i thought it added more depth to the story. maybe it made the characters a little more fleshed out but the story was deeper.

And of course, added the "chosen one" cliche to the whole thing, also providing room for a huge Deus Ex Machina whenever GL felt lost in his story.

Kevin Smith interview in Rolling Stone on fans - Couldn't have said it better myself...
Time
Well, Kevin Smith is 50% right and 50% wrong. Yes, these are just movies, and we shouldn't be taking so much time and energy bashing them. BUT... that dosen't mean that we must love every little piece of crap GL delivers us. What is he saying, that everyone who slightly disliked the prequels is a loser? Well perhaps he should stick on making more Ben Affleck-related movies that are, basically, Clerks re-written in a shopping mall or in a movie studio or wherever, while he dreams of, one day, being like Richard Linklater.

Can the Ewoks be cut out?
Time
Allow me to be a little bit off topic: Isn't it ironic that we, as fans, allow ourselves to consider things such as removing the Ewoks from the films, and yet we protest at GL adding Jabba and Greedo shooting first? Of course, we would preserve the films as they were originally, with Ewok slapstick and trees smashing AT-STs, but if we go on with it, we cannot complain at anything GL does to SW...

Mac + Intel = iFlicks?
Time
Hmn...

I think changing Mac's archicteture to the x86 is one huge step that should be taken slowly, or not at all. So, basically, old Mac applications will be emulated? Will x86 coded programs run on the new Mac? Perhaps there's more than the eyes see, I don't think a full process architecture change might happen just because Apple wants to "copy-protect" their IFlicks with this new hardware, which, by the way, WILL be cracked in a matter of weeks. Perhaps Steve Jobs wants a better compatibility with IBM/PC?

Does Tarkin know that the Emperor is a Sithlord?

You haven't proved that Vader doesn't see Tarkin as any more than a subordintate. So, acording to your logic, if in between Ep III and the end of ANH, (hypothetically) the Emperor were to die of a heart attack, you're thinking is that Tarkin would become Emperor and Vader would still sit there all the while thinking: yes I could force choke this dude, and yes I an the 'chosen one, but I better not since Palps liked him? Correct?

Hmn, that's an interesting question. If the Emperor died, who would take over? I don't think Tarkin would, he didn't have the right "profile" for it, he's more of a manager and commander than a ruler or an emperor... I think Vader would be the Emperor...
