I’d say this is a perfect place to voice frustration about the situation. Blow off all the steam ya want, we’re all pals.
I think the mind of “We want the version we like” is coming across stronger than “Erasing history is wrong” & that makes some view the frustration/anger as silly/misplaced. Many conversations lately have revolved around this, and I think some are reading that as aggression.

I just don’t get how him checking the cloak doesn’t make sense in the context of the series if it apparently does in the context of a standalone. Just asking for elaboration.

After looking into it, it seems maybe Vader wouldn’t know what happened.

It’s the same make-up/mask used in RotS, which is much different than the RotJ look.
I get that anal retentive fans like that it’s the same actor, but the execution is awful. As are the stupid changes to the dialog in the scene.
I personally love the original Emperor & wish they’d stuck closer to that. Clive Revel’s voice is awesome & the look is creepy & mysterious.
I dig Ian too, though. (In Jedi. He’s silly in everything else.)

I brought this up in the Revisited thread (years ago, probably). Don’t remember how it was received by anyone.

Funny that a change I’d like to see actually removes something from the film rather than add to it.
It works fine In Star Wars, but doesn’t make sense in A New Hope.

It’s really fantastic. The animation is great!

Yeah. Regardless of how short or simple it is I’m always glad to see old EU novels like Shadows of the Empire get some attention.

It’s made me want to read it again. Gotta get a copy of the book and the TP.

We learn who those character truly are through their response to the crisis in the film, and I personally think that’s so much more interesting than just a series of flashbacks

I assumed that was the comparison :p

We’re discussing the 2004 change where George replaced the original ESB Emperor with the horrible RotS monster face Emperor. Not Adywan’s excellent fanedit.

I honestly never noticed the difference, in my mind the emperor was always Ian.

See, now this is the kind of stuff I can’t believe is said on a site dedicated to preserving the OUT.
