because why not

Yoda seems to be looking at him and he seems to be offering Luke a hug. That actually makes this more believable than Haydens head which isn't acknowledging anything that's happening in the scene at all. He's just standing there looking like a jerk. I think you should move 2pac behind Yoda and enlarge him so that his arms are around Anikin and Obiwan. Do this and you'll win the internets!

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Darth Hade said:

I was bored so I compared the early change list with the final one now up on page one.

I noticed that these were missing.

---------------------------------------------------

Tweaking Tauntaun's facial movements, adding blinks.
Altering Ian McDiarmond's dialogue to pre-2004 version.
Enhancing Slave 1's cockpit displays.
Replacing shadow of TIEs and Falcon against the Big Asteroid.
Fixing the asteroid that explodes before the Star Destroyer laser hits it.
New asteroid slug interior mouth model.
Added mist to wide shot of crashed X-Wing to fix continuity problem.
Possibly adding C-3PO coming down the stairs upon arrival in Cloud City.
Restoring original "Who are you?" Stormtrooper line.
Fixing shot where Luke hands off lightsaber to stage-hand.
Removing Luke's head that pops back into frame when he jumps off the Carbonite Platform.
Fixing shots where lightsaber flashes show off the edges of the gantry matte.
Fixing the problem on the gantry when the flashes light up the back walls and show the visible matte painting.

---------------------------------------------------

Are these changes confirmed?

Some of these changes have already been shown, such as correcting Lukes head from popping back up. But somethings like the new slug mouth haven't been mentioned in a long time...

It's mostly frame-by-frame stuff. This is an example of how some of the changes had to be made

Are there any other videos like this for this project? I showed this one to a couple of friends. One is a huge OT fan, the other simply appreciates the original films as good fun movies. They were both blown away by the attention to detail and Harmys determination to make this right and are very excited to see the final product!

Maybe Ady could start writing a journal of sorts, every night vaguely outlining what he worked on. A post of what Ady is doing everyday would be awesome, and probably help build back up some anticipation for people who have lost a little in the silence.

As much as I'd love to see more updates about every little detail of this project, I think Ady has more than enough to do without having to write up a report at the end of each day. Maybe some anticipation has been lost for a few folks, but I'm sure that won't spoil their excitement when ESB:R is finally released.

at the ROTS wrap party, lucas took the microphone and said something like "when your part of a crew, your part of a crew - and when your not....your not" WTF?!?! :(

What does that mean? What was he talking about?

I don't think I'd ever given the ROTS soundtrack a listenthrough until now. I'm listening to the extended edition someone on the internet put together, which is all well and good (beyond the odd stray sound effect they couldn't remove)...

Wait, the soundtrack to ROTS has sound effects from the movie during the music? Why? How does that even happen?

Only because it's a fan-made extended edition. The one-disc official release is obviously lacking a lot of the music, so someone did their best to get as much of the rest of the music out of the movie as they could. Sometimes effects just can't be helped. The odd spaceship engine and such.

Ah, I see. Thought you were saying the official soundtrack had effects sounds on it.

Idea: STAR WARS - REVISITED (Adywan) | Addition of music from the other films, too late to change?

My problem with this is the same as it is in Revisited: It's just a music track playing behind a scene it wasn't composed for. The music wasn't made for that scene and it shows because it doesn't match up. I'll be happy with SWRHD and the choice of no music.

Ahem, Fantasia.

I'm not saying it hasn't or can't happen, just that it didn't work for me here. Also, wasn't Fantasia edited around the music so that it matched?

Scientific evidence as to why the Stormtroopers had miserable aim (and why the good guys had nearly flawless aim)

There is an even better explanation in the plot of the first film.

THE HOMING BEACON.

There would be very little point sticking one on the Falcon if the Empire intended to shoot and kill the escaping Rebels.

As Leia said, "It's the only explanation for the ease of our escape".

Why they are such lousy shots in the later films is where you need fancy theories.

That makes senses except for the stormtroopers in the sentry ships - would they have been briefed to attack and get blown up or not briefed and their ships handicapped in some way?

Bingo nailed it. IT'S THE PLOT OF THE FILM! Whatever the case with the TIEs was, Leia obviously could tell they weren't coming full force. It was after the TIE attack that she called the whole thing "To easy".

Empire has a few problems with lousy fire from the Stormtroopers during the escape from Cloud City. But R2's tricks and such are supposed to be interfering and whatever and for the most part it works for me while I'm watching.

Jedi... Now we get to serious problems. The inefficiency of the Stormtroopers during the Endor battle boggles the mind at times. Usually they're just getting hit by small spears that don't puncture their armor, yet it keeps them from being able to shoot. What the hell?

One thing I notice that doesn't seem to get mentioned much is the Emperor's theme used in the Death Star conference room. That was an amazing addition by Ady.

Yeah, that really added to the atmosphere in a proper way. I also love the line "disolved??" that was added. Very subtle and very effective.

...y'all might be more willing to see this as just a really good sci-fi movie

assuming it's really good, of course.

That's where I'm at with it. I'm really not too interested in a Alien prequel. I am interested in another good sci-fi film by Riddly Scott though and if it has some ties to Alien, that's neat too.

The idea of a different story within the same universe but featuring very little of what you've seen of that universe is very interesting to me. Would love to see Riddly do something like that with Blade Runner.

But what about the lightsabers?? Will those be changed as well?? ; )

Which version/release of the Star Wars movies do you watch and why?

trimboNZ said (in the ESB:R thread):

Recently I sat down with my seven year old son and introduced him to Star Wars. ANH seemed the right place to start and as for which version, well there was no contest.

My next dilemma is whether to wait for this edit to be completed before showing him ESB.

Having just read this, I must apologise to thecolorsblend and acknowledge that there is something to what he says. In light of this post, fanedits don't seem altogether as harmless as I'd have liked to think. The post shows that some people may actually be exposed to a fanedit of a film before they saw the original and there's definitely something wrong and disturbing about that.

That's how I feel about remakes. Whenever I'm talking 'favorite films' with people, it seems like I'm constantly having to say "Oh, No no no. I'm talking about the ORIGINAL Dawn Of The Dead / Texas Chainsaw Massacre / Halloween ect. ect. NOT the shitty remake." it's quite frustrating.

The thing with fan edits is that 1- they are usually something that a fan has to seek out on their own. So it's not likely to be mistaken for the original It's not like they sell fan edit DVDs at Best Buy alongside the original cuts. (except for the Star Wars films of course. In that case GL's fan edits are the only ones available.) and 2- the files that are downloaded generally marked "FAN EDIT BY SOMECRAZYBASTARD!" unlike remakes which are usually advertised as if it was a brand new film. I find it hard to believe that people are being exposed to fan edits thinking that it's the original cut. ...Unless of course they are being shown the edited versions by someone who is withholding important information from them...

If you can find a 2D screening of the movie, that would be my recommendation.

So, you'd actually recommend that people see this... thing?

If they're already fans of the movie, yeah.

Ok, yeah, I agree. If you're gonna watch something that damages your brain, the least you could do is watch it in 2D as to not damage your eyes as well.

Hey, I see that the thread title has changed a few times. Any chance it could be changed to say 3D TPM instead of 3D STAR WARS? It's nitpicky for sure, but that definitely isn't the wonderful film called Star Wars that they are showin' in the theaters.

this is looking more and more like a green hornet one and done

The Star Wars juggernaut no longer has the capacity to recognize failure, even retroactively. My personal prediction is that this 3D rehash will be the world's slowest and most predictable train wreck for the next several years, and afterwards, the usual suspects will deem it to be a success by measuring against whatever goalposts they manage to have constructed by then.

I totally agree. Even if the numbers are disappointing to George, I'm sure the thought is "Well, the next one will do better. People loved seeing Yoda jumping around like a frog with a glowstick!"
