They hardly make sense if you don’t skip films. Almost every one of em ends with Freddy’s undeniable death, and each one opens with his nonsense return.
I love the original film, but even it falls on it’s ass in the last act.

I didn’t mind the movie ending with finding Luke, but I really hated the scene. I suddenly felt like I was watching a Nat Geo documentary. Skellig Michael and the cinematography just pulled me right out of the film.
It was good to see Luke though.
A movie made for “kids” in the 70s, or even just fifteen years ago, is a lot different than what people consider a movie for kids now. When I was a kid(10-13), we all wanted to see movies involving people getting shot and/or stabbed to death, with lots of sex and/or fast vehicles in between. Kids were renting and watching Friday the 13th at sleepovers. Every kid I knew saw Tombstone at some point back in the day. My sister snuck into Scream in theatres when she was just 10 years old. Now it seems like people think kids want to see Jar Jar Binks, or maybe they don’t care what kids want to see and just care about what they think kids should see. I grew up filling my head with rock & roll music and violent movies and I turned out decent enough.
Watched this with my best pal last night. We’ve never seen the blurays and are mostly used to seeing the films from the original VHS boxset.
we’re blown away by the quality! Several times while watching we both started laughing out loud just because it looks so clean and clear! The space battle stuff is amazing! Also we both noticed for the first time that R2 has a little part that sprays water when he gets shot on Endor. Neat!

By your apparent standards, I wouldn’t say that your very funny most of time either. I mean, it’s not joke of the year, and it’s certainly not very clever, but it’s not appallingly unfunny.

As for Jabba being on Tatooine. I don’t really have a problem with it. Luke was always going to go back to Tatooine. Anyone who says so flippantly "I’m never coming back to this place ever again: is doomed by irony.
True, but there’s nothing in Luke’s return to Tatooine in ROTJ that makes any kind of ironic connection other than “Oh, gee, he had to go back there for a minute, and then leave again.”. If he had been holed up there studying the force or whatever because he felt “centered” there or something, then that connection would work. As it stands, there’s no reason to have Jabba’s palace on Tatooine.

I’d keep it as is. Seeing characters we don’t know walking through a place we’ve not been doesn’t seem necessary or even wanted. Seems like it would be a bit confusing.

I’d take someone who didn’t get a joke about Batman over someone claiming he’s too brilliant for another user to comprehend any day of the week.

I’m the one who made the original joke and I wasn’t referencing real Batman movies.

Also, I wasn’t defending any actions on his part other than the joke that the conversation pertained to. He mentioned the Alien films that weren’t included in the original joke, and Frink started jumping down his throat for no apparent reason. And if Frink didn’t get the joke, he a) was being dense, and b) didn’t need to be such a troll just cause he didn’t get one joke.
