Just had a hunt for some, found some german versions with german audio. 720p 16:9, is this what you have?

Edit: They are pillarboxed, but they do seem Highish quality.

Edit2: On closer inspection, they look to come from the same SD masters as the DVD and dont have much more detail.

They have English audio, I can cap later if needed?

Did anyone ever figure out what this was?

Yeah it’s dumb but it’s better than the CGI rope being added.

I feel dirty saying this, but…
I disagree. At least having a rope around his ankle gives reason.

It feels like you could trim three or four of those shots and solve the continuity problems by removing Han’s feetfirst fall, then having his headfirst flop be stopped by Chewie without cutting to him grabbing Han’s boots at all.

I agree all the way.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I hate to clutter the thread with this, but hopefully after 10 years, I’ve earned the right to do it this once…

Is there any way to burn the MKV to a bluray disc?
I tried, but it looks very pixelated.
I know nothing about remuxing or demuxing or whatever it is I’ve seen mentioned, so maybe point your buddy toward a guide? or maybe a PM so this thread doesn’t get clogged up with my idiocy.
Thanks!

Why don't people hate the Palpatine re-casting in ESB yet despise Force ghost Anakin's re-casting in RotJ?
Time

Many people hate the addition of Hayden because if, like me, you only watch the OT, Hayden comes out of nowhere, while we just met Sebastian as Anikin moments ago.
And it makes sense that he would return in the form he was redeemed in and, more importantly,
as someone Luke would recognize.

It’s a cool idea, but wouldn’t a more mystical reason make more sense in SW? E.g. the idea of bonding with a living crystal if you’re a Jedi, or “bleeding” it if you’re a Sith.

I don’t get why so many people don’t like the new lightsaber crystal lore. It’s such a Star Wars-y concept. They’ve even named them Kyber crystals.

because the inclination against the mystic side of Star Wars is strong among sci-fi nerds

Rather, that the movies never indicate this level of ‘bonding with a living crystal’; Yoda relegates it to the status of Luke’s blaster in being just another distraction from his Jedi training in his test at the tree, and the Emperor casually dismisses it as a ‘Jedi’s weapon’, implying that the Sith wouldn’t use lightsabers at all. Vader presumably only has one because he was formerly a Jedi. The crystal is clearly not bonded too closely to Force users since Han can use Luke’s lightsaber just fine.

Point being, the lightsaber in the OT is merely an elegant weapon from a more civilized age. Giving it a ton of weird mystical baggage actually makes the weapon less elegant in the story, not more.

This, all the way.
Lightsabers are just Star Wars swords. The Jedis do amazing things with them because it’s the Jedis that have mystical powers, not the sword.

I only noticed for the first time yesterday when I watched the Disney+ version of ANH that the entire time Luke is trying to talk Han into flying with the Rebellion at Yavin, C-3PO and Chewbacca are chatting calmly in the background.

I’ve always loved this!
I’ve also always figured this is why he’s so concerned for 3PO in ESB. They’ve really become friends. I guess being on Chiewie’s side during chess games payed off.

@adywan They have added another change for the film on Disney+, in which Greedo says something to Han (likely an insult) before they shoot. Do you plan on including this change?

What do you think?

It’s not bad. The problem with Greedo shooting first before Han does is that it messes up with his transition from anti-hero to hero.

Nah, man. That’s not the problem.
Han wasn’t shooting in cold blood, as Lucas loves to say. Greedo was about to kill him. There’s nothing wrong with saving your own life from a guy who just said he was gonna take your ship “over your dead body” and that he’s been looking forward to doing so “for a long time”.
The problem is that Lucas doesn’t seem to understand what’s happening in his own movie.

many of the casual Star Wars fans (or sci-fi fan) they’ll probably tune in expecting the series to be about Bobba or the Fetts. It’ll be interesting to see how they take to new characters in a familiar timeline and setting…

But what’s the difference? Looks just like him, talks just like him, acts just like him. Has the same job.
Would it really be that different if he also once captured a guy named Han?
Why not truly make him a new character? Why the familiar costume?
I’m looking forward to it, but not totally sold.

Anyone else thing the Mandalorian guy sounds like a PT clone?
(I haven’t seen the PT since 2005ish, so I could be wrong, but it stood out to me)
Now, how am I gonna watch this thing?

Bingo!

Is there a reason why the Hutts are all portrayed in a negative way?

Seriously, they are always slimy scumbags, and I don’t recall a single Hutt with genuinely noble intentions.

This has bugged me, too.
In TPM some guy says “The Hutts are gangsters!” Like, all of em? The entire species?
Stupid.

Do we know that the Hutts are a species and not just a clan within whatever intergalactic slug species they are?

Good point. Would give reason that they usually use the title with the name.
I’m going with this from now on.

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

Here’s my take on the “Must obey” line…
Vader NEEDS Luke to overthrow the Emperor. The Emperor’s hold on Vader is too strong. But, if Luke kills the Emperor, then the two could “rule the galaxy as father and son.” and Vader’s dark hold on Luke would be as strong as the Emperor’s was on him.
This stems from their confrontation in ESB. He’s urging Luke to do what he can’t.

[JEDIT] i may be misremembering how/when that line is used. it’s been awhile since i last saw rotj. but.

It probably happens too fast to be noticed at normal speed, but Luke has a pretty good grip on his saber.

And now I have the mental image of his hand grasping the hilt long after it falls.

When the hand dies, the tendons in the fingers can grip very hard and stay that way.
So, yeah. Luke’s hand probably held onto that thing as it burned in the garbage or rotted away or whatever happened.
