare purpouses, like testing weapons.
d) It's done on dangered species like dolphins or monkeys.

Now, how does one FORCE a dog to smoke? Surreal...

Good question. I read an article about 1-2 years ago about a guy who's like a cybernetic genius. He put some implants in his arm that activated certain appliances and lights in his house when he walked in the room. Awesome, but very frightening stuff.

That's very creepy.

ROTS: poll, who's already got their tickets?
Time
By the way, I went to this sleeze flea market yesterday, and some bootleg seller had Episode 3 already. It was fullscreen and very high-quality, so I think it must have been ripped from a promotional copy. When I saw what that was I closed my eyes and runned away, screaming "NO! NO! SPOILERS! BAD SPOILERS!"

Damn those bootlegers, don't they lnow that crime never pays?

That's just pathetic. I don't agree with animal rights extremists, I'm not a vegetarian and I think we can use animals in medical tests - but with some regulation and control over that, like never using endagered species, only killing the animal if it's absolutely necessary... About fur, I don't like it and I think it's absolutely ridiculous a person must use a fox fur all over her in order to look good. Animal rights extremists (and I mean EXTREMISTS, not people who defend the animal rights) are part of the pathetic, ridiculously insane part of the liberals, a small, sad part we should ignore.

Besides, shouldn't they care about STARVATION before caring about animals? If I had to kill all the pandas in the world in order to give hu ngry children food, I wouldn't think twice.
