if only we could see these mock ups in motion
if only we could see these mock ups in motion
hey, so what are LFL's feelings on revisited ming? Are they considering taking some of ady's ideas to heart?
i like it. i'm anxious to see it when u have it ready. i can't wait to see how you do the next movie. you're doing a renascent of empire and jedi aren't you?

Making the floor glossy like we see in the establishing mattes/shots.
-Angel
that floor is a little dirty. needs some polishing.
aside from that, awsome mock ups vaderios. i like the idea of seeing the death star cannon, but like you said, it's at a weird angle. unless the area they're in is extremely small compared to the cannon.

My stab at a less obviously green Endor :
no offense vaderios, but that's the best endor i've seen yet. if we could keep that for the film, that would be cool.

Ok back the light stuff, to keep the olders more happy here's a set of revealing the detail instead of crushing it..
-Angel
i think they're all too bright, they should stay just as they are. only thing i would keep is the grey death star, other then that, no.
goodpoint. a lot of planets look strikingly similiar in SW. except for the unique planets such as hoth and them.
can't wait to see it!

A third test of endor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA6Y-mnlHqA
this idea came from darth venal early matte painting of the emperor's arrival so i tried replicating to the best of my abilities
it says to me the video has been removed. oh, well. vaderios, keep it goin' on those mock ups. you got a lot of freakin' skill. could prolly go into the movie business and do concept art for the director. ;)
here is the real link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIAbaifWJgw
thx! however, though endor is a forest moon, wouldn't it look more earthlike in someways? it looks more like dagobah in the deleted scene in episode III

Nice idea there Bingo.. I like the coorp of the station-fleet guys..
-Angel
amazing how much blue tint was in these films.
vaderios, u should do some mock ups of the death star II blowing up. i'd like to see different ways it could blow up. maybe a skull face or something.
okay maybe a little geeky, but do wat u think sounds cool.

Whenever ROTJ:R comes out... If even half of these suggested fixes get put in, the movie will be way more dynamic looking than ever before. It'll almost be like watching a brand new film, lol.
i second that. i especially look forward to what ady will do to the battle of endor scenes, more specifically the space battle.
We need everyone on this topic satisfied.

Palpatine's face really needs a broken exterior light source to show him off to best advantage (an analogue for moonlight through an open window).
If some could create a patterned shadow in the rough shape of some of those window frame forms and up the lighting between it would have a really spooky gothic noir look when it played across the prune faced one.
i was thinking of something simliar

wow these Return of the Jedi images are just stunning! If this could be done to Jedi it would be amazing.
i'm sure it's possible, with a lot of time and patience involved anyways.
i'm motivated now ;)

with the binders, i don't recall any energy binders in the pt, not a bad idea though.
Palpatine in Invsible hand :)
-Angel
did not notice that...

Useless effect of the day
Aka ROTS chains... whatever there are already simple chains in PT, just thought a Luke skywalker must help up more tight... after the mistakes the sith did in PT as well.
-Angel
i think the first pic makes the set look fake, however more evil, like a sith's lair.
with the binders, i don't recall any energy binders in the pt, not a bad idea though.

His skin actually looks real in ROTJ. In ROTS, it looks like he's wearing a rubber mask and has 2 yellow pennies in his eyes.
that was his actual face, not the eyes, there was just a lot of make up involved.
Yeah, I know. Which is why I just don't understand how it can look so fake.
good point.
btw, awsome mock ups vaderios. ur an expert at this stuff! ;)
i can relate...

I just thought about a couple of things:
(1) maybe the arm stump could be modified further to show a metal "bone" coming out of the stump, ie. a mix of the Terminator endo-skeleton mixed with some other components (as opposed to just generic wiring at the end)
(2) I always had a problem with Vader taking a knee(l) when Luke is whacking at him - it always felt like Vader wasn't beaten down by Luke so much as David Prowse was told to just get down and let Mark/Luke whack away. Maybe some editing magic could be used to take that brief scene out (Vader fights back, cut to Luke whacking away/ cut to Vader already down with Luke pummeling him/ then cuts arm off)
i think we need to take a closer look at the arm from episodes I and II to get a good idea of the arm.
with vader falling, i always assumed he tripped. i guess we could have luke wacking him with his fist.
i don't remember the novel mentioning anything about flaps. i don't think it's an issue. then again, we need something to keep the thread goin'.

Palpy with his real colors. Also more focus to the face since it was way too dark..
-Angel
I liked the ROTS make up better. it made him look more menacing, how a sith should be. besides, in ROTS Ian Mcdyrmind was happy to use is actual face and not a mask. You up to the challenge vaderios?
on the videos, ady said he wouldn't do any flashbacks, still its a neat idea. I wish there was a way to extend the range of planets at the end. i would've thought george would put kashyke in there.
