Carrie Fisher Suffers Major Heart Attack

These aren’t my words, just words re-blogged from a tumblr I follow. Credit given where due.

i know carrie’s death is devastating, and i know we’re all mourning the loss of such a bright soul, but in these dark times please don’t forget what she taught us.

don’t forget that your mental illness doesn’t define you, but it’s not something to be ashamed of, either. don’t forget that you are so much more than it. don’t forget that you are not alone in your fight.

don’t forget that a jewish woman was a princess, and a general, and that she kicked some major ass.

don’t forget that you are beautiful no matter what age, no matter how your body has changed, no matter what unrealistic standards you face.

don’t forget that carrie was so much more than just princess leia. she was an author, activist, mother, friend, inspiration.

A good friend (who has never seen a Star Wars anything, bless him)sent me a text that just said “Your first love passed away today.” That kinda made it hit home in a different way. Carrie had a strong impact on me as a very young person. She made me realize that I liked girls before I had a chance to go through the typical “Girls are different and bad” phase. She let me know that some could talk sass, kick ass and could be strong, important characters. (My own mother and sister helped to naturally stress that point as well 😃 )
Star Wars could have been silly and stupid with any other actress in the role of my favorite Space Princess/Soldier/Spy. I’ve always felt that her impact on the films has always been overlooked. If she had been played by a typical actress and portrayed as a typical princess… I don’t think I’d have been a Star Wars fan.

Rogue One crawl

One thing the OT texts had that many of these don’t is the ability for very young children to read and understand what they are explaining. Many of these are full of unintentionally hilarious dramatic adjectives that kids wouldn’t understand and adults would roll their eyes at.
My advise is: Dial it back and keep it simple.

Also, I quite like #1, except for “dastardly director” sounds silly and “deep in the outer-rim” sounds weird and unnecessary. I think something like: “In a dark corner of the galaxy the cunning Director Krennic…” would sound and flow a bit better.

Has anyone noticed that the only good Star Wars films were released during the Carter administration?

OH MY GOD SOMEONE GET JIMMY CARTER TO DIRECT THE NEXT MOVIE GUYS

THIS IS THE SECRET

I’d watch.

Me too!
I once remarked to a client while I cut his hair that he looks like Jimmy Carter. He laughed and said he’s heard that before (He’s about 10 years younger than Jimmy). Next time he was in he gave me a peanut. Awesome.

When did Lord Haseo jump the shark? I mean his views on the movies were always bad, but I remember him at least being pleasant about it. Now every post is **** this and you’re an ass that. Try being more civil and don’t take it so personal when people have different taste than you.

Edit: well, I guess the post about wanting to see Vader kill Jedi shines a light on things. The dark side is strong in this one.

The reason that Lord Haseo called malastrana an ass is because malastrana keeps talking out of his ass! Why is it that people that rates Rogue One a 0 out of 10 is pampered on this lousy ass forum?!

Because it’s just a silly movie and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Calm down or go away, please.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Okay, I understand. They will eventually be finished. I only wish it wouldn’t take so long just for one movie. How can I learn to be more patient?

Ady has said ROTJ:R won’t take nearly as long as ESB:R has. Not because there isn’t as much to do (I’d wager that Jedi needs more work than any of the OT), but circumstances will be different. Ady has had several hardships and life issues during the creation of this project that has set it back considerably. Also, he has learned so much from this project and that knowledge will speed things along on Jedi as well as 2nd unit teams ect. that are now assembled.
As for learning to be more patient, well, you have no choice, so what ya gonna do? You’ve just learned a life lesson. 😉

Generalfrivious’ new avatar brought back some memories. I saw the Get up Kids open for Green Day back in ‘98 or ‘99. I don’t remember much about their sound, only that during their show the keyboard stand broke and so that guy had to sit Indian style and play the rest of the show and my friends and I all wished their album sounded like they did live. Green Day put on a great show. We were front and center. Audience was wild as hell. Remember when American audiences went to rock shows to go wild and have fun? I miss that. Green Day dipped deep into their repertoire- even played Christie Road! One of my friends has a great pic of Billie Joe right up in the camera cheesin’ and givin’ the bird. Good times.

So, all the original TOS FX shots weren’t lost forever? Can we get a redo on that remastering thing? 😉
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/192846/

Yes, please!! I hate the new CGI shots!

There are SOME of the Enterprise shots (in front of a blue screen), but definitely not ALL of them.

It’s not all bad, it’s just that I’m fairly new to Trek and I feel like someone who grew up with the special edition of the OT. Also, in every comparison shot I’ve seen, I prefer the original version. The 60’s aesthetics are a big factor in my attraction to the show and I find the new space shots totally jarring when cutting back or forth with the original locations.

Also, dig those stars!
