Lucas prequel decisions in hindsight
Time
Now I might be going away from the main topic for a while - and at the same time speaking about the topic - but do you guys remember the reviews for TPM and AOTC when they came out? Now, correct me if I'm wrong or if you guys experienced anything different, but for a week or two it had a major fan apreciation, specially AOTC. During the first week it had a +-8.7 rank on IMBD, along with reviews praising that SW was back and stuff like that... And now, it's the biggest crap of all. Now, I think TPM is worse than AOTC, and AS MOVIES, ignoraing the whole SW thing, they are actually good movies, and somewhat entertaining.

Now my question is, what has made the SW comunity change their minds in over a week? Peer pressure into saying the prequels were bad, specially AOTC where this was more acentuated and noticeable? Don't you think we are being intimidated into saying that the prequels suck?

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't like them. I don't enjoy the prequels and I almost don't consider them to be SW canon. OT and PT are two distinct things, and while the PT is actually entertaining and watchable as movies (although irritating and dull at some points), they are not as good as the OT and not as... how can i say... star-warish...

I'm sure he'll be fine. Gladly nothing worse happened, like injuring an eye or an ear... I know of some gruesome fireworks and fire related stories and let me tell you, he is lucky.

About what Gaffer Tape said: yes we're probably either creating a ego-filled monster, who is laughing at us and just waiting for the right moment to flood this forum with enough trolling that Jay will be forced keep it closed for good --- or he's at his bed, with his face at the pillow, crying and saying "Why!? Why do they hate me!?", and turning to his teddy bear and saying "You don't hate me, right, mr bobo? You're my beeeest friend in the whoooole world...", and his parents listening in through the door and calling the psychiatrist again.

Ewan McGregor being blamed for failure of "The Island" by producers (along with the Johanasson girl)

No he meant the short-lived 1966 version of the show, called Mystery Science Theater 2000, in which the 3000 show was based on. It featured two wood puppets riffing old silent movies shown with rear projection.

Anyway, I'll look for this MST3k version of Clonus Horror, should be fun to watch.

Aparently you have't heard of a Peter Sellers movie called "The Party". It's one of the best comedies ever made, and they had absolutely NO script while shooting the film.

doesnt he still have one movie left in his contract? I think i heard that somewhere.

Nope, he initially signed a three picture contract (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough), with an option for a fourth film (Die Another Day).

The new Bond for Casino Royale still hasn't been announced though every week there is a new rumour!

He actually had the option to do another one and the studio wanted him, but he declined.

Wrong forum, Han. Besides Ewan, this has nothing to do with Star Wars.,

*sigh* Yes, that's why this is the OFF-TOPIC section.

It was originally in General Star Wars, Ric. Give me some benefit of the doubt.

Sorry, I didn't know.

OK, how big of a bomb is The Island? Are we talking "Man on the Moon" bomb, or "Pluto Nash" bomb?

The Things We Hate And Love Thread .
Time
Be careful, this is the sandwich that turned Elvis into being fat...

Now, back to things I hate: I've expressed my hate for public bathrooms before, but now I wanna go ahead and share with you guys the worse public bathroom I've ever been (excluding road gas stations ones), the ones where I work in. Now, the toilet seats are dispersed side by side, in little close cabins like one would expect. But the problem is, the walls dividing each seat don't go all the way to the floor, they stop about one or two feet before the floor, leaving this open area below. On the floor there's this marble-like stone, very shiny, and because of that it reflects everything, including the people sitting on the toilets. The empty space on each of the walls are in such a way that is possible to see, reflected in the floor, the person on your left and own your right, which is very upsetting, since you don't really wanna know what they are doing. Also, it gets quite disturbing because one is reminded that they can see you too. Anyone walking in front of the toilet seat cabins can also see the people in there reflected... I could go on and on and say some other things about that public bathroom, but I rather not...

Could not say it better myself.

That was perfect.

They have a kick-off, and no one grabs the ball.... and it cuts to commercial! And four minutes later it gets back, and it's first and ten... And they throw the ball and no one catches it... and it cuts to commercials! *sigh* two minutes later it's second and ten, and they succeed and run all the way to the field, but no, wait, yellow flags thrown into the field, and the referee speaks to everyone saying facemask and whatever, and the coach challenges it, and the referee goes to watch TV and... cut to commercial...

Football is a TV-friendly sport, commercially speaking. Sports in the US are way too commercial driven. That's why the real football (aka soccer) dosen't suceed in the US. Not to say that our football isn't too commercial either...

You know what I'm going to do? I'll tape the Superbowl and cut down all the interruptions, whenever the play stops I cut directly to the next play beggining. It'll be about 30, 40 minutes of a VERY cool game.

Let me remind you that one good, useful post is better than 1000 trolling ones. Be reminded of what Yoda said: "Judge me by my size?", meaning that a lot of posts mean nothing. There are some fine posters and contributors here who deserve to be in the Top Ten as much as we do, not because of how many posts the did, but on what they've written.

JWe did have an IRC channel for some time, I'm not sure where - I was there once or twice. I would help and create one, but I currently cannot access IRC except for a few moments during weekends. However this might change soon, and if I get proper internet connection at home, I'll create another channel for it. I think it'd cool to be able to talk with some of you guys in real time.

Meanwhile, whoever created that non-official IRC channel, are you still there? Do you remember where it was and what it was called?

"Right, stop that, stop that now. It's silly. Now, no one enjoys a good counting thread more than me.. except for my wife... and Captain Jonhson... come to think of it, most people like a good counting thread more than I do, but that's beside the point! Now, I must ask you to stop this thread at once, as it has gone to be far too silly. Right... Go away. C'mon. As, you, reading this post, go away... Go on..."
