STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>AVAILABLE NOW</strong>

I'm pretty sure the new line was recorded specifically for the SE. Just like Boba Fett's new voice and the new Emporer Hologram scene. If you compare Vader's voice to how he sounds in RotS, it's a match.

But "Alert My...." was done for the '97 edition, not the '04. It would have been easy to get the Jango Fett guy to record some lines for the '04 while he was around, but to fly in Jones for one line? Nah.

When have you quoted Star Wars lines in the right situation?

We all love to quote Star Wars as it has many great lines.

When have you used them in conversation or situations where it is funny or appropriate (or not appropriate)

A girl I was seeing once said to me "look at the size of that thing!" and I said "Cut the chatter Red Two." We both laughed and then, ahem, continued.

My friends and I quote SW all the time, but I can't think of a better instance.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>720p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>
Time

So which version has 3PO's dialog and which does not? Growing up I mostly watched the version in the original vhs box set:

Did this have it? If not I'm unsure why it's so familiar to me. And if it does have it, what version did all of you who aren't familiar with it watch?

Before I got the set I used to rent an older copy that had different cover art. Maybe that's it?

EDIT: thanks Ash!

And I still don't like 3PO's recorded dialog about the power loss at one of the terminals blah blah. Still doesnt sound right mix-wise

I grew up hearing that line all the time, but I can't remember where. May have had to do with the version that the local TV stations played. I was more surprised the first time I didn't hear it.

Same here. I do agree that the mix sounds different than the rest of the dialog, but I think it's ok. Guess maybe because I'm used to it.

After some thinking, I'm also iffy on changing something so iconic, the farthest I'd go is omitting the numeral, but I really don't think the title should be excluded, nor do I think the iconic gold/yellow text should be changed to any other color.

I'm not for changing the beginning titles at all. For a series of edits that seems to be about capturing the original spirit so well, changing the opening titles seems to go against that completely.

Still... I do like the idea of removing the episode numbers. Why should there only be three films before A New Hope? Without the numbers the series is free to expand infinitely forward or backward.

Shields?

Is there ever a visual indication in the OT of shields being hit?  Or an otherwise direct hit being "deflected"?

When Star Destroyer hits Falcon in TESB.

This. Actually there are several instances where you can see lasers hitting shields if you watch closely. (blockade runner and falcon in ANH, falcon in ESB) Where the lasers hit the shields it makes a small explosion just above the surface of the ship.

Star Wars Names

Han Solo... Han isn't far from Hans, a real name, and Solo isn't usually a name but a recognizable word.

I've always thought of "Solo" being a nickname Han uses. As in ray afraid. Afraid obviously isn't my real last name, but for the most part I do go by that in the real world. I thought Han probably used it because in his line of work you wouldn't want to be known by your legal name.

I realize than in the EU it's established as his real name, but not in my world.

I've been considering typing up a comprehensive list of all differences between the various audio tracks.  Just have to get around to actually doing it.

This would be more appreciated than you could possibly imagine! I love the idea of having all these audio options, but without knowing all the differences it's hard to decide which one I'd prefer or which one to go to for what options. I'm sure it would be quite a bit of work to list all the differences, but it really would be invaluable. The audio info to each film would also make for a good insert to each DVD package.

Reddit Q&amp;A with Matthew Stover, author of the ROTS novelization

Wait.  That just made me think of something.  He based his novel off of the script?  Which script?  Didn't Lucas alter significant portions of the story during production?  Wasn't the shift made from "dark side seduction" to "driven mad by lost love" done in pick-ups?  So how close is the novelization to the movie?

That might be why the novel was good. Both of those are in it, but it goes even deeper, dwelling on Anakin's overwhelming fears, mostly of death.

I've not read the book but it seems to me that Anakin's story would be much easier to tell in a novel because of all the internal struggle and emotion that we can't see. That doesn't make me wanna read the novelizations though because I know the core story is still crap.

Qui-Gon is back

Qui Gon cannot manifest himself as an image and only as a voice, he never was able to merge his whole self with the force.  His body did not disappear and was burned.

This is seriously bullshit, and not in continuity with revenge of the sith, the saga or the novelization.

But Anikin didn't disappear and he still came back as a ghost.

I really couldn't care any less about any of this though.
