It seems like you have pretty different idea on how to cut it. They seem like pretty cool ideas, I would be interested to see what you came up with.

I've tried to cut up the Bernie Mac scene, but so far, all I've been able to cut is the clown guy complaining about his makeup. I can't seem to cut it without the background making obvious sound changes. I'll probably try a little harder when I do my next cut, this one is just meant to take out the most obvious silly crap, while retaining the natural flow in the soundtrack.

I've been able to cut a lot of the hacker stuff, and make them look less like bumbling idiots. I would cut them entirely, but it would make for some weird plot holes, in the sense that there are some scenes with them that I wouldn't want to cut, at least in this first edit.

Again, I'm not really cutting out massive chunks of the film, just lots of little ones. It should have the same basic overall feel, just less cheesy. This is my first (and a half) edit, and I'm not quite ready to mess with having to rebuild the 5.1 mix, which I would have to do with some of the more drastic edits I want to do. I'm going to see if I can do it in Cakewalk-Sonar (for the Hard Cut), since I'm a lot more familiar with that program. Otherwise, I'm going to look into using Vegas.

I should be done with this first cut in a week, and then I'm going to watch it all the way through on my home theatre, to see if it works well.

I'm about 33% of the way through my do-over cut, and I gotta say, I'm very glad that the first one screwed up. I've found much better ways to cut this without screwing up the audio. I've made a few extra cuts that really increase the overall tension and move the story along that much faster. Some of the more complicated cuts are turning into quite the pain to reproduce, but I'm really thinking it's going to turn out well. I gotta thank Steve Jablonsky for making a score that is very rythmic and repetitive in parts, it makes some of the cuts quite easy, especially when the music changes on cue with the scene changes.

This is really an addictive hobby. It's definitely not helping me with my insomnia. I gotta say once again, big ups to ADigitalMan for the guide on how to do this stuff.

new clip
new Tantive blast 2
Star Wars Revisited CompleteSW Revisited 8min preview
Star Wars Revisited final trailer

I'm 99.9% certain that these are all from Star Wars Revisited, but I could be wrong, as they were scattered all over my downloads HD. Please let me know if any are not from Adywan.

Watching these again, I am fully ready to watch this on my HD projector. Thanks for all your hard work Adywan. I've been working on my own edit for the past couple of months, and I can (almost) fully appreciate the amount of work and time involved in this.

I'm pretty happy with the movie too. I just think it needs a little cleaning up. There are some scenes in particular where I'm cutting out maybe a dozen frames, because the action actually hesitates too long, which is weird because usually Bay moves things right along (aside from the slow-mo shots). I'm definitely (not on the first cut at least) cutting the crap out of the movie. I had maybe 60-70 cuts when I got done the first time, but they were all minor. Just getting rid of some of the more obvious cheesy humor.

As far as the G1 cut goes, I am definitely going to add more starscream in there. He gets a good amount of screen time, so it wouldn't be hard to just insert his voice in there. Luckily, the original cartoon doesn't always have the soundtrack going, so I should be able to find some good, fitting dialogue. The hard part is going to be going through 4 seasons of material, to find all the voices and lines that I want. I'm planning on making it very obvious that Starscream was responsible for at least some of the missiles hitting megatron at the end. Not sure if I want to make it like the G1 cartoon or the G1 movie, but I like your idea of using the brushed metal logos for the scene transition. I would definitely have to find someone with skills to make that part. If you were going to make a cut like that, I would definitely be in to helping you with ideas and material.

I'm 8 cuts into my do-over of the first cut, and I realize now that I learned a lot from that first cut. I'm kind of glad that it screwed up now. It just better not happen again!!!

OK, I finished the first cut, and was quite happy with the way it came out. Unfortunately, Womble has decided it doesn't like my cut, and has ruined the audio in the second half of the movie, and has made some jumpy cuts. I've tried to fix it, but it looks to be lost. I learned some little things on the first cut, and I noticed some missed extra frames, so I think I'll just keep this as a reference, and start over.

I'm planning on doing a trilogy of cuts at this point:
The first cut will be the soft cut. I will basically remove as much of what I deem offensive as is possible, without getting into reconstructing the entire soundtrack, and without creating any holes in the plot

The second cut will be the hard cut. It'll be a while for this one, as I'm going to do some extensive rebuilding of the soundtrack, to try and eliminate the nu-rock songs, and to remove even more of the filler human scenes.

The third cut will be the G1 cut. This one will take me forever. I want to just do it for fun, but it probably won't be much fun. Going to cut in the original voices, a few of the old songs, mainly from the TV show, not so much the movie and just rework it as a more first generation Transformers movie.

I hope to have the first cut done in the next few weeks. At that point I'd like to send a couple copies out for people to critique.

OK. So I've got my first cut done. Problem is, there is a serious audio problem. One of the scenes makes an awful CD-skipping noise when I play it now, no part of the original sound is remotely audible. It's only on this one part, but if I play that part, and then the scene before it, that scene will then have the noise as well. But, if I play the scene after it, no problem.

I tried just exporting it, because I had heard the sound before, but just restarted Womble to make it go away, but it exports the noise too.

I then tried re-ripping the audio track, cutting out the section I needed, and sticking it back into the audio. This did nothing, and the bad sound was there again.

I was quite happy with this cut, and would hate to have start all over again, any suggestions? I thought I might rip it in DVDFabDecrypter, then burn it as a DVD9, then rip it again with DVD Decrypter in IFO/demux mode, hoping that DVDFab might remove some sort of protection that might be causing this. If this sounds nuts, please let me know!

Thanks!
