Anyone else dying to go to a restaurant, or a movie theater?
I am so sick of take out and TV dinners.
What they said.
thanks
I was feeling like Luke after R2 ran away, and he had removed the restraining bolt.
Well I just screwed up in a big way. And I was trying to be nice.
Here is the deal. I live with my parents. It is cheaper for both them and me.
Any way I have been bored, so I start doing things around the house.
It was a nice day so I decided to wash the cars.
The insides are vary dirty so I get out the shopvac
I vac my car my Fathers car and start on my Mothers car.
I move the automatic driver seat all the way forward so I can vac under it.
Then I try to move it back and it will not move. You can’t even get in to drive now.
I look up how to fix on line. I try what the video guy says but I can’t pull it off.
I have apologized to my mother and gave her my car keys to use until her car can be fixed.
But now I am just stuck feeling like crap.
I don’t know that I agree that ‘toxic’ needs to stop being used as a descriptor, if only because it CAN apply very well… the problem is that a huge part of WHY it applies is because people DO approach disposable conversations with strangers about space movies with such misplaced energy and importance that it ends up warping perspective, to the point where real toxicity can occur. But usually it’s a pretty long walk between “jeez, that guy is annoying” to “jeez, that guy is TOXIC.”
But even then, that doesn’t mean anyone here can paint a really accurate picture of anyone else’s personality based solely on the very small, focused, and mostly inconsequential (and anonymous) glimpses being given through “Star Wars” talks. Most everyone here has a whole LIFE outside of liking Star Wars that is bigger, and way more important than this, and we’ll never really know about it beyond the surface. Toxicity can be a temporary condition, too, and if you find yourself getting upset at other people’s opinions on Star Wars, in my experience, that just means its time to stop and reflect on what you’re putting into this, and what you’re getting out of it, and whether there’s an imbalance that needs to be tended to on YOUR end.
That word is almost always used when someone has a negative opinion about something someone else likes. DE calls ROTJ bad, he must be TOXIC. It’s meaningless at this point. Anyone who calls someone else toxic immediately looks like someone I don’t want to talk to anymore, even if that isn’t really the case.
OK, I apologize for using that word and rushing to judgment.
Maybe we should say. “Bantha Poodoo”?
DE calls ROTJ bad, hes “Bantha Poodoo”.
I am joking, mostly.
On From Star Wars to Jedi you can hear the original English vocals.
It’s a workout song, for sure. I’ve always wondered why. AFAICT, the song was written for the movie, so… ?
Actually, after thinking about it today, weird exercise songs were kinda popular around this time…
Still makes no sense for the setting, but.
Like I said Jabba has gotan so fat he can’t get off his “Hoversled”
So he is trying to lose weight. But he keeps eating frogs so it never works.
Also i saw this documentary
the man looks like Jabba.

Not Sure if anyone here has brought this up.
Has anybody tried to preserve this movie.
It is only on VHS, Laser-disc and, Youtube.
Interesting article. Kind of ironic that Lucas didn’t think Darth Vader was a good villain, and now Vader is one of the most iconic villains in film history. Hindsight is 20/20.
Weird, considering he had the entire Original VisionⓇ planned out in the early 1970s and how it was all about the grand saga of the rise & fall of Vader.
Oh wait. He’s a liar. Easily proven many times over.
No!
Everything he said is true, from a certain point of view.
Why do you think the studios love digital so much? They could remove your access to the movie entirely without consequences if they wanted. Without a physical disc or non-DRM’d downlaod, you have no rights.
best argument for physical media ever.
new sets.
Not counting used sets or sequels
but i have those too.
^ I’m not up to up speed on COPPA - what are they planning to do in 2020 that they have not done so far mate?
What YOUTUBE’s Not Telling You About COPPA
I have a bad feeling about this.
I feel like every thing that I like in this world is dying out.
It looks like COPPA is going to kill YouTube in 2020.
Thankfully I never made any videos of my own. But most of what I watch may go away. But I am scared for the internet as a hole.
Its getting harder and harder to find people online that have the same interests as me. Its almost as bad as real life.
You ether do what you like alone.
Or do stuff you hate with others.
In the words of marvin the robot from hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy.
“Oh God, I’m so depressed”
You know how when your driving a car and all the traffic stops, and you learn there has been an accident and you can’t move until they pull the wrecked cars off the road.
That’s how my life feels right now.
I can’t move forward, I can’t move backward.
can’t play the radio or run the AC because I might run out of gas and batteries.
Learning to Read was Hell for me.
I think it may have been due to me having dyslexia, as well as another learning disability, and also Bad Teachers.
My first grade reading teacher was a witch!
And no I’m not censoring myself, every year I was at that particular School she dressed as a witch for the School Halloween party.
never had the nerve but I always wanted to ask her where her costume was.
over the years I tried to practice and I got a little bit better.
when I finally got into college I took a class to improve my reading skills.
The teacher was a complete a******.
I didn’t sensor that my speech recognition did.
I can read okay now but I don’t enjoy it. Right now I’m using text-to-speech software to read comments and proofread my own posts.
Anybody get really ticked off with bad YouTube tutorials?
I either get somebody with a foreign accent that mumbles more than Jar Jar Binks after he gets his tongue Zapped by the podracer.
Or I end up with a video that keeps buffering and the person in the video is taking forever to get to the point. Reminds me of Harvey Korman in the holiday special telling Lumpy how to put his transmitter together.
Or Worse some idiot writing in Notepad. If I wanted to read I wouldn’t go on YouTube.
That one is so dumb I can’t think of a Star Wars comparison.
This is just a little mock-up I thought of.
It’s clearly inspired by the FBI warning screen.
Before you ask about the doughnut I will say this
When I was a kid, i believe about 3. I thought the
round FBI logo looked like a doughnut. So I just put it in.

Okay here’s the updated version

My thought was the people that made fan projects could
tack a logo like this on the front and back of their projects.
This way if somebody downloaded a fan project with the intention of selling it.
They could not simply just burn discs and sell them without the disk containing this logo.
They would have to bring the files into a video editor cut out the logo from both sides.
and then convert back to a burnable image. Not something that a really dedicated pirate
could not do but a mild deterrent for uninformed people. Please note though this is just
a mock-up I do not own the rights to the donut image. I just quick searched donuts on
Google images and picked one.

This is just a question for anyone who might know.
could someone tell me a good movie discussion website?
I used to use the IMDb but they got rid of their discussion bored.
my interest is being able to ask people about different Blu-ray and DVD releases.
sometimes I want to ask if a new version of a movie solve some problems that an earlier one had.
Things like is the DVD anamorphic? Does it have the special/extended edition, the theatrical Edition or both?
Did they finally fix that other little problem it’s annoying blah blah blah …
Does anyone else think this kind of sounds like the 20th Century Fox song
I tend to call it A New Hope. Or Ep4 or ANH I never saw it in 77. sorry was not born yet.
I know, lame excuse but it was my parents fault. 😉
I tried just calling it Star Wars at one time but I had some one say. “witch one?”
I say the first one. And they say do you mean Ep1 or E4?
So I save time on witch one. That way if I have to explain why E4 is the first and EPs 1 2 3 were made after Eps 4 5 6 I won’t be so out of breath.
Just asking how much in US $ is a good blank 50 GB Blu ray. I tried looking it up but the pricing is all over the place.
The best solution would be to pay a fee for the original film release to stream off a website which pays royalties to the actual companies that are entitled to payment for the intellectual property but which also unlocks fan versions or preservations and alternatives of said title purchased that can be viewed as optional in addition to the title you bought the right to watch and stream.
This would create communities around films. And users could share artwork and opinions / reviews so on and so fourth about the film.
difficult but that I think would be ideal.
No matter weather you own a physical copy you would if you like have to subscribe to the film via this streaming site to view edits scans or whatever of a film made by other fans.
There are a number of reasons this is all very positive with no downsides that I can think of because film companies get paid… People learn software tools for free, People can get job offers to work on restoring films or companies can look and scout for talent based on output. I think it’s a good niche circle and would be all round positive. And also build strong fan bases and communities around films that have large, small and cult followings. And also attract people even if they were not wanting to do any work on any titles but simply they follow both the original work and what fans also do with it.
Creation space surrounding films of all kinds with options and extras surrounding an IP and fun most of all.
It will also be a great source of Information for reboots, sequels, remakes and hopefully more original IP’s.
this would likely screw people like me that have bad internet!
Yet more reason that my page 1 suggestion should be implemented:
While we need to do a better job at directing new members towards important information (see here for my suggestion), there will still be the problem of people unwilling/unable to burn the blu-rays and create custom sets. For those people, buying these things may be the only way they get their hands on them. And that’s a big problem.
Any solution not involving money would be quite a hassle, and the best thing I can think of is a system wherein the party requesting the blu-ray would be required to purchase their own blank blu-ray discs and send them in a package containing their copy of the relevant 2011 Blu-ray discs (as proof of purchase) and enough postage for sending it all back.
if the issue is downloading and not burning, could party requesting buy a portable hard drive or flash drives?
and send that with there 2011 Blu-rays? and only send the 2011 discs in sleeves or skinny Jewel cases. to cut down shipping cost?
