Anybody know if he has plans to do more Star Wars reviews? The story line with the kidnapped woman is unresolved so I would guess yes? I'd like to see him do the OT as well. Would be interesting to hear him review movies he likes.

Lazy Ray, is Lazy..

Fixed that for you. Anyway, I would agree in thinking that the blip versions are the highest quality available.

No, you actually fu*ked it up. Inattentive bkev is inattentive.

Guys, do you know whether the on-line vids at redlettermedia.com are the best quality that exists of these reviews? I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested but I'm gonna make a DVD containing all 3 reviews with menus and stuff for myself, so it would be nice to have them in the best possible quality for that.

I was gonna do the same thing. I have no experience making menus though, so if you're gonna do it, I'll just grab yours when your done. Lazy ray is lazy.

And I'm not 100% sure, but I'd guess that the versions up on the RLM site are the best available.

Here's the opening of Jedi that I'd love to see. It's quite close to what Possesed is working on for his edit, but still different. I'm no good at posting pics to show exactly what I'm talking about, but I hope you can follow.

Opening text would have to be altered to mention that Luke has returned to Dagobah to continue his training.

After opening text, we pan down to Darth Vaders Super Stardestroyer near the uncompleted Death Star.

Cut to Darth Vader in his mediation chamber talking to Luke telepathically through the force urging him to join him on the darkside.

cut to the deleted scene of Luke in the cave working on his new light saber. Edit the exterior of the cave to resemble Dagobah. Luke shakes the voice in his head and continues working and then igniting his saber.

Cut back to the Super Stardestroyer and we see Vader's shuttle leave for the Death Star (why was he leaving from a standard Stardestroyer originally?) continue to the original opening scene with Vader and Jerrod.

After that, cut to Yoda's hut on Dagobah for Yoda's death scene. After Luke says "So I am a Jedi." Cut Yoda's line about having to face Vader again and just cut to him saying "When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be." This way we get the idea that Luke has continued and now finished his training with Yoda. Yoda dies then cut to the Emperors arrival on the Death Star, removing the scene with Obi-Wan.

This would give the beginning of the film a more menacing tone with Vader still haunting Luke and more of a build up to the action at Jabba's palace. Agree? Disagree?

I want to have the shot of the falcon and the xwing on the planet, otherwise we won't know where the droids come from.

We don't see or know where they've come from in the original film either. It builds mystery. We know it has to have something to do with saving Han, but other than that we don't know where they are coming from, what exactly they are doing there or who else is around. Of course we've all seen the film tons of times so we know who the bounty hunter is and we immediately know it's Luke in the hood, but a first time viewer doesn't need to be let in on this until they are revealed.

The problem for me here is that we've already been with R2 on Dagobah, so it seems strange to see him somewhere else so quickly. Of course, we have no idea how long it's been between the scene on Dagobah, the Death Star and now Tatooine, but it seems strange to see the same character jumping around so much so early in the film. Other than that, I love the Dagobah scene moved up to where you have it.

Just watched the clip. Great stuff! Here's just a few things that I feel need just a bit of work:

Obi-Wan suddenly sitting is a bit jarring. leaving the dialog whle he takes a seat would be better I think

Although the shots work, I don't think there is any need to show Luke leaving Dagobah. The cut would be smoother going from Luke and Obi-Wan's conversation straight to the establishing shot of the DS. Would also leave a little more mystery to the cloaked figure (Luke) entering Jabba's palace.

One more thing, I love the shot of the x-wing and the Falcon in the desert (add a little blowing sand and it would easily pass as a live action shot!) but I think the transition would work better cutting from the space shot of Tatooine to the droids in the desert. No need to let the audience know who's already there and who isn't until they reveal themselves.

I really like what you're doing here. The beginning of the film has so much more tension and emotion this way!

[edit] sorry if this post sounds like recycled bits from others, but I didn't read anything so nothing would be spoiled. But I've started looking back now and I see that maybe others have already mentioned some of this.

What can be done to make Yoda's dialog in ROTJ clearer? I showed the trilogy to a first timer awhile back and she couldn't understand a word he said in Jedi but had no problem understanding him in Empire. I had to put the subtitles on for that scene. I've been watching it since it's release, so I guess I'm accustomed to what he says, but listening again with fresh ears, she's right, it's very difficult to understand. I dunno if it's the DVD sound that makes it hard to hear or if it's always been that way and I've just deciphered it over the years, but it really is horrible. Anybody else have this problem?

Why does he communicate with Ozzle via a monitor, but with his ground troops and the Emperor via hologram? It is inconsistent. Do you plan to address this Ady?

Because Ozzle is on the same ship as Vader (I think...). The Emperor and the ground troops are clearly somewhere far away.

How many times have you said that you aren't coming back, only to return within hours? No wonder you don't think GL is a liar. You probably don't think you are either.

I envy you, man, I just can't be satisfied with that. The thing is that I watch almost every other film down to 70s B-horror films in HD, so I just can't settle for a non anamorphic transfer from the early 90s for my favourite movies of all time. I want the real STAR WARS on Blu-Ray!!! :-(

OH, no no no! I didn't mean that I'll be satisfied with that. I just mean that this release will not have the versions I'd like it to have, so I have no interest in it outside of the deleted scenes. I'd rather have D_J's versions than this HD set.

It's a toss-up whether this reasoning is any worse than the 'immaculate conception' origin for Anakin that GL gave us.  I'm torn...

Honestly, I'd rather she told Gin that she was raped. Would leave questions about who it was, weather he was or wasn't a sith himself, give a very dark origin for Anikin and could bring up risque moral discussions about rape victims getting abortions.

But then I also think Star Wars should be for children as well as adults, and that could rule out most young folks being able to see the film.

Because LFL has learned from their mistakes and will get it right this time around. The reason why the sound mix for ep4 and the colors where rushed is because they had to meet a dvd release date. Some don't belive that but it's a fact. This time around LFL will get it right.

You realize of course, that if you do this it will not be a question of if it gets leaked, but when.  It is an undeniable fact that the ability to keep a secret is inversely proportional to the magnitude of the number of people who know it to begin with.

It's one of the subsets of Einstein's theory of relativity.

=o)

The work print he sent out long ago hasn't leaked, and I honestly don't think it will. There would be no point really. Especially with the "final work print" seeing as how the final product will be available so shortly afterward. Who would want to D/L and unfinished version anyway?

For the last time I don't work for LFL I am just a star wars fan like everyone else quit saying I work for them.

Then how do you know they will fix all of these problems? If you're just "a Star Wars fan like everyone else", then you must be aware of LFL's track record of mucking these things up, yeah? So tell us, how are you so sure they will fix all the issues that need fixing?
