In what way I should watch a Star Wars Marathon?

Not really any changes to my knowledge. Apparently one shot is shortened because it was impossible to pan & scan properly. I still am not even sure about that though.

It’s a shot of Obi-Wan and Liam Neeson jumping over a gap during the fight with Mall. It’s shot from above looking down. It’s not in the pan&scan version.
That’s the only bit of PT trivia I know.

Ah, I’m not worried about it. I didn’t really care for the first CA film, aside from the period setting.
I’ve heard nothin’ but good things about the sequel. I’ve been lazy about getting around to watching it though.
I watched Ant-Man recently and really liked it. I hope they make more smaller stories like that and less huge “epics” like the Avengers films.
The return of Spidey, if he’s done right, could easily bring me back into the fandom.

How accurate are the Harmy versions?

I dunno… I’d say something like 99.2% ?
And if you say you can spot any of the unauthentic 8%, I’ll assume you’re lying. 😉
I might not be totally correct there, but when I watch 'em, there’s nothing that pulls me out of the experience.

So you’re saying Harmy gave 107.2% effort?

I was told there would be no math.

This is about day 15 of not drinking anything at all that isn’t alcoholic. All I’ve been drinking is screwdrivers in the morning, beer in the afternoon, bottled water that’s about 1/5 filled with vodka while at work, and whiskey and caffeine free coke at night. Other than a few sips of water here and there. I feel pretty good actually…

I’m very worried about you. This is a depressing and lethal path you are on. You truly need medical and psychiatric help. Not trying to be rude. I’m genuinely worried.

but in good news…

No. We’re trying to make a good SW film, not some fan-fiction.

I gotta agree with Isan. The “all the bad guys- and only the bad guys- have red lightsabers” is a prequelism I can do without.

If the OT is “WWII in space”, they could’ve built the new trilogy as the “Cold War in space”, with two factions remnants of the old Republic as the “superpowers”. In staying true to this Cold War setting, we would’ve had less battles between armies, but more espionage and information control, leading to a completely different kind of plot and scenes from the OT.

Yes to this!

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

I didn’t hate TFA, but there’s plenty to Plinkett about.
I agree that it’ll probably be more like the Titanic review. I hope so.

Speaking of Plinkett, I’m working on edits of his PT reviews. My aim is to make them something my sister can watch while her kids are around. I’m cutting most of the swearing and tangents and sticking to the reviewing. This keeps them to the point and offers a shorter runtime while still being hilarious (a few jokes actually work better IMO).
This might not be for everyone, but I was wondering if anybody would be interested in them when I’m done.

I had no idea who Palegeus was.

I don’t know the extent of your Star Wars knowledge but I’m sure anyone who has seen the PT recently would at least recognize the name.

Haven’t seen 'em in about 10 years. Won’t see 'em again.

Nobody cares about the PT and the ST has no need to contaminate it’s self with that crap.

Seeing as how James Luceno made Plagueis into a fantastic character it wouldn’t hurt to have him in the ST and if written right it would the Star Wars Saga all the better.

No idea who that is. And couldn’t care any less.

And liking some bad movies doesn’t entitle you to anything. :p

When the fuck have I ever said I liked the PT? Don’t put words in my fucking mouth man.

Liking decent movies doesn’t entitle you to anything either.
And it was a joke.
Calm down.

Perhaps he’ll be confirmed Plagueis in said DisnEU material, but I just don’t see it happening in the movies, even if only for the reason that no casual viewer would know or care who Plagueis is.

It’s possible but it would be kind of insulting to omit such a crucial detail in the films for the sake of not confusing people who have a less than rudimentary knowledge of the franchise. And yes, I am speaking as an entitled Star Wars aficionado.

I had no idea who Palegeus was. Had to Google it back when this theory was first brought up. Nobody cares about the PT and the ST has no need to contaminate it’s self with that crap.

Seriously, what films do you give A+ to?

I wouldn’t say any of those films deserve an A. I’d switch the ratings of M.S.'s Frankenstein and the American cut of Godzilla. But otherwise I’d agree. I haven’t seen a couple of those though.
Which ones do you think deserve an A+?
