One question to ask George?

Okay, I guess that was two questions, and I guess I'd ask it more nicely if I was actually in front of him. ^_^

He would probably answer this question like our football team's coach does whenever he is asked about his dumb decisions: "Hmn... 'Cause I wanted to."

Cartoons!
Time
Well, it's only anime, and anime is usually very liberal towards these things. Besides, even if it had a strong erotic inuendo (and it hasn't, it's all very subtly implied and comical), so what? I don't see anything wrong with that. I mean, why is it ok to have cartoons in which characters grab guns and shoot and kill each other, and we can't have a cartoon with characters kissing and cuddling and being intimate? Isn't it better to make love and not war? I'm being simplistic, yes, and there are some things kids underage shouldn't see, but furi kuri isn't like that, it's not graphical, it has no foul language or anything... And remember, anime comes from Japan, a whooole different culture.

hey! I buy gifts and cards for my parents on Mother's day and Father's day to show them that I love them and to thank them for all that they have done for me. That companies get my money doesn't matter to me. Making my parents and grandparent happy is want is important.

Warbler, so do I. I do give my mom and dad gifts, but they don't think the way I do. It's ok by me, I don't mind buying them things, I actually like it. BUT... having the point of view I do, I refuse to accept anything at all. I have repeatedly told family and friends that I don't want them to give me things for birthday, I don't belive buying stuff is a way to show people we care. To me, a simple gesture like wishing me a happy birthday with a hug is waaay better than any $300 gift. I'm more of an emotional person than a material one, regarding other people.

It's PAL-M, which is compatible with PAL and NTSC but dosen't show the colors correctly. If I plug a PAL-M tv on a NTSC device, you will be able to see the images, but the colors will be in a green/purple tone, or in b&w.

Nowadays, most TVs, VCRs and DVD players have automatic coversors between NTSC and PAL-M, so this isn't an issue anymore. You can send it in PAL or NTSC and I'll be able to watch it. Now that I think about it, better make it NTSC. There are other PAL formats, and I'm not sure PAL-M is compatible with all of them.

Whatever game you want, we could use download play anyway...

But Goldeneye DS must have a great multiplayer mode...

Like I said, I knew Palpatine would become the Emperor, but it just seemed like anybody could wear a black shawl. I was hoping it would be a little more creative than that.

If Sidious was not Palpatine, I would be VERY surprised. Or disapointed, I'm not sure yet. Either way, fans would bash GL because of this.

Help: looking for... I want an O-OT preservation project

I’ve been reading this part of the forum for a while, and analyzing the preservation topics and the fan made editions, and I realized I want to own a DVD edition of the O-OT. I think the Dr. Gonzo edition is probably the best one. Now, I don’t have a DVD-ROM burner and I don’t intend to buy one in the future, so how could I purchase one of those? I’m sure it’s not illegal, since the O-OT is EXTREMELY unavailable here (there was no laserdisc release over here, and the VHS faces edition is long gone).

Who should I talk to in order to get these DVDs? I’m in Brazil, is there any shipping problems/issues?

Wow, skyman8081, that looks really good. I don't usually like this real-time strategy games - except for Age of Empires II, which I was heavily addicted years ago - but I might take a look on this one, looks kinda cool.

And now for something completly different: tomorrow Bomberman DS will be released! I became a Bomberman fan way back in the SNES era, with it's fun multiplayer feature. Then, I got the chance to play the N64 version, which had the most fun multiplayer mode EVER for a console (maybe as fun as Goldeneye64). I hope this DS version maintains the fun aspects of the game, with a good single player mode and a extremly fun multiplayer mode...

Chaltab, I can hardly wait for the nintendo wi-fi network to become operacional so I can challenge you! You better get some practice 'cause I'm gonna kick your ass!

Batman Begins

What annoying continuity? Apart from the whole Robin thing and Jack Napier killing the Waynes? Besides, "Begins" is nto really faithful to the comics as well...

**** SPOILERS AHEAD ***
The movie ended with an open possibility for a sequel, staring... the Joker. Hmn, I don't think anyone can play the Joker as good as Jack Nicholson did in "Batman", so I hope this was just a reference.

I think that if we must preserve the original one, we must preserve it with all of its flaws, like matte lines and transparent objects. We shouldn't be preserving those just because we don't want Greedo to shoot first, but because THAT was the real Star Wars, the original one, the one film that deserves all our praises, even though it is flawed.

Of course, for a special edition, all those technical glitches must be removed...

Happy Father's Day
Time
It's not father's day over here for some cultural/commercial reasons. This was a day created by greeting cards companies in the 40s so they could sell more cards in a time of the year where they usually didn't. It's a commercial "holiday", and if God ever makes the mistake to let me be a father, I'd ask my kid(s) not to buy me anything at all.
