A new Mr. Plinkett review - The Force Awakens!

Plinkett’s first review (of TPM) was incredible - a work of genius. Since then, unfortunately, I think that they have gone downhill.

I gotta disagree. I think the PT reviews are all equally great. The AOTC review has some of my favorite bits and the ROTS review really drives everything home during the “we need a deeper meaning to things” ending.
The TFA/Fandom one isn’t as biting or as funny, but it’s just as accurate. TFA, like Plinkett points out, is also a well made film, so there isn’t as much to bitch about and tear apart, which is what made the PT reviews so much fun.

The AIP Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster and Son of Godzilla dubs aren’t on the DVD releases. Fucking Toho and their rights issues.

Red Menace, a new user around here, is taking care of us Godzilla fans. 😃
Check out the threads in the Preservation forums. The AIP version of Destroy All Monsters is finished and it’s great! More to come!

The Place to Go for Emotional Support

Keep your chin up, Warb. Remember, the warm feelings, the good times, the kind words, the stern words and the way of life your father gave you will always be with you. Those are yours forever.
I’m trying to keep a stiff upper lip today myself. As many of you know, my best friend passed away a couple months ago. October was our month. Halloween was our holiday.
So, I’m trying to heed my own advice and focus on all the positives he left behind while dealing with the absence of his presence.
Maybe do something to special to horror your Dad today. That’s what I’ve done in my lowest points and it really helps. I’ve also found that talking about good times you had and having a laugh is the best way to horror the memories and sooth your own grief at the same time.

A solid response: http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/10/04/hoth-white-why-diversity-matters-in-star-wars

He said the diversity, no matter why or how, is a good thing. And when he says “in a weird way I think Star Wars has always been immune to the whole ‘race and gender’ thing.”, He’s right. Kids of all colors and races have always loved Star Wars despite the mostly white cast. He’s not saying "All the characters should be white and diversity is stupid."
And in the “sex” part, he’s clearly talking about romance.
I don’t see what there is to be angry about.

Yeah, I love Sam Elliot and Ricky Gervais, but what do they have to do with each other?

EDIT- Ooh! Weird thing! I saw that quote on Ricky Gervais’ Twitter and assumed that’s where it came from. But, after googling the quote, it seems Bill Nye has posted the same thing. So where does this quote originally come from? Is it a very old phrase? I guess so.

I just clicked on the TPM review and watched a little bit. I forgot how funny that intro is! I know the voice/character turns some away, but I loved the shtick immediately.
-Also, he lightens up on the voice as the thing goes on. At times it’s almost just Mike’s normal voice, but by then you’re usually caught up in what he’s saying and don’t even notice. At least that’s me.
