I personally would say that the droid assembly line sequence in AOTC is the worst sequence ever to appear on screen in a Star Wars film. It’s long, bland, inconsequential, and ultimately completely forgettable. Do you agree? What would you say is the worst? The Ewok movies don’t count, the Clone Wars animated movie or TV shows don’t count, the Holiday Special doesn’t count, and Rebels doesn’t count. We’re only counting the live action films: episodes I-VIII and R1.
The droid assembly line scene was no worse than the trash compactor scene in A New Hope. Both signify the “Belly of the Beast” stage in Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.
They both signify the same thing, sure, but the scene in AotC is indeed the worst/most cringe inducing scene in the saga. The trash compactor scene isn’t bad or cringey at all.
Punch’s list is no different than other users here.
That’s not “edgy” on a site that was originally dedicated to the Original Trilogy.

I’ve seen reviews complaining about the human characters being weak. I couldn’t disagree more. All three leads had wonderful arcs (recognizable arcs, sure, but well executed) important things to do that impact the story and were a joy to watch. I also loved the minor characters and villains.
This thing is well made and it’s absolutely WILD. Go see it.

Its almost like they don’t know how to respond to something “real”. They’ve always had CG so in a sense that fake digital look is just what unreal things (like aliens or spaceships) are supposed to look like in their minds.
It’s not just aliens n’ spaceships. People really think that revised Obi-Wan/Vader duel making the rounds looks “real”.

Watching ESB on TNT while I’m at the gym, just thinking about how mad fans would get if the movie came out today at the scene where Luke falls off the gantry and gets swooped into the tunnel.
Why?
Because there’s no explanation for it provided in the film. So it’s a “plot hole.”
I think the visuals and sound design do a great job of letting the viewer know what’s happening.

Well that’s what I’m saying. The longer things continue, it’s inevitable that some fans won’t like the direction things take.
I know many people who don’t like the influence GotG has had on the series, so it’s already there.
It’ll be interesting to see how the MCU fandom looks in another 5/10 years.
Buzzfeed just reported that a script has been completed for a KOTOR movie.
How so?
I think there’d be too many expectations from a lot of people that’d potentially ruin the films whichever way they go.
I’d be all in for more personal stories set during the Clone War, I think it’d really do wonders for that time period. We get some of it from the TV shows, but nothing actually good.
But yeah if they want to stay away from the main saga at all costs I think the old republic era is definitely the most logical pick. I really don’t want it to be a Jedi story though, I think it’d be cool to see more Rogue One-like films.
You say there’d be too many expectations, but the Clone Wars has an even greater chance of “offending” people as it is directly connected to the films. And while I love the era there are many OT fans who don’t want to return to the PT, and I respect that… TOR is a fresh start for everyone.
I think about it like the MCU. You have a ton of comics/books/games on the era, and the producers are now free to tell their own story. Most complaints regarding the ST from fans has been towards inconsistent writing (agree or disagree). But by adapting characters you would be more in an MCU position.
Man, the MCU is a lot of things but I don’t think I would ever say that it has “consistent writing.” The less SW can be like the MCU the better honestly (and I love the MCU).
Well, one thing you have to admit is how happy and united the fandom is.
The Star Wars fandom was also fairly united when the franchise was only 10 years old…
Let the MCU continue for another 30 years and you’ll see fractures.

From each film I’d keep:
Star Wars: 1980 flyover.
Empire: Covering the Wampa arm operator’s arm.
Jedi: Ropes around Han’s feet.
I was working at KFC when TPM released. I kept all the decor.
Gave it and all the rest of my Star Wars stuff to a friends son after RotS. (I had held hope that the PT would all come together at the end and we’d all see the brilliance of where Lucas was taking us. T’was not to be.)
Use the SC 38 footage by Fixitinpost to replace the original lightsaber fight in ANH.

JEDIT: I can see why people are impressed, I am too. What I can’t believe is that people think that thing could just be spliced right into the movie.

I used to try and ignore [the PT] entirely, but… that era is pretty much impossible to ignore.
Other than occasionally laughing about how bad it all was, I find it very easy.
Vader vs Obi-Wan Reimagined-
The new cinematography doesn’t match the original film at all .
And, thankfully, Ady shot down using it for Revisited long ago.
Some decent action set-pieces (barely) keep this instalment [AOTC] from being a complete bust.
I’m gonna need to see some proof. I don’t remember anything that even pumped the brakes during this things crash course to disaster.
Jedi Rocks is a heavy contender for the worst.
I remember siting in the theater in '97 feeling shocked and embarrassed.
I still say AOTC’s 3PO head swap is the worst sequence, but Jedi Rocks is in (a version of) a film I like, which makes it more personal. So I dunno…

I think the bluray source is being kept to keep a constant look for the Revisited trilogy.
Empire Revisited has the crushed blacks and the BD resolution.
If Star Wars looked way better than Empire and Jedi, it would be jarring.
(JEDIT: I think Ady’s using 4K83 for most of Jedi, but that’s because the bluray is much worse than SW and ESB.)
