Looking really good!
Looking really good!
The story, effects, and cinematography are all great.
I won’t give you any flack, but I disagree with this completely.
Also, I agree that TPM is the best and ROTS the worst.
They’re all three terrible movies though.
With a glorious thanks to Akaiii, I have made a decent x264 encode of this and distributed it to MySpleen and Cinemageddon. I have synced all available audio mixes (plus isolated score) and a legitimate subtitle translation to create the definitive version of this marvelous film in the English-speaking world. I hope that this attempt is proliferated for years to come until the film is given a proper release in the aforementioned English-speaking world.
Thanks so much!
-Sincerely,
aforementioned English-speaking world
^ That’s cool. Will you let us know what they think?
This is great news!
I’ve always wished it was more clear that the AT-AT is docking with the landing platform. There’s some wrong perspectives out the corridor windows making it so that the ‘head’ is detached from the body.
I’ve pointed out how this all works to many people. Everyone always seems to think it’s cool when they realize you can see the inside of the AT-AT behind Luke and the guards.
The fate of those being thrown into the pit is to be slowly digested over a period of a thousand years. At first glance, this would seem to be one of Jedi’s silly ideas (isn’t funny how long the torment lasts?), something that is very much in line with the “comical” torture of the Gonk droid, and the cartoon screeches of those falling into the pit.
Can’t agree with that at all. I always found it to be intimidating, unlike the comical torture.
However, isn’t also conceivable that a creature like Sarlacc is Force sensitive, and is able to extend the lifetime of its victims?
It digests you for a thousand years. Not keeps you alive that long.
But, the fun is that it can be anything you want it to be.
Really looking great, Dre!
That’s great!
Dig it! I’d like to see all three covers.
Cool project, man!
Hopefully it’s cool?
It’s very cool!
So, how does this stack up against the Toho bluray?
^ I love that picture of the Jedi marque and queue!
I have a .ts of this. If anyone wants a copy, throw me a PM.
Sounds too good to be true!
PM sent.
Interesting to see that 4K83 has more info on the left of frame than the BD.
BD has more on the right though.
with all its imperfections.
I hear that often, and this is obviously a personal peeve, but this makes it sound like the SE is perfect. Or at least more perfect than the original version. And that just isn’t true.
Maybe that isn’t even what’s meant, but.
TFA had my attention, but this is looking to be something I might really like.
Dunno if I wanna subscribe to an entire streaming service just for one show though…
Manos has a beautiful 2k transfer, an uncleaned “grindhouse version”, and great docs on the making of the movie and the restoration of the film.
It’s a fantastic bluray release.
Meanwhile Mike Verta presented Disney with an astounding 4k restoration of Star Wars, offered it to them for free and they said “nah.”
It looks the same on my cell phone.
What’s the big deal?
Shit. Someone found us out. There is no difference.
I mean, obviously you could tell what with using such an ideal monitor.
/sarcasm
VERY COOL! That’s really amazing.
But, I was wondering “what makes this exclusively OOT?” and suddenly…
YES!
I’ve honestly disliked that line from the get-go.
Why say it within the context of this story? Luke is about to face down Vader. Don’t tell the audience Luke isn’t important anymore. Even if Lucas was thinking Luke should have a sister at the time, I don’t see why he would reveal that to the audience now.
It is clear to me Lucas originally wanted to have a new character be Luke’s sister, but when he decided to stop making Star Wars movies, he wanted to tie everything up into a neat bow. Happily ever after.
Yes. Yep. Yeah.
So if Han and Luke are having a love triangle, just make Luke her brother! Tadaa!
There was no “love triangle”. Leia wanted Han. She wasn’t torn between them at all.
Yeah! Cool stuff. I really do hope to compete!
Actually, “compete” might be too strong a term… I just wanna be in the race!
If you’re unfamiliar, Le Mans is a 24 hour endurance race. The track is 8 miles around. The cars typically average about 3,000 miles in the 24 hours.
I have no hope of competing in the Le Mans race, but I might have a shot at next years Le Mons!

Yes! This!
I’d forgotten as well!
“Younglings”
I always forget about this, then I’ll see a clip or a quote and, man, that’s just SO bad.
Hilariously stupid.
the whole Mon Calamari thing is EU
I’m glad you agree.
