Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

I think he means that the amount of detail lost at 720p is relatively negligible due to the poor quality of the 2004 masters. I believe Harmy has demonstrated this to some degree with 1080p/720p comparison renders.

Yep.
The numbers don’t mean a thing if the master being used can’t be brought up past 720. It’s amazing how horrible the official blurays are, ain’t it?!

VINYLVINYLVINYL!
Time

I just picked up a first pressing of the B-52’s second album Wild Planet, and I’m pretty damn happy about it. The guy only wanted 4$. I gave him 5.
My large vinyl collection was stolen several years ago. My current collection is small, but growing. I’m not a huge collector these days, so it’s growth is slow. I just pick things up if I happen to come across an album I really like at a good price.

Stray Cats- Gonna Ball (first pressing)
Pixies- Come On Pilgrim (re-relese)
The Smiths- Louder Than Bombs (first pressing)
The Misfits- Static Age (first pressing)
The B-52’s- Wild Planet (first pressing)
U2- Discotheque/Holy Joe (single)

Fun fact! The first word I ever spoke was “Record!” Well, actually it was “Beckord!” but it was clear what I meant. 😃

(I really dislike that open mouthed smiley face)

I don’t like the orange ships at cloud city. If it was just one capsule, it’d be fine, but as it is, it looks silly and ugly.
This doesn’t bother me at all though. In fact, one of the things I like about Star Wars is that not everything looks Ultra-Cool. Some things look a bit dopey and that makes the world a little more real to me.

You’ve said that before, but it doesn’t make me like either design any more than I do.
Silly looking things look silly.

Legacy of Sequel Trilogy?

On a side note how Vader got redeemed was beautiful but him showing up as a Force Spirit is troublesome too. For one how did he know the ability?

I’ve always assumed it’s just somethin’ that happens to Jedis.
Who says it’s something they gotta learn before they die?

Secondly, is all of the darkness inside him gone? It would be unconvincing to me if suddenly Anakin is a completely good person with no signs of his old temperament.

Obi-Wan wasn’t the perfect example of a squeeky-clean do-gooder. He lies to and manipulates Luke.
I don’t think you have to be Jesus to be a jedi.
Nobody’s a “completely good person”.

In what way I should watch a Star Wars Marathon?
Time

I really can’t understand why anyone would want to squeeze two (or three!) terrible films into the middle of a trilogy of good films. They add nothing to the original story and have nothing good going for them in any edit (other than Frinks!). All they could possibly add to the marathon is several boring ours and lots of eye rolling and groans.
So what’s you guys reason for including them?

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!

I mean, yeah, they kissed and that’s kind of gross, but it was just to make Han jealous. Not because Leia was really attracted to her brother.

I’ve preached that message several times in my years here, but there are some who still think Luke and Leia were “making out” and that there was some kind of unresolved “love triangle” at the end of ESB.
And I mostly agree with the rest of your post, too.

Lord Haseo,
Everything you mentioned being good about the PT, I disagree with.
Everything you mentioned being bad about the OT, I disagree with.
Dek Rollins,
I agree with your points.
Wolfman,
Don’t worry, you’re still awesome and you fit in perfectly. Both of you.

Also, Birdemic and the like are what they say they are. They aren’t parading around as high art, they’re slinking around as trashy cheap movies. Nothin’ wrong with that in my book.

What about Avatar The Last Airbender?

I’ve never had any interest in the kids cartoon or the stupid looking M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie based on it, so I wouldn’t know. I’m guessing it’s probably on par with AOTC and was made for that kind of audience.

How anyone can find the good in any of the prequels is discombobulating

There are good things about them…they’re just few and very far between.

I’ve heard that for years, but just can’t see any truth in it.
