good luck finding a pub/bar playing the world cup, btw. it's pretty scarce, unless you are in NYC.
Sadly I am in Jamestown ND. I'll be watching the games at home (actually, my in-laws' home. I would never consider this place to be my home).

Wayne Rooney looks like he comes from North Dakota.

pretty off-topic, but have you seen mt. rushmore yet?

i really think the USA has a great chance this year. they made it to the quarter-finals in '02. they WILL make it all the way this time around. it's high-time for an upset.

EDIT: to answer your question, ric, Soccer United Marketing (SUM), the marketing arm of Major League Soccer (MLS), will present all 64 matches LIVE in English, with no commercial interruptions during play.

ABC will air 12 games, ESPN will air 21 games, and ESPN2 will air 31 games, in both standard definition and high definition (Some cable and satellite TV operators charge extra for ABC HD, ESPN HD, and ESPN2 HD).

Univision Communications will broadcast 56 games live on Univision and 8 games live on TeleFutura, all in Spanish, with no commercial interruptions during play, in standard definition ONLY.

I'll be watching Univision.

the fight wasn't on ppv, just showtime, so people weren't out of funds, unless they actually went to the fight in vegas.

the way the weigh-in works is they are responsible for making it to the weight the day prior, in this case 135. there are no other weigh-ins that matter except that one. however, HBO does an unofficial weigh-in just before the fight just for shits and giggles.

Corrales v Castillo III is NOT happening. Castillo did not make weight AGAIN! the first time in HISTORY was for C v C II. Corrales decided to do the fight anyway, to not disappoint the fans. well, Castillo won that one, and you had better believe it was because he was 4 pounds over the required weight. The weigh-in happened yesterday and Castillo was 4.5 pounds over the limit. what a fucking disgrace. All other fighters make weight. why couldn't Castillo? why couldn't Castillo just freakin' CALL Corrales and tell him he was a few pounds over. they could have agreed to meet at the same weight and all would be ok. I don't blame Corrales for cancelling.

What a disgrace. Castillo is a disgrace to the sport. He got fined last time for being over. This time he should be suspended for 2 years.

I know many of you aren't boxing fans, but those who are, chime in. I really want to know what you are thinking.

Who Would Win?
Time
people.. williams isn't that great. he blatently rips melodies and styles from other composers far better than him. only reason why he is so well known is because he's in the movie biz. 'nuff said. elfman has more originality than williams does any day.

so here's what would happen. elfman and williams would be slapping each other like pansies. then, from beyond the grave jerry goldsmith comes and eats their respective internal organs. technically a draw, but goldsmith is the obvious winner.
